Title: Outbreak
Post by: Midnight9795 on May 08, 2006, 05:06:22 PM
The sound of automatic doors opening catches the attention of Lamirka's inmates. Stopping their daily activites to take a peek outside, many await the newcomer. A heavily armed guard walks in first, addressing the C.O. in a whispered hush.

C.O.: So..712-AAJ5 is the newest edition?

Guard: Yes.

C.O.: Very well..come along.

Nodding to the C.O. he signals the guards behind him to follow. They each surround Samira, walking her towards her cell. Samira takes a peek at the other imates, eyes moving nervously until they were out of sight.

OOC:

Alright kittens, I will be back tomorrow. Right now you can all just post daily activites and so forth, and I'll give kijuki something tomorrow. Have fun.  :p

Idyasiardis was on her cell half asleep, until she he heard the guards coming in, apperantly with a new inmate. She however wasn't interested to see the face of the delinquent, so instead she role back in her bunk bed, and forgot about it.

It wasn't anything new to see people come into that dirty place. Little less to hear them whinning, however, she heard noone whining. And although that irked her interest, she still avoided it and resume her 'resting', just hoping time would go faster.

---

On the outsides of the prison cells, on military training grounds, Shurik was getting ready on his bed as he sat, for a morning shooting practice with the members of his unit. As he strapped in the last part of his suit one of his comrades came in...

Soldier: C'mon Shurik, we ARE only waiting for you... The soldier said on a whinny tone while he stood at the door.

Shiruk finished putting on his suit, but was still sitting, apperantly just dozzing off, or doing it on purpose.

Soldier: ... Aren't you ready? A sarcastic touch was added to his question.

Shurik slowly turn his head to him, and smirked when he made eye contact with him.

Shurik: But I don't have my practice gun ready. He said that tauntingly, as the other soldier seem to be getting  abit impatient.

Soldier: You do this every friggin' practice, but since we knew that, we have your gun ready, again, for you. We are wasting too much time.

Shurik: Heh... fine fine. Don't lose your pants. After finishing that conversation, he went out after the other soldier who hurried outside, where a few of the whole soldier unit we ready to start their practice.

One of them tossed a practice gun to Shurik, which he caught without flinching with his left arm, he then approached the group, which were apperantly having an interesting conversation...

Soldier B: Heh, you really thing something like that?
Soldier C: He's lying; no one that young would be sent to he king's prison on heavy charges, specially a girl; she would have to have killed an outstanding fleet of 200 men by herself.

Shurik ackowledge what they were talking about, but being curious he couldn't help it

Shurik: What are you imbecils talking about?

Soldier A: Apperantly there's a new inmate- He's interrupted

Shurik: And? There's many coming in, and less going out, heh.

Soldier A: Would you let me finish?

Shurik: *Rolls eyes* Tch...

Soldier A: There's new prisoner who was put on heavy charges. And I know what you are thinking "A lot of them are", however the catch is, it's a teenage girl.

Shurik was a bit surprised, but he sooned came to conclusions.

Shurik: What?... Heh, your information is always flawed. He began to check the practice gun.   The last female we got on heavy charges, and even on death row, killed 20 men, and was 27. However they went easy on her; they would usually make inmates with death penalty suffer, but because of her gender they changed the usual punishments. * looks at the soldier* If this is really true, do you have in mind that thid new female prisoner should've been able to pull off something as 10... no, 20 times as worse as our last female prisoner?

The soldiers looked at each other

Soldier B: Why do you say that? She isn't even that we know of, on death row.

Shurik: Heh... being around more than 10 years younger, and underage, and of the female gender, she wouldn't be really be put on heavy charges, and even less on death row. I don't think there's really such a psycho female teenager on this kingdom who would do something as chaotic as to have to face heavy charges. You also have to recall our king died, and some rules might've changed.

Soldier C: Then perhaps this new prisoner might not be from this planet...

Shurik: Hmmph.. Whatever. Let's get rolling. This conversation is getting old and painful.

Soldier A: Ha-ha, a little to much for you eh? *Begins jogging to the shooting grounds*

As the other soldiers left, Shurik remain thoughtful and skeptic, but shrugging it off, he began jogging in the same direction as the others

Dalfas was dressed under a black hood that morning. He was nervously walking through the main street of Lamirka. His face was filled with with grief, and he had lost his cold temper for a moment.

Dalfas (in deep thought): "This was umpredictable... but the men are impatient, they'll get mad. Maybe Melwen could make them consider the possibilities of gaining something from this..."

Dalfas kept walking as he watched over his shoulder. He was pretty sure that he was being followed. But this was nothing more thn his imagination, he was fairly nervous because of the sudden news: The king had died. He had planned his revolutionary moves based on the king's schedule, but now everything had changed and his moves where unusable now...

Now he was pretty sure that "The Infernals" were going to rebel against him, and all his wishes would be done for.

Dalfas looked again over his shoulder, as he reached a wrecked up building, that was abandoned for a long time.

He knocked the door three times, then two times, then five times, and a little hole was opened from the inside.

Female Voice: "Who is there?"

Dalfas: "The one who never sleeps, the one who never stops walking, the one who kills without attacking, the one who controls you right now..."

Female Voice: "And who is it?"

Dalfas: "Time... just let me in Melwen, you know it is me standing here. It is cold outside, you know..."

Melwen (laughing): "Allright Dalfas, you know the proceedments, you created them!"

Dalfas: "I know, but you certainly know who I am and you know that I know how to do this!"

Melwen: "You could be a hologram..."

Dalfas: "Damn wizard, you always know how to win a discussion... I've already answered, let me in Mel, I'm freezing..."

Melwen: "Ok, hold on."

The door opened and a slight heat came from the inside. Some men where standing near the fire that didn't seem to fade, it was created by Melwen's will, obviously. Dalfas made everyone gather around a table located on the dinning room.

Dalfas: "Gentleman... and ladies (looking at Melwen for an instant, who laughs smoothly). I am afraid that the news I bring today are dark. The king Orein has died and my calculations are now at nowhere..."

