Because the forum is returning to normal, we have normal topics.
So.
Should I buy Half Life 2?
Pros: Half Life 2
My computer can handle it
Half Life 2
Garry's Mod
Half Life 2
Cons: Spend money
Uhh....
?
I haven't played Half Life 1.
And it will cost about $80AUS, which is about 80% of the normal price (I say that so you can figure it out in comparison to your currency)
Damn Control Enter!!
The last option is "I dunno, lol"
-
Um... yes?
-
I never played half-life 1 and I loved 2.
BUY IT!
It's like puzzles in Mist with halo guns.
-
Dude, you have to get it.
It kicks serious amounts of ***.
-
If you comp can handle, get it.
-
It's a keeper, even if the AI has a couple of holes. Not too many, though, and Steam patches that stuff up often enough. It IS a good idea to play Half-Life 1 first, though. It helps add to the story, and it gives you a greater respect for the game, not to mention tons of fun. If you can find it, get the GOTYE or (if there still are any more left in this world) the collector's edition. Those offer Half-Life: Source, which is Half-Life, but somewhat redone. And the mods for it... Sheer awesomeness in a can (box).
-
Its not a bad game. I liked it.
-
It's a pretty cool game. Too bad my computer sucks... So, yeah, go get it. As for the money part, steal it. :P
:EDIT: The game, not the money. XD
-
100 bucks? Jesus Christ. It'll cost arround 40 here now.
-
And that's why I mentioned the currency difference. BECAUSE I FIGURED "HEY, THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE ON CHARAS WHO DON'T LIVE IN AUSTRALIA (like, all of them)"
-
i see if you like it 1st
befor you pay out money
thats what i do

Yeah, that's a good idea. The demo shows two parts of the game: one with no weapons (kind of the introductory part), and most of the Ravenholm level, which I've discoveredis one of the laggiest parts of the game. If you can get tolerable framerate on Ravenholm, the rest of the game will run just fine. Wiki Half-Life to learn some of the story and stuff.

Its a fun game until you keep dying!!! And some areas are hard as fuck to figure out.
-
So, $104.95 later, I now have HalfLife 2, which also comes with Counter Strike: Source, HL2 Deathmatch and HL: Source, which seems to be some sort of remake or something.
Success is imminent!
Also expect some amusing G-Mod images sooner or later.

yayiness!

Oh hells yeah! I have to play you on CS:S some time. And it'd be a good idea to try beating HL:S before playing HL2. They're both an assload of fun (no, in a good way), and from what my friends tell me, HL:S is the entire first game, but with patches, bug fixes, and the source engine is applied to things (don't know what good that'll do). And the glass looks better. I love the first Half-Life. I should go start a new game for it now. Oh, and by the way, HL is harder than HL2. The first had jumping puzzles. They were still fun, though. Hard, but fun. Oh, and look into a mod for HL2 called "Minerva: Metastasis". It rules. I think Planet Half-Life has a link to it. And other mods.
Oh, and Half-Life 2 costed me (my dad, actually) $29.95 US currency.
I should prob'ly sign up for Friends Beta some time...

I've never played it, I guess I should.
