Title: It's Back!
Post by: Archem on May 08, 2006, 11:44:00 PM
Sorry in advance if this is the wrong section, but it seemed to fit the bill at the time. Here's a pic from Garry's Mod that I made. I plan to share these pics, and you can too if you want to (and if you have Garry's Mod, of course!).

Half-Life 2. Actually, that's a Counter-Strike: Source level, but it's all the same.

Oh, if you were asking what that pic was, it's a guy on a skateboard who slammed into the ERROR message and is about to land on the other guy. Sorry if Photobucket resized it too small... IF that's what you meant.

Dude, that last one was really good, I have garrys mod lying around somewhere but I suck at using it.

For those who dont know what garrys mod is, its a mod that allows you to play around with half life 2 and counter strike: source models, to make a custom scenery and then take pictures :)

Thanks for the compliment. I just wish I could have gotten the turd into the shot. It wold have been great... Yes, there's a freaking log in the toilet in cs_militia.

Arg! You ******* son of *****! I'll ******* kill you!!!

Nah, I'm just kidding. But you beat me to it. Making the thread.

Well, I've made two things so far. It's sort of hard making hilarious things.

A GMan Comic (warning: 1 mb) (http://j.1asphost.com/LupineWarlord/Charas/gmansmall.png), and a bigger one here (http://j.1asphost.com/LupineWarlord/Charas/gman.png) (that one is 4 mb, lol)

And also, an image macro. With swearing. I can't see ****! (http://j.1asphost.com/LupineWarlord/Charas/icantseeshitheadcrabs.png) I guess I like making big things.

Oh whatever 1asphost decided to die so I don't know when it'll be back.

Post by: Archem on May 10, 2006, 08:04:50 PM
The second one was pretty funny, but I don't quite get the first one. Is it supposed to be some sort of tragedy, betrayal, or weird thing that makes the G-Man look funny? I'm working on a new one right now (not right now, though), and I hope it's good. I never plan mine, so I never know what they'll be until I'm finished. Like Lamaar on the pot. I just spawned Lamaar to keep the game from messing up at the start (some weird glitch that makes it impossible to spawn things unless I load it up again or spawn something before moving), and I walked it to the toilet, tried to throw it in, realized that it wasn't going to fit, fixed it, and threw in a newspaper, and I got a pic. Yays. Also, I was wondering when you were gonna notice this, Razor. You did mention it in your Half-Life 2 thread... Oops... I went a little crazy on the commas back there, huh?

EDIT: Oh, and although this one isn't a GMod pic, it was still pretty funny when I died like this:
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g32/Archem2/CTHasBeenPlanted.png
CT has been planted!
Larger image:

Title:
Post by: Razor on May 10, 2006, 08:36:50 PM
Noone ever gets that one. Considering how infinately long it took me (I kept dying on that level, which meant I had to start on the other side of that huge bridge, and as we all know, crossing it aint the easiest)

Anyway, basically its a normal scene of shaking hands, but then he pushes her off and its crazy! Yes, you're right, GMan's unusual appearance is what makes it funny.
Title:
Post by: Archem on May 11, 2006, 12:38:47 AM
Oh, the irony!

EDIT: I just realized that it's a bit hard to see the picture. It's a zombie with a shotgun surrounded by a group of Father Gregorys that are acting like zombies.
Larger image:
http://d.1asphost.com/Archem/I-rony!.PNG
Side Note: The zombie is surrounded with blood-splattered, saw blade containing Father Gregorys. The Father is known for being the only person brave enough (or just crazy enough) to live in the headcrab (zombie-making blob) infested Ravenholm. The irony is that he and his trusty shotgun have taken on swarms of zombies, but the roles have been switched for this picture.

I actually made this one yesterday, but I didn't feel like posting it. A title added to the bottom makes it so much easier to understand.

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g32/Archem2/OhthatGMan.png
The GMan was a bully in his frat-boy college days.