The other man start to whisper between themselves, as Melwen opens her beautiful eyes wide, she can't believe that.

Melwen: "Well, there is nothing we can do now. Who's got the power now?"

Dalfas: "Luin does..."

Infernal 1: "Who cares about who's got the power now?! All our efforts are for nothing! It is because of your slowness, 'boss' (while staring to Dalfas with angry eyes) that we could not get a hold of the power before! Now with Luin there it will be impossible! He can manage the knights better than Orein!"

Infernal 2: "Indeed he can! We stand no chance now!"

Melwen (striking the table with her fists, everyone remains silent): "Silence, idiots! It is because of Dalfas that we could at least gather here! And it is Dalfas who led us to this very moment, when we have resources and we are able to attack! The only thing we need is a good plan since we are obviously outnumbered!"

Infernal 1: "Who has given you the word, witch?"

Dalfas: "DON'T YOU DARE TO INSULT HER!!! She is a wizard and is the only one here who can control magic. Can you do it Helvan?"

(Notice that Helvan is the "Infernal 1")

Helvan: "I... well... surely cannot, but I have another power in my hands... right boys (he looks at the other man who laugh)?"

Melwen: "What do you intend to mean, Helvan...?"

Helvan: "NOW!!!"

A door opened in the back, and several knights entered the room.
As they tried to attack Melwen, Dalfas jumped forth and stroke some down with his sword.

Helvan: "Bring the shooters! Dalfas Won't hold them!"

Dalfas: "Traitor!"

Dalfas jumped forth and injured Helvan, who drew a sword and tried to fight back. Helvan did not last more than two seconds in front of his old leader, who was now trying to think in a way of scaping. Suddenly, soldiers equipped with guns entered the room and started shooting. One bullet reached Dalfas' right arm, yet he did not drop his sword. Melwen started to strike back with range magic, but she got hurt by a bullet in her stomach.

Dalfas: "MEL!!! You bastards!!!!!!"

Soldier: "Surrender now, mister Dargalot, or the girl shall meet at least one of the circles of hell!"

Dalfas: "Let her go! Melwen!"

Soldier: "I repeat! Surrender now or the girl is dead!"

Dalfas kneeled, as he understood the situation... "The Infernals" had never really existed, except for him and Melwen, who was the only one loyal to him. It was all a trap to get rebels...

Dalfas (dropping his weapons): "Fine, just promise me that she will not be harmed..."

The soldier remained silent as he hit Dalfas with a baton and left him unconscious. The last thing he heard was: "Get him to the prison... he might help Tyain, mwahahahahaaa!"

This was bullsh*t.

Not a word Argent preferred to use even in his mind. Certainly nothing you’d ever catch him saying in public. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to offend people. He didn’t much care about that. But few things in the world were so fake, so undeniably phony and such terrible ideas to warrant him ever using it.

Commander Argent considered himself a patient and reasonable man. In his profession, you had to be. Impatient men couldn’t sit on a rooftop for hours starting down the scope of a high-powered sniper rifle, waiting for all the bystanders to be focused on something else and exactly the right position and angle of his target to put a bullet through his head. It was patient work. Oh sure, he saw his share of less patient more “guts and glory” type shootouts in the past two years of this civil war. He hated raw fighting. Unelegant combat. Jarheads, mere children, shooting at whatever moves and letting someone else sort it out later. It wasn’t his work if he could help it. A single strike, if struck at the right time and right place, could end everything. One shot, one kill. There was a kind of truth to that, or so Argent mused on long nights.

So yes, a patient man, willing to let the cards fall where they would. But that did not change the fact that this was still bullsh*t.

It wasn’t the fact that Lamirka was slowly but continually sliding down the path of destruction. That some sort of atrocity against nature and science had occurred somewhere on his blighted world, driven by men with big egos and small minds, that had driven the half-starved surviving population into this meaningless civil war. A truly, massively nasty problem, but that was life. It was one he could deal with, or at least try to. If all else failed he could just leave the planet and go offworld. Micras was looking better day by day.

Nor was it the fact that King Orein had been murdered, probably by someone on his royal council. That was exactly what this planet didn’t need right now. King Orein was a good man, a bit weak perhaps but a just ruler. Argent had been rather fond of him. In better times he would have probably lead Lamirka into a nice comfortable age. Now he was resting in the tomb of kings. Well, that’s what happened to kings. They struggled hard for their power, killed everyone in their way, and then got bumped off by an underling who was doing the same thing. A nasty and continuous cycle. Pity though.

Clearly something was up. General Tyain had recently recalled some of the commanders from the border wars back to the capital city. There he has received some rather shocking orders. He was going to be part of an expedition. The reason was not specified though he was assured it was not directly related to the war. That part confused Argent. Everything was related to the war these days.

The bullsh*t of the whole matter was that this obviously mission that involved taking commanders off the front line would be sprearheaded by a few loyal soldiers and a group of stinking prisoners! Any job worth doing was worth doing right, especially in wartime, especially when it was so obviously important as this one was. Never mind that most of them had gotten in jail for their displays of bloodlust and carnage. These people were savages not soldiers, and you didn’t trust a mission of international security to a bunch of brainless cons!

Argent had stared at General Tyain in disbelief when he was told this. He had laughed awkwardly at her obvious joke. He had tried to reason with her. He had gotten madder than he had in a decade and started yelling. He even pulled the treat to quit card. She hadn’t given him one single inch. This was the way it was going to be and he could like it or get out. Argent decided to do neither and returned to his officer’s quarters in a huff. There was nothing to do now but wait for orders to move out.

(out of character: anyone involved in the civil war on either side has likely heard of Commander Argent at one point or another. He hasn’t been in any decisive battles in the civil war as he was mostly on the borders destroying ammo dumps, sabotaging roads and rail lines, attacking small mostly undefended listening bases, and the like.)

The afternoon sun rose high above the cold and musky streets. Like a snake the heavy fog swam through the city air, weaving and turning against the frigid wind. The world was bland-a stony gray against a pale blue sky- and into this pallid mesh were woven the callused and hungry souls of Lamirka, going about their business with the clear signs of malnourishment drawing at their faces.

