While I design a game, I listen to music matching a character's personality. If anyone else does this, please feel free to tell us what you listen to and what character. Listening to assigned songs while working really gets you into it. I work up to 10 hours a day on weekends just because I listen to my assigned songs. i just get so into it. As I said before, feel free to let us know what music's playing while you work.
As for me:
::Character, game- "song name" by artist::
-Dirk, of New Found Truth 2: Children of the Beast- "Untitled" by Simple Plan
-Silverson, of Silverson- Stand up by Trapt
-Edward Omin, of Legacy: Rise of X_marks_the_ed- "Aerials" by System of a Down
-My Name Here, of Legacy: Rise of X_marks_the_ed- "Peephole" by System of a Down
-My Name Here, of Legacy: Rise of X_marks_the_ed- "I'm Not Wearing Underwear Today" by Avenue Q
-Sorrow Soldier, of New Found Truth- "Soldier Side" by System of a Down
-Miko, of New Found Truth 2: Children of the Beast- "Savin' me" by Nickleback
-Georg, of new Found Truth and New found Truth 2: Children of the Beast- "Track 6" by Disturbed

I listen to music to ctually fuel dialogue and plot ideas. I can usually just picture the characters doing something inspired by the song and it wrks oyut.
-
I listen to any music.

I usually listen to the background music for maps when I'm actually making the maps. Problem is, by time I finish the maps, I'm usuall sick of the music and have to find a new one. Otherwise, I have a big collection of mp3s from newground that I just play repeatedly in a random order.

Hehe I do this also. I normally listen to rock or metal to help my brain get some ideas for story plots, events, or battle stuff.
For making graphics and everything else I normally listen to the games music that is already there to help get my brain going with the music so the game can run smoothly with music, graphics and everything else.
Music is really a big inspiration...