EDIT: Grr... I hate the freakin' image resizings... It's the GMan about to throw a gas can at Dr. Mossman and Dr. Kleiner.

Why, thank you! I should try to plan some out to be more internationally recognizable, resized or otherwise. A compliment is always good, and I've recieved two. That's gotta mean something.
EDIT/NEWS: All pictures of mine now have a link under them that takes you to a full sized version of them.

New one!

Lamarr's Last Stand
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g32/Archem2/LamaarsLastStand.png
Larger image:
http://d.1asphost.com/Archem/Lamaar's%20Last%20Stand.PNG

News: The "Side Note" has been added to pictures that require previously ascertained information from Half-Life or Half-Life˛ to give viewers some background information and to make it easier for them to get any and all jokes in the picture.

Side Note: That's Lamarr the headcrab, Dr. Kleiner's pet (Kleiner is the guy in the back). He feeds Lamarr watermelon because it's shaped like a head and Lamarr likes how it tastes. Barney (the guy with the gun) has a strong distaste for the "head-humper".

Post by: Razor on May 13, 2006, 01:54:52 AM
Lol, nicely done. I haven't been able to make up too many things lately.
However, I'm waiting (well not really) for a Gordon Freeman model.
Since Valve didn't make one, these dutch modders took it unto themselves to make it. It's coming out when they release their new mod.

Sure, it's not completely perfect, but it's about the best the internet has to offer. Trust me, I've looked.
Title:
Post by: Archem on May 13, 2006, 03:28:41 AM
Awesomes. That'll come in handy. All I need to do now as far as models go (besides Gordon when it's done) is go and copy the CS: S models into the custom models. Then I can finally use some CTs and Ts instead of Combine and Rebels. If I wanted to, I could prob'ly churn out two or so pics a day (I only have so much drive behind my attempts). I'd like to think my control over the model's position has improved, but I won't feel it has until I hear someone say it...
*stares at Razor*
*and at anyone else who enjoys these pics*
Title:
Post by: Razor on May 14, 2006, 09:07:53 PM
Yes, yes, your positioning is good.

Now, this was an accident. But a hilarious one. And only 94 KB!

Right now I am working on a comic. I hope you've finished HalfLife 2!
Title:

Many moons ago, I think I killed Breen. Or Alyx. Or myself. not important, that GMan pic is, however. I love what you've done with his neck! I was a little sarcastic with my last post; I'm a bit suprised you actually replied to its content. Uh, I'm not sure what to say... I guess "Happy Mother's day" should cover it, though.
Title:
Post by: Razor on May 15, 2006, 06:26:46 AM
Well I don't want this thread to die :p
Anyway, as I said, I broke his neck completely accidental like. Which, I know, sounds a lot like a mafia excuse.

Anyway, as I asked, have you yet passed HalfLife 2?

Watergate: Part two.
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g32/Archem2/WatergateII.png
Larger Image:
http://d.1asphost.com/Archem/Watergate%20II.PNG
Side note: The infamous Watergate scandal involved a group known unofficially as "The Plumbers" broke into the Democratic party (one of the two major political parties of the U.S.) and began to steal files. The Plumbers's main proirity was to stop any leaking of political data, but they were ordered by higher powers and by an organization officially known as the Council to Re-elect the President (due to lack of public support for the government during the Vietnam War, they were commonly known as CREEP). They were caught in the act stealing files in the Watergate hotel/office building one night and were sent to prison. Due to some loose-lipped people, it was eventually discovered that these well-dressed crooks were ordered to do their heinous acts by Richard Nixon, the current president of the U.S. Google "watergate scandal" for more information.