Standing out amongst the crowd, a gaudy stew of ribbons and ill-matched colour wandered along the streets. It passed through passages and tunnels, roads and bridges, all lined with beggars, their pitiful hands outstretched, while their scratchy voices called over an ostinato of sleezy peddlers.

“Coal §5!” “Bread §7!”

The prices seemed good, but there was no need to stop- the coal would be no more than blackened cobblestone, and the bread would be stale and made from poor wheat.

“Violetta!” cried a man as the colourful girl jingled down a small row of steps “Where have you been?”

“Relax, my sweet, I’m here, aren’t I?” She pushed passed him, walking into a crowded pub.

The man did not seem persuaded. He rushed in after her, his comb-over dancing in the wind.

“What took you so long?” he muttered, clumsily maneuvering through the maze of tables and chairs.

“I was detained.” She said, non-chalantly, smiling at the drunken patrons as she moved toward her usual spot “Now stop panicking, you’re making a scene.”

Violetta cast him a glance; he understood.

“Just get to work, and don’t take too long. My landlord has been at my throat for a week. If I don’t pay him today, he’ll sic the dogs on me.”

“Cheers, chaton.” She smiled, giving his cheek a pat with her pale hand “I’ll have your money.”

“You’d better. Lately you’ve been more trouble than you’re worth.”

She arrogantly turned away, sitting herself down at the table of a lonely gentleman.

Now, it must be understood that there are all kinds of thieves in the world- pickpockets, swindlers- all get the job done. Violetta was a very special kind of thief- one contracted by the place of business. With The Ownder, she had come to an agreement. He would provide her with a warm and ample picking ground (a room full of drunken men), and allow her to steal without question or punishment. To make the deal even, she would give him a share of her earnings.

“Why are you sitting alone?” she asked in her phony accent “Are you waiting for someone?”

The Drunkard stared up at her from over his drink and shook his head.

Perfect Violetta noted. This man was completely smashed.

She leaned forward over the table (a proven deadly attack in the game of distraction), and ran one finger over the rim of his cup. As expected, her victim’s gaze shifted downward.

“Mmm…this drink you have is a specialty here, you know.” She eyed the sweat stains on his shirt, and the generous way his belly flowed over his belt. This in mind, she avoided his trouser pocket and instead reached for his coat, which –thankfully- hung over his chair.

“Do you like your drink?” she asked.

“Erm…grfuh…gru…uh?” he muttered inaudibly, not noticing that his watch and money had now changed owners.

There was no way this man would ever detect her thievery, and so in an act of boldness, she reached for his other coat-pocket. It was all going as usual, when suddenly, two firm hands were upon her shoulders, and she was being pulled off of her chair.

“What is this!?” she cried, fighting to get away.

“An arrest, madame.” Came the answer.

Violetta stopped and turned, her eyes meeting the icy blue orbs of a civil officer.

“Surely you’re mistaken!” she chided, pitifully patting his cheek “You have no reason to arrest me!”

“On the contrary, madame.” The soldier muttered, pulling the watch and coins from her pockets, victoriously presenting it to her. It was clear he had been watching “And according to the owner here, this isn’t your first time stealing!”

Violetta turned now to the owner, angrily “What have you told them!?” she cried.

“Only the truth. That you’ve been stealing from my patrons!” he smiled, innocently.

Another soldier turned to him “Thank you sir.” He said, handing him a small bag “…and your reward.”

The Owner weighed it in his hand as if he could tell how much was in it this way.

“He-he’s lying!” Violetta said to the soldier, but her words sounded like pleading “That watch is mine! Just ask this gentleman!”

The Drunkard looked up, but could only manage another “Erm…grfuh…gru…uh?”

“Come on, let’s go.” The soldier said to her in a rough voice “You’ve already done enough here!”

And with that, they pulled her out of the pub, screaming, cursing, and calling angrily to The Owner who could only look at her apologetically and shrug.

The sun shines and the grove awaken. Amongst the trees, roots and few remaining animals, a young man with long green hairs can be seen with a green pseudo-dragon flying above him.

Deneb: Wake up Dekaras, wake up!

The effects of morning still in his eyes, Dekaras stood up and stretched up and down.

Dekaras: I thought you'd let me sleep this morning, the grove remained intact for two weeks now.

It was a common thing in Lamirka. The countries would try to take nearby natural resources for their army knowing that she was unprotected. The last assailants retreated after noticing a shadowy figure amongst the vines and probably reported that the grove is under protection.

Deneb: True but you are making a living in this grove. In exchange for it's safety, it provides you food and fresh water. Such a bond must be maintained and your duty is clear.

Dekaras:*sigh* You are right, as always....

Dekaras and Deneb left their hut and started to patrol the area. The sight of the grove is one that any stranger would never forget. Great trees with green leaves and rainbow-like flowers were growing all over the place, thanks to the crystal-clear source of water constantly flowing within the grove....but such a beauty doesn't last forever. The limit of the grove was devastated by human hands and weaponry not long before Dekaras' arrival, leaving the trees cut or burned to ashes.

Deneb: This war is hard for nature and her childrens. Should you leave this grove and take part in this war, you will not find it again. It'll be destroyed like your former grove was.

Dekaras: The sad truth but...can you be so sure? If I do not rise in the name of nature or fight for her, who will? The war factions? The people?

Deneb: Sometimes one must sacrifice to maintain the balance. An even bigger sacrifice is required if one is to restore it. That choice will be forced upon you one day, wether you like it or not.

The two companions kept walking inside and out and around the grove for an hour as they usually do. The young Druid was pensive during the patrol. Deneb's words were wise, what if he had to choose between his peaceful life and the life of nature? Either choice would bring consequences...

Dekaras: If only Coran was still alive...he would know what to do...

Deneb: Master Coran would refuse to aid you. He always said *the little dragon took a booming voice* 'You must cut your own path tru destiny and never must one Druid bend another's path'.

Those words had always stayed with Dekaras. After all, his mentor died so that he could escape a cruel fate.
--
Out of character: Not as long as the others but there is only so much one can do locked up in a grove, undecided of his fate.

