I was curious too. Google gave me this.

Kiriban is when someone visits a website and it makes the visitor count reach a high or unique number, like 2000 or 12345. It is popular amongst Japanese sites and often a prize is given to the person who was the visitor that caused the unique number. Webmasters typically ask for a screenshot of the hit counter as proof and may display the list of "winners" in a gallery.

Honestly, you don't have to make a thread as soon as you raise your postcount to an even number. Unless this is a welcome topic I think this should go where the spam goes. Even still it's the wrong forum.