Upon seeing your new sig, I have a picture for you!
Title:
Post by: Razor on May 19, 2006, 05:51:37 AM
Lol I already have that. It's a pretty good photoshop however the right one does not look as stern as the HL2 one.
Title:
Post by: Archem on May 19, 2006, 09:59:51 PM
My friend said that, too. I hope that they tighten his face muscles a bit and square his jaw a little more... Then he'll look perfect.
But then again, from what I've heard about Episode One, he starts to lose control over his "powers", and I can see that he looks worried in the picture. Mebe it's foreshadowing? Also, DarkFlood (the friend who noted that the G Man looks too different) is gonna be bringing some GMod pics over soon (he uses my internet when he comes over because he doesn't have it), and he claims that they're good.
We'll see...
Title:
Post by: Razor on May 19, 2006, 10:45:35 PM
As I said, it's just a photoshop. Possibly not even by Valve.
And from what I've read, G-Man has lost control over Freeman. Something about a 3rd party who has him, maybe Race X? We can only speculate. :)
Title:
Post by: Archem on May 19, 2006, 11:36:50 PM
No, Race X was a Gearbox creation, and Valve won't re-sign their contract with Gearbox (don't know why), as was evident with the lack of Half-Life: Decay on the PC. I played it on the PS2, and it was pretty cool, but too short. On the PC, it was supposed to be longer... Anywho, that's some pretty cool Photoshopping, if it really is Photoshopped... In any case, it does help one to speculate the graphical superiority HL3 may have in store for us.
Title:
Post by: Razor on May 19, 2006, 11:56:00 PM
We've still got a lot of episodes before we get to Half Life 3. And I can't wait for some more G-Man sightings. :)

So, Basically Half Life: Opposing Forces was not canon? How mind screw over. Can I get some sources on that though? I have a friend who much enjoys OF and HL in general.

Anyway, looky what I made!

You know what's funny? I never beat OpFor... I got to the final boss, but I never killed him. And I managed to skip a weapon in that game,too... OpFor WAS an official expansion, but due to their contract, Gearbox wasn't allowed to do anything that interrupted the story. Blue shift has a few interesting little things (one of the tvs on a room has Gina from Decay pushing the cart with the crystal that Gordon pushes into the energy field), several of which tie into other parts of the Half-Life story (and yah, you do have to transport that crystal in Decay), but nothing too serious. Keep an eye out for a HL2 mod called Black Mesa: Source, though. It's HL1, but rebuilt entirely. I'm really looking forward to it, as it'll add to the story and tie things together better. I'll do my best to keep you updated on the story, unless you'd rather look into it yourself.
In the meantime, here's a GMod pic (I didn't make it, but it's just so great that I can't pass up showing it!):
Title:
Post by: Razor on May 20, 2006, 12:45:32 AM
lol I love it
At what point in HL1 do you push a cart with crystal in it? I don't recall that :|

And Black Mesa: Source? Is that HL1 made with HL2 or what? Because I have Half Life: Source, which game with my Half Life 2 GOTYE.
Title:
Post by: Archem on May 20, 2006, 12:48:23 AM
Remember at the very beginning of Half-Life 1? You puch a cart with a yellow-orange crystal into an energy field, then things freak out. And yeah, Black Mesa: Source is HL1 redone from the ground up with the HL2 engine. It puts Half-Life: Source to shame.
Here: http://www.blackmesasource.com/flash/index.html
Check out the media section to see why I want this mod so much.
Title:
Post by: Razor on May 20, 2006, 12:51:46 AM
Holy Christ, I'm going to get that for sure.
Oh and yes, that crystal. Of course :p

Gee, that mod makes me wish I had waited until it came out before I played HL1 all the way through.
Title:
Post by: Archem on May 20, 2006, 02:15:17 AM
Ditto.
Wait, no. Then I prob'ly wouldn't have picked up HL2, since I wasn't sure if I'd like the series until after I beat HL1... I'm glad I spent $8 at GameStop one night. But at least I'll get to enjoy it again! :D
Oh, and here's a site to look out for if you want to play Decay one day: http://www.hl2source.com/?content=projects&id=decay
I've already played it, though. I might play it again when the mod releases.