Soldier: "Wake up!"

Dalfas opened his eyes. He realized that his wound was treated, which gave him a little releaf. But then he saw where he was.

Dalfas (whispering): "A prison... I should have expected this..."

Soldier: "I heard you! If you think that you will have it easy, then you are wrong. You'll be on a cell totally alone, be thankful that we have no partners for you!!!"

Dalfas stared at the ground. He wished that he had his sword nearby, but he saw a couple of soldiers taking his sword, armor and shield with them. Dalfas was taken into a cell in which you could not see the outside, and the only window was unreachable.

Dalfas (in deep thought): "Melwen... Where are you?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Melwen woke up in sweat. She was badly injured in her stomach, but now she felt no more pain. Still she was on a bed.

Medic 1: "The bullet did not touch any vital organs, she was very lucky."

Medic 2: "Very lucky indeed. Look! She's awake! Call the guards!"

One of the medics went out of the room and Melwen could hear him talk to someone, and the other one was standing right next to her.

Medic 1: "The guards told me to put this on her mouth (he had taken out a handkerchief). We have to tighten it up so that she can't speak a word. We have a feisty little wizard here."

Medic 2: "I thought so. Only a wizard can have such a miraclous luck (both medics laugh). Now we are the lucky ones! The anestesia hasn't let you talk, right missy? That is why our bodies are not engulfed in flames... now be quiet as I put this in your mouth (puts the handkerchief around Melwen's mouth, no she cannot speak)."

Some guards entered the room and took Melwen out. She was totally numb, and only her eyes could move.

Melwen (In deep thought): "This is just perfect. I'll have to figure a way out of this. Now, where could Dalfas be...?"

She was taken into a cell where she could recieve no more light than the slight one that was entering through a window.
She could move now, but her hands where tied up as her legs, and the handkerchief didn't allow her to speak. Still she could hear the guards speak.

Guard 1: "The prisons are getting full of this people... How come that everyone is making different movements to take down the gorvernment...?"

Guard 2: "I don't know that, all I know is that I have to keep an eye on this guys. You have a wizard behind you, y'know!"

Guard 1: "Yeah, I know. But boy this is getting out of hand. Now the women's prison is full, the wiz behind of me is a woman, and they couldn't take her to the women's prison because of that there is no more place, they'll have to build a new one!"

Guard 2: "Wow! Let's take a peek!"

Guard 1: "Do you want to end up in one of those prisons? Don't be an idiot!"

Guard 2: "Ah, c'mon, I was just joking! Besides I don't have it easy, y'know... The guy I'm taking care of here is a total psycho. He's the one who almost killed Helvan!"

Guard 1: "He's still alive?!"

Guard 2: "Well, if you call it to be alive, yes he is, but I don't think that he will walk anymore..."

Guard 1: "Oh my God!"

Melwen stopped hearing the conversation... Dalfas was alive and just in front of her.

Melwen (in deep thought): "I have to figure a way out!"

Since the disbandment of his clan Draxx had little too do, but appearantly all clans and guilds had been raided after the kings death.

Thinking Draxx." Bad luck? Nah...It was planned, someone is trying to take out every group and faction that could be a problem too the kingless throne."
Draxx lightened his scarf a little so he could get his bread to the mouth.
"Now that Luin is taking the control for now I wont be safe out here... I need to find a place were I can rest easy. Somewhere safe."

After all Draxx was sitting in an alley, on top of a wooden box.
Watching the citizens walk past, the guards would probably reconize him if he took of the items that hid his head.
"Dressing up as the purple mage must have been one of my greatest ideas heh."

Everything had started to become so depresing lately, but through the googles the world looked pretty nice, he took his fork and shoved it in the inner pocket, as well as hid pouch with bread. But it wasn´t before he jumped down from the box that he realized that a group of five guards stood in front of him.
Thinking to himself;"Drats! I forgot to wrap the scarf around my face again..."

GuardI:"Hmm, I didn´t knew that purple mages had faces..."

GuardII:"Hey! Isn´t that the leader of one of the clans we raided a couple of while ago?!"

GuardI:`"Your right! catch him, catch him now!"

Draxx took out the matter blades handle, about to insert the tranquill crystal in order to make the blade appear when he was cought from behind.

GuardIII;"No problem sir, suspect has been taken care of!"

GuardI:"Ha, look! he didn´t even have a real sword, he must have dropped the blade somewhere!' To Draxx;' Maybe you should have visisted a blacksmith hmm? Take him away!

Placing her feet on top of her desk, Tyain was reading a file on her lap. Tyain has read this file enough to know everything about this person. Removing a few strands of hair from her face, Tyain sighed. A knock at the door caught her attention.

Tyain: Come in.

A tall man, with blonde hair and gray eyes walked in. His robes were a dark blue and a darker red. He smiled at her for a moment.

Tyain: Jenkins. *nods*

Jenkins: Ah, Tyain..as beautiful as ever I see. *smirks*

Tyain: Why thank you, Jenkins. Is--

Jenkins: Yes, yes..she is here. Safe and sound, just as you wanted.

Tyain: Good.

As Tyain stood up, you could hear the sounds of her armor settling.

Jenkins: You owe me.

Tyain: That I do.

Another knock on the door caught their attention.

Tyain: Yes?

A guard in gray armor walked in, and saluted them. Tyain saluted back, where as Jenkins merely nodded with a bored expression.

Tyain: Status report.

Gray Guard: Ma'am, they are arriving now.

Tyain: Perfect..Hm..Let them settle in for the night. Tomorrow our mission begins.

Gray Guard: Right! *salutes and walks out*

Jenkins: You're so adorrid when giving orders.

Tyain: *Sweatdrops* Whatever you say. I am sorry for the lack of converstation, but I must go now. I have a few things to attend to.

Jenkins: *disappointed* Oh fine..

Tyain: I'll remember this, Jenkins.

Jenkins didn't reply as he watched Tyain leave. He sighed, ''Her heart is still with that fool Jeuin..Why do I even bother?'' With that last thought he left the room.

