Title: The Ten Commandments
Post by: Drighton on April 10, 2006, 02:23:01 PM
I always wondered when/if they would remake The Ten Commandments. But I figured it would have been a theatrical production, not something ABC made. You remember when they did the one about Noah. Oh GOD was that a mess. The freedoms taken in the story were outrageous. I didn't watch that one, so I only know about Lot the pirate attacking the Ark by the testimony of others.

I'm not bashing the new show, but I do know what I expect from it just from the previews. Add some "awesome" computer graphics, throw in that choir/strings Lux Aeterna-like soundtrack (look it up), and one of those "Lalala taking a bath OOPS, my lover caught me" unnecessary love scenes. But hey, sex sells.

Meh. I might watch it tonight if I'm not too busy playing Oblivion. It does have Sayid from Lost which == cool in my book.

It looked cool, but that's about it. I'll probably check it out, but when it turns out to be not very good, I'll switch to something else.

Actors from Lost = good.
eg. Eko was in Ace Ventura ;)

I won't watch the Ten Commandments, if I want to hear those stories I go to church or read the bible. It looks pretty weird, I don't see how you could get a whole mini series(?) out of it.

mini-series!? Oh Jebus.

The Charlton Heston version was pretty long, but only as long as it needed to be. I figured the station was trying to make a shorter modern version of the tale so they wouldn't have to slot the old movie into two days anymore.

If it's on at 9, then oh well. 24 > Remake of the Ten Commandments

Sounds stupid.

I don't get ABC in my room, so I don't have anything to worry about :)

Moses was given the Ten Commandments by aliens. Look it up.

If you carefully study the actual passages about it, it can be interpreted as aliens. Same with the mana falling from the sky when they were trekking across Egypt.

Jewus Christ, of course he's serious!

As to Scientology, it can suck my balls, or vagina for those of you who think I'm a girl.

Omega Weapon finds such unsubstantiable theories laughable and only a scientific substitute for the idea of God and divine order within the universe.

This is similar to the way the Big Bang theory is religion disguised as science.

I used to believe in UFOs when I was your age too.

How is the Big Bang religion? It has evolving, tiny atoms creating life, and no divine maker. All religious theroies have nothing of that sort, we were just "invented" and changed slightly to adapt. Really, what you said isn't that plausible.

Listen kid I've seen a hell of a lot of wierd things, but there isn't anything to make me believe in UFOs... it's just paper plates thrown into the air.

Only Charlton Heston can portray Moses properly, to even suggest otherwise suggests perhaps, a hidden racist bias toward Jews?

Then you've not actually thought about it. To believe in every UFO sighting is foolhardy, as is too brush away every case. Do I actually believe that ET's wrote the 10 commandments? No. But its fun to act as if I do.

When I was in Sunday School, my grandaddy gave me a little charm on a bracelett for each one of the 10 Comandments I learned.  It was a really proud day when at the end of the year I had them all.  I think each and every one has a lessen thats impotant to  living a good Christian life and one day I hope to pass that pretty breacelett on to my own son or daughter and let them feel the power of Jesuses love every time they hear them charms jingle.

Omega Weapon apologises if this was directed at us and did not respond sooner.

The Big Bang is a form of an acceptable theory - it is a compromise of science for religionists who can always claim divinity which created the primeval atom or which existed 'before the Big Bang.'

While Omega Weapon does not believe that evolution and atoms creating life is implausible or improbable, thanks to anthocentric principles, there are other valid theories which can explain the creation of stars and galaxies.

The Big Bang theory in itself is fallible because it offers a finite timeline for an infinite reality.

I tired watching it, but meh...I missed like an hour of it, and caught it a few minutes before the son died..totally confusing, the head gaurd is the father of this boy and yet so is the king? Um.. ok <.< >.> also, the acting sucked...badly..and a fly was crawling on the king's armor which was gross  :x I wont watch it again tho, meh..