Title:
Post by: Archem on May 26, 2006, 11:30:09 PM
Lol! That's ONE way of looking at it! No, actually that's Administrator Wallace Breen, a pretty critical character to the story. He's pretty much just thrown in there because he most resembles a pirate out of the other character models.
EDIT: DarkFlood left a copy of his GMod pics on my computer. I'm not sure if he wants me to show them yet, but once I get the ok (or he posts them himself), expect to laugh; his are pretty much gold in a laughable form.

And there's one more that I found a few months ago. I just wish I could remember where I found it...
There's one more video from that google search, but it wasn't as funny... You can check it out, if you want to...

I've seen the second one, and I don't like it. The first is pretty cool, and it would seem that the third is a collaboration of, like, five other G-Man videos.

Nope. There's a program that lets you do that pretty easily. I don't know what it's called, though. And I doubt that it's free... I still want it, though.

Half-Life 4 G-Man.
I swear.
Oh, and a Gordon Freeman model for GMod:

Go with the left one, oddly posed Gordon!

Tell Hitler that I quit!

Side Note: The Nazi soldier is sitting on a cloud, handing a bazooka to the American soldier. The blood on him suggests that he died; perfect.

BUT
I've started skinning. :D

ROFLCAKE! You should do a tutorial on how to do skins, it could really help out... And it'd help get to page 7 oh so much faster...

I had to download one program for ripping, one for converting the files into something editable, Photoshop (already had it :p) and one last one for converting them back to something Steam can use.

ROFL! This's another one from Planet Half-Life, and the second one that I felt was funny enough to show outside of the site:

Oh, the irony!

EDIT: By the way, I am working on another one, so don't feel like I've forgotten the few of you faithful to the thread. Also, 10 already? I knew I made a few, but ten? And am I the only one who finds it weird that it took nearly 7 pages before one of us broke the single-digit barrier? The CSS pic, the other source pics, and the etc. pics weren't counted.

Very nice. They did a good job with the smoke effect too.
Title:
Post by: Archem on June 15, 2006, 08:50:26 PM
Although it's not the one I've been working on (it won't load that particular pic's save file...), this one more or less fell together...

Friends 'Til the End...
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g32/Archem2/Friends.png
Larger Image:
http://d.1asphost.com/Archem/Friends.PNG
Side Note: I went to cs_italy to try and recreate the aforementioned pic (cs_assault was being a little bastard), and when I spawned these CTs, they landed like that. Well, after adding some blood and bullet holes (and a visitor who very well may be the cause of the blood...), I whipped up this simple, yet worthwhile pic.

Nice, though I would recommend making G-Man less visible, like walking down the stairs or something. Just out of sight, so you can see him, but he's not as obvious. You know what I mean?
Title:
Post by: Archem on June 15, 2006, 10:17:11 PM
I tried to hide him at first, but then I decided it'd help add to the picture just a little bit to make him clearly visible. Of course, Mebe I could hide him in a few pictures in the future... This one wasn't meant to be hidden in the final version.

Also, there are no models really fat enough. Well, not fat, just... big.
People are not fed enough in City 17.
Title:
Post by: Archem on June 17, 2006, 03:35:01 AM
Hehe. That's pretty good. I would totally make one of me, but I don't know how, there's nobody fat enough, and none of them have the kind of hair I have. I like it, if that's any consolation.

Well, I've finally gotten back on track to working with Garry's Mod. Many things interrupted my GModding, including Oblivion and school, but I'm getting into the swing of things again. And it's a good thing, too, because I've got a handful of unfinished works saved to work on. I realize that this is a jumbo topic kick, but I really don't think that anyone wants me to post a million times and make a new topic for one that exists already just to show off my wares, so please don't bitch. And if you must bitch, please do so in a kindly manner. Anyways, on to the picture of today.

Not bad, but you seem to be losing your touch... Positioning problems prevented it from being perfectly executed...

I should work with visual gags more... But they're really not my style, so I'll need some practice with that...

EDIT: Comic in the works! Expect my first comic to show up in a few hours/days, ok?