Sitting on his bed, which hangs from the wall with two old chains like in those old movies, Maximus is staring at floor again. He's not thinking anything. In his time there, he learned how to supress his thoughts to make time speed by.

He used to think about everything. Mostly his wife and children, his family, his village, the war, the slaughtering he caused, the pain, the news of another hundred deaths, the news about the world's ecomony going downhill, children starving because their parents died in the war, who his next cellmate might be by looking at the news and everything else.

Thinking made time go slow. The days would last longer and the irritation of being locked up would try to get you going over the top. But not anymore. Maximus' days existed of sleeping, eating, training, working, reading and going to the toilet. Nothing more, nothing less.
Since his arrival in his cell, he has had 14 cellmates. Some who became his friends, others he never talked too. They seem to come and go unlike himself.

But this day, was a different one. This was the day he would get out and get on a mission. He knew it for a little while now that he was going to be picked up this day. Though, he asked himself if he wanted to go. Go out into the world again. The cruel world that took his life and the life of countless others away. In his cell, he was a safe man, yet trapped in a cage. Outside, it was dangerous, yet he was free to do what he wanted. If he survived this mission, he would gain his freedom back which he so easily gave away for vengeance.

Footsteps were now able to be heard, coming from the door at the end of the hallway. One by one, step by step. From the sound, it were three men. Probably one of the prison guards to open the cell, one to support the first one if any incidents might occure and another guard to escort Maximus to the mission briefing. Slowly but surely they came closer.

Maximus was right. Three men stood before his cell. Two of which in shiny grey armor, one in a more relaxed and everyday clothes. The last one starts to speak as Maximus turns and raises his head to see him.

Guard 3: Today's the day Mr. Cicero. I'm Hugo Salivan. I'll be your escort to the place where you'll be staying for the night and will get your mission briefing in the morning.
Max:: Nods. Pleasure to meet you Mr. Salivan. Reaching out his left hand to shake Hugo's.
Hugo Salivan: Shakes Max his hand and turns to the guard to his left. If you would be so kind to open his celldoor, we can get on the road.

The guard opens the celldoor and Max steps out, stretched and nods. The guard goes in Max's cell and picks up a box with Max's belongins. He steps out and the second guards closes the door and the four of them start walking out of the prison. Yes, this is the day his live takes another turn. For the good or bad, he doesn't know. But surely it would end his daily routine for ever.

Violetta watched as the last musky light disappeared over the wire-mesh elevator. Her arms were still twisted behind her back, held by the soldier. To the left and right stood two others, their postures identical, and their guns held stiffly in a rehearsed stance.

“How far down does this go, loves?” Violetta asked, her nervous words filling the rickety air “Any further and I’d think we’d be halfway to hell.”

There was no answer- only the flickering in the stony eyes of the soldier who held her arms.

The elevator came to a stop, landing roughly on the bottom floor. Stony-Eyes pushed her roughly forward, his two men following shortly behind. As they moved through an almost cave-like passage, Violetta was hit with the awful stench of sweat and urine. Echoing across the walls were the sounds of screaming, and of clanking metal.

Fear washed over the girl and in desperation she turned, suddenly struggling to get away. Stony-Eyes held firm, his grip far too strong to escape from.

“Please!” she cried, trying to run back toward the elevator “You can’t put me in here! Do you know who I am? You can’t put me here! You can’t put me here!”

Dark orbs and pale skin emerged from the darkened cells, as ghastly creatures crawled to see the fresh meat. Crooked teeth and withered hands flashed in the shadows, calling out to her in strange words.

She scarcely heard them, her own screams drowning them out.

“Quiet down.” The First Man said “Or else we’ll give you cell-mates who’ll really love to hear you yell.”

He brought his face close to hers, grabbing the front of her shirt as he spoke. Gathering the meaning, she became silent. Her body was still tense in Stony-Eye’s grip.

They continued down the dimly lit passages, rushing by rows and rows of rotting lives and foul stenches. When at last they reached a cell marked “201,” they stopped. The Second Man unlocked the latch.

Without a word, Stony-Eyes pushed her in, sliding the row of bars closed and disappearing silently into the clanking dark.

In one last attempt at freedom, she ran at the bars. The pink skin of her fingers lying cold upon the metal, haven broken through her purple gloves.

“Let me out of here!” she screamed, but her voice was lost amid a sea of cries and wails “I demand that you let me out of here!”

“Who are you to demand?” came a voice in the dark.

She gasped and turned, searching the shadows for any bit of sight. Immediately, her hand reached for a dagger which she kept well hidden.

“Whatever you are, get back!” she yelled, aggressively “I’ll stay to my side and you stay to yours.”

There was silence for a while, and then laughter as the voice came closer. Violetta squinted, trying desperately to see who this addresser was.

Dalfas sat down on the floor, staring at the ceiling over and over again.

Dalfas: (in deep thought) "How did it come to this...?"

He stood up and started to walk around the cell, searching for an exit. Many thoughts came to his head... the end of The Infernals, the prison, to try to find a way out... and Melwen.

Dalfas: "GUARD!"

No one answered... he just heard some whispers outside the cell, and then laughter...

Dalfas: "Don't mock me, you feeble little maggots! I'll get you!"

The guards were outside, almost dying from the laughter.

Guard 1: "Who is inside the cell? We are only keeping you alive for estrict (Note: Is it well spelt?) orders. You are quite strong, so you might enter a "special program...", so be thankful."

Guard 2: "Shut up! Leave the prisoner, let him scream until he is mute..."

Dalfas: "Could you at least tell me what happened to my friend...?"

Guard 2: "You mean the lad? She's allright... but you should think about what YOU did to Helvan you bastard!"

Guard 1: "Tom, relax!!!"

Tom: "No, Bill, you know what this bastard did!!!"

Bill: "Don't loose it, you fool!"

The guards strggled for a while, but suddenly stopped.

Tom: "It is bad, you know... this guy is crazy. A total psycho..."

Bill: "But it doesn't mean that you have to loose your temper! This is your work!"

Tom: "Yes... speaking of work... How is the wiz doing...?"

Bill: "Damn! I forgot to tighten her handkerchief! I have to do it before...!"

Suddenly, the door that kept Melwen inside the cell came out flying in a blast. Two flames came for inside the prison and hit the guards, who where left unconscious.

Dalfas heard the noise form inside, when suddenly, his prison opened up...

Melwen: "This guards... they get dumber and dumber..."

Dalfas smiled and stood up as the alarm started to sound...

Idya could hear another new comer coming in. Apperantly a young girl. Like before she was familiar with the whining, but this time, having resting enough she wanted to see the younger girl. Sitting up on her bunk bed, she saw the girl being walked by two men into a cell abit  further down the hall.

She heard the squinting from her, and the queer laughter, apperantly her cellmate was one of those rude and scary persons.

Seeing how she was young girl, and apperantly seem like she didn't realy belonged there, Idya tried to assist.

Idya: Hey you, young girl who just got in...

Idya heard the girl make a quick gasp because she knew it was her who was being talked to, but she was a bit still in a weird condition to answer back.

Idya: Hmmm... *raising her voice* Whoever is in that cell with that new young girl, you better stay away from her!

Voice: Tch, you are in position to say that.
Idya: Don't make me brake this cell... my weapon is just outside my cell, I won't get second thoughts if I hear a scream from her.

Voice: Tch! ....

Apperantly whoever that was, had listened to Idya's warning. She wasn't all that well known, but she was known for oddly having her weapon outside her cell.

After realizing the voice stayed away from the girl, Idya addressed Violetta again.

Idya: Hey little girl, how are you doing there?

A bit of silence stood, but she expected to hear something.

Shiruk's practice was going well and was soon to be finished, however it was interrupted by a radio signal in his suit and a dim alarm sound coming from the Prison Grounds which was nearby.

Radio: Second Division Prison Guard speaking, Shurik are you available?

Shurik gave a signal to his comrades to stop the pratice

Shurik: I hope this is something better than shooting people with rubber bullets.

Radio: We have some brave prisoners trying to get prison break, can you take care of it?

Shurik: Hah! Finally something interesting.

Radio: Involve your unit. DO NOT EXTERMINATE THE TARGETS.

Shurik: Yeah yeah, no matter how fun that is, I'll obey orders... abit.

Radio: Wait waht did you- The line is cut off by Shurik

Shurik: Ok my friends I have sent you our quick mission. It shouldn't be hard for 6 elite soldiers to catch a few barbarians. let's use our current weaponry.

Soldier A: We are authorized to use rubber bullets on inmates Shurik.

Shurik: They arent inmates, once they escape, they are fugitives. Hehe. Now let's move in before they get out.

Shurik and the rest of the team moved onto the Main Prison Complex. It consisted of various floors, all however underground. There was only one floor standing above the ground, and that was the entrance and processesing building along with some offices, below that, under the earth, was the prison cells. Before the prisons   did divide men and women but after the king died, too many prisoners were taken in and got out of control, making the prison co-ed. Though they tried to separate the women and men from the same cells, they were a few cases where it would not happen.

Shurik received a briefing through his radio saying it was a pair, plus another male who had attempted escape, so this could've been from a same cell case. He didn't know, but he knew something needed to be done.

Getting past the watching towers, were the main prison offices and watch guards were along with some other higher officials, they soon  reached the Prison Complex, all going in at once they got to the elevators which went underground.

Shurik: Apperantly there's 3 fugitives, a pair and a crazy male, a split up is in plan; I'll go with both (two other soldiers) of you through the stairs in case they are smart, and you wait below on the elevator entrance. There's no escape from the complex if the two main exits from the prisons are blocked.

The plan is carried out; Shuriks and two of his teamates go down the stairs to the first basement floor, while as the other three go down the elevator and await at it's entrance on the same basement floor.

Shurik: *Accessing his radio* Lockdown the complex now for 10 minutes, these rats are mine.

Now they stood and blocked exits armed and with the complex completely closed down, the fugitives would have little chance of escaping.

OOC: Yeah, if a escape happens, then you won't really be in the special mission :P

The sun still shining bright within the grove, Dekaras was getting ready to swim in the small lake when one of the remaining Treants came to him. The creature's face was that of an old man yet his branches and leaves were of the brightest colors.

Dekaras: Elder Cloven, how can I help you today?

Cloven: I come as a representative of the Treants and as a friend. Last night, the sky was without a single star yet not a single cloud could be seen. Great things are about to happen; you must not remain here.

Dekaras: You can nay be serious! If I was to leave, this would mean the end of your people and yourself! I am linked to this grove just as you are!

Dened: For the Elder of the Treants to come and ask you to leave, things must be worst than we thought, Dekaras.

Cloven: Listen to your familar, she speaks the truth. Our fate was sealed the day the Country was divided by greed and ambition. As one of the few remaining fighters of nature, you must go and defend your cause. Find alligeance to a Kingdom, it is the only way you can investigate.

Dekaras: If we...you...are doomed to fail...I suppose I have nothing to lose. I shall take my leave by the next moonrise...take care Master Cloven.

The giant Tree turned back and returned into the dept of the grove. A few hours went by without a sound as Dekaras and Deneb were preparing for their journey. As the sun was about to be replaced by the moon, an orchestra of deep booming could be heard.

Dened: The Treants are singing thy departure Dekaras. Their voices...are beautiful.

Dekaras: Smoother than a Sirine's and deeper than a cavern. It is sad...to hear them chant...knowing that they will...die....

As the moon came up, the chant could still be heard as Dekaras and his dragon familiar were leaving the grove. Deneb was crying as they left and entered the Wasteland.

Dekaras: First we cross the Wasteland....goodbye my friends...

Guard: "Here they are! You won't getlghghghghg..."

Dalfas strangled the guard quickly and ran fast on the front, while Melwen followed.

Dalfas: "Mel! Can you tel me where the weapons are?"

Melwen: "This door says 'armory'... You never stop to think, do you Dal?"

Dalfas: "Don't call me that!"

Melwen: "Then don't call me 'Mel'... It sounds manly, you know?"

Dalfas: (smiles) "Fine."

They entered the armory. Dalfas started to look everywhere...

Dalfas: (nervous) "Where is it...?"

Melwen: "Dalfas, why don't you get one of these (picks up a long range gun)"

Dalfas: "Here! (pics up his sword, shield and armor)"

Melwen: "But Dalfas..."

Dalfas: "This weapons mean too much for me, and I am better cutting with a sword than shooting. For that I have a relliable wizard by me Melwen."

Melwen blushed, but said nothing. She liked Dalfas for a while, and wasn't able to tell him. She was not going to tell him right away, because of that they had to get away first...

Melwen: "Well, it's best if we leave..."

Dalfas: "Indeed, I'll take the lead..."

As they reached the door, Dalfas realized something...

Dalfas: "There are way too little guards here... I bet the exits are closed"

Melwen: "And...?"

Dalfas: "If needed, you'll have to open one, ok?"

Melwen: "Yeah!"

Opening the celldoor, the gray guard pushed Samira in gently and locked the door. He was about to say something to her but stopped as dispatch reported a need for backup. The guards headed off with a simple nod to each other. Samira said nothing as she looked around the room. It was completely empty..well except for the the bed, a young boy was staring at her with a blank stare. Samira merely blinked and said nothing, she walked over to the wall and leaned against it falling until she hit the ground. She noticed the guards forgot to unchain her, for a while she stared at the chains without moving. Then placing her right hand over the lock that connected all the chains together, she whispered ''aisha..'' and watched as the chains turned a firey red. After that Samira whispered again, ''Hisain..'' and the center lock froze completely. Tugging it a few times, Samira smirked a bit as she used her legs to tear the locks apart. After she was free, Samira stretched and walked over to the cell door examining it.

Boy: ....

Samira looked at him, she was about to say something but changed her mind.

Boy: .....

She returned her glaze to the door and didn't move after that. The boy looked at her for a moment longer, and rolled over facing the wall without a word.

~~Tyain~~

After leaving her room, Tyain headed straight for Osis' room. She hasn't really had any time to spend with him since his father died, and this mission would mean a long time would pass before she ever saw him again. Knocking on his door, Tyain became alittle worried when she didn't hear a reply.

Tyain: Osis..? *Slowly looks in the room* Osis..?

Osis: Ty!

Within a second Tyain was tackled by a blonde haired boy with grassy green eyes. Hugging him back, she realized he was crying a bit. Tyain didn't say a word as she walked him over to a chair by the open window. Sitting him down, Tyain watched him for a moment and sighed.

Tyain: Osis..I'm so sorry, I should've came sooner..It's just I've been dealing with things..

Placing her hands on her temples, Tyain closed her eyes and sighed again. When she opened them, she saw Osis staring at her.

Tyain: *Kneeling down* Osis, I'm going on a long trip.. I don't know when I'll come back..

Osis: Take me with you! Please, Ty don't leave me!

Tyain: I wish I could..but I can't. A lot of dangerous people are going to be around, and..you would be safer here. *Looks away*

Osis: B-but..

Tyain: No! Osis, you can not come. You are the future heir of Lamirka..if anything happens to you...

Osis merely looked at her. Taking his silence as her answer, Tyain hugged him again.

Tyain: I'm..sorry.

Radio: Shurik we have targetted the subjects. They are apperantly however retaining their distance.

Shurik: They probably saw you then, so they are taking the elevator eh? *Turns to his two other teamates* Guard the stairs, I'll barracade our current rats.

With that he left and turn about, he's plan was to come at the two fugitives from behind and cornering them.

Shurik: * To the radio* Alright, I am coming from behind the stairway to corner them, once you hear my whistle close in on tactics. We aren't letting them escape.

He prepaired his practice weapon as he finalized his sentence. Although this was certainly not the weapon of his choice, since he wan't allowed to kill inmates without authorization, he was still handy with such weapons. He quietly approach a doorway which led to a distinct view of the fugitives who were at least 30 feet away.

The clay path was scared with Kret's bare feet. The sound of a truck was in the distance. He turned around and waited till it passed by hoping to catch a ride. As the wagon came closer it halted.

Man : Do you need a ride.

 Kret : Yeah.

He nodded his head not wanting to get in a deep conversation.

 Man : Sure, jump in.

Kret opened the door and stepped in. He slammed the door and sat down on a rotting chair.

Man : Where are you going to.

Kret : Any were you are going.

Once Tyain left Osis by himself, she decided to head to Argent's room. He hadn't been to happy with the mission, and she would tell him the truth but she swore she would reveal the truth to none. Tyain considered Argent a good friend, even though she knew he prolly thought of her as an enemy. Walking the halls, her heels making a clicking sound as she walked, Tyain considered making an exception for Argent. When she reached his door, Tyain knocked softly but heard no reply. She knocked harded this time and heard something from behind the door.

Tyain: Argent, it's me Tyain..

As Tegalad zoned out on the wall, he thought about the girl who stood  a mere three feet away from him. 'Hrm, so... A mage is she?... Perhaps, perhaps not.' he mused. Tegalad rolled back over, only to find that the girl was still staring down the door. Rolling his eyes uncharacteristically, he figured he might as well make conversation with the girl. Her abilities intrigued him, if nothing else. He sat up, his hands scraping the gritty surface of the cell, putting himself into a cross-legged position as he began to speak.

Tegal: It isn't as if just by glaring at the door it'll magically open by itself, you know.

The girl was silent.

Tegal: ... But whatever floats your boat.

Tegal then leaned his head back onto the cold wall behind him in contemplation.

Samira: Floats your boat..?

She stared at him for a moment, curious about this comment. Yet he made no move to show he would respond.

Samira: Um...

Samira felt a bit out of place in this cell, it had been a while since she had talked to a person, let alone a young boy.

Samira: Eh....

Fustrated, Samira said nothing more. Turning her eyes to the floor, Samira wondered if she should say anything.

The truck bounced up and down as it hit small pebbles. Then suddlenly it got smoother and came to a stop.

Man : This is my first stop, you ganna stay here or go with me?

 Kret : Sure.

The man jumped out of the truck. Kret did the same. He walked around the back of the truck and followed the man, but he stopped when the man walked into a gun shop.

 Man : Are you coming.

 Kret made a simple nod.

Man : Can you help me carry some loads into the truck.

Again Kret nodded. The man carried a couple of large boxes stacked on top of each other. Kret followed and did the same.

 Man : Thats it.

They both climbed back into the truck. Kret leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.

Vector is peeking around a corner

Vector: So there's one, two, three guards, K.*Grabs an antennae and a loose brick and attacks the guards, shoving the antennae down a guard's throat, hitting a guard with the brick and clotheslines the last guard, takes the gun and shoots the K.O.'ed guard*

Tegal half opened his amethyst eyes to peek at the pale girl, her dark clothing a complete contrast to her skin. She was still. Perhaps embarassed from those mumblings of incoherent speech, thought Tegal. He closed his eyes however, paying the girl no mind.
While in contemplation he dozed off, an odd dream filling his head. In the waking world a sudden whistling was heard, an ominous tone coming from his lips. His body was doing it of it's own accord, it would seem. Just as fast as he had lost conciousness, he awoke with a start. He opened his now bloodshot eyes to see the girl staring at him as if he were some sort of oddity.

Crossing his arms and sighing simultaneously he began to speak.

Tegal: ... What?... Fine. For once, I'll bite. Name's Tegalad, though you can call me by Tegal... How 'bout you, little girl?

As shurik waited to close in he saw the weird person disperse of his teammates. HE watched as the other fugitives just stared, perhaps happy or disturbed, but Shurik, could not longer accept this.

Shurik: *To radio* Units down backup needed! He throws the radio away. This is my back up...

Out from the inside of his suit he takes out bullets; apperantly some kind of hightech bullets and loads them into the practice gun, he then quietly aimed at Vector, but still having a concious, pointed toward the ceiling above him.

Shurik: Hey you little man! Vector turns about, as he did, Shurik triggered his weapon into the ceiling. The small time the fbullet lew thru the air, it made a small whistling sound, and when made impact with the ceiling a white instant flash occurred just before the ceiling crumbled on Vector.

The other two fugitives just watch and seem to conjure a plan to get out, but before anything was carried out, Shurik had laoded another bullet and was already aiming at them.

Shurik: Spiting on the ground I can tell you are wizards, but my bullets don't give a damn. You are re-under arrest for trying to escape.

The other two werent listening, and we about to move, when SHurik almost triggered his weapon, however, other soldiers arrived and arrested them all again. Shurik was left aiming, and breathing a bit heavely.

Soldier: Alright Shurik, you stopped them, you proved them. And you also almost destroyed the prison.

Shurik dissed him

Shurik: Shut up. This place can take a hell of a lot more beating. After that he watch as the soldiers took ALL the fugitives back underground and again dispersing them of their weapons. He smiled proudly.

Shurik: That's right slugs, keep slithering back to your home! Hmph..! He walked away toward the stairs and out of the building, not really caring what happened to the other soldiers. Outside, just along the wall, he slided down and lean against it.

Shurik: Weaklings... would've they shoot this would not have happened. Spits to his side, and on his spit a crimson color shows.  .... Tch...

OOC: Yes all the fugitives have been recaptured. It's not godmodding dont worry about it, We are just moving toward the main plot. Or so Mid will prolly show us.

OOC: Sorry, I wasn't able to catch up. If all fugitives are recaptured then, since my chars are trying to get away, I'll have them recaptured.

Dalfas: "Melwen... can you sense anything?"

Melwen did not listen to Dalfas. She was staring at the corridor.

Melwen: "We won't get away Dalfas..."

She sounded so deeply sad that Dalfas could almost feel the same. He trusted his friend very much and when she said they were beaten, he couldn't believe it.

Dalfas: "Melwen... as long as we are together and our ideals stand, it will take more than some wardens to stop us! Let us give them something to remember us!"

Melwen stared at Dalfas and smiled.

 Melwen: "Dalfas... I..."

Suddenly, some screams stop their conversation, and thousands of wardens appear. A struggle begun and many wardens fell before they coul beat Dalfas. Melwen didn't make it in time to get one of her spells ready, it was too sudden...

Warden: "Take them into the highest security prison... they'll do good in the mission..."

Samira: Little...Girl..? *Glares* My name is Samira, and I would like it if you didn't call me little girl....

She said nothing for a moment as Tegal watched her. She sighed.

Samira: How long are we going to be here?

Tegal: ...I don't know. Might be a while for a good while, Sam.

She twitched at the shortened name, one which her father use to call her.

Samira: Oo..

                            ~~~~~~Tyain~~~~~~
Opening the door, Tyain surveyed the room. It looked extremely neat, typical of Argent. He took everything serious, which the other guards found annoying. Tyain spotting Argent sitting by his desk, he seemed to be reading over some files. It was a while before he looked up, nodding to Tyain.
Argent: Ma'am.
Tyain: Please, spare me..*smirks* I came here to talk as.. friends. *Argent says nothing, so she continues. I don't want you to go on this quest with doubt stalking you everywhere you walk. I need you're full trust beca--
Argent: How can I give you my complete trust? We're going on a journey with a bunch of convicts that wont think twice on murdering us when we're sleeping. This is complete Bullshyte!
Tyain watched Argent for a moment, thinking about her words. What could she do? He had a point, and yet..she could think of nothing to say.
Argent: Are you going to say anything?
Tyain: Huh..? Oo..Argent, we all have to do things we don't like. For those we love...and for those we hate.. I picked you because I could trust you. Please, don't desert me when I need your help the most. There aren't many people I can count on, and I really need someone whose trustable near me. I'm taking your words to heart, but I unlike you, have no choice but to do this.
Turning to leave, she heard Argent starting again but it seemed he thought better of it. Tyain stopped for a moment, but did not face Argent.
Tyain: I just hope that you choose to stand by me, I wont think any different of you if you choose otherwise...
On that note, Tyain left Argent's room. Leaving him to search his own thoughts.
