Title: My tiny unimportant project...

The current project (other than the other one I am keeping secret):

Project 2 is the one I willt lel people about. It's working title is "The Game with a Lot of Plot twists."

Plotline: You are the son of Geremy Hecker, the village doctor. Your name is John Hecker. One day he sends you to get supplies, so you must go get them. SOunds short and stupid? Of course not, while you do get teh supplies do yoru dad, you have to fight a war, destroy demons, make peace treaties, fall in love, distroy the moon, and many other things. Yeah. Lots of stuff.

Characters:
Yeah....this will soon be posted hwne I have the characters finnished. And when some of them die.

Features:
1. Unique items
2. Unique skills
3. Ripped of graphics form other games.
4. Unique war system.
5. An amazing plot.
6. With only compelting the main quest: At least 40 hours.
7. Sub-quests: at least 3 in every city.

Demo: There will be no demo. Or maybe tehre will be. Probably not. I hate demos...

Project COmpletion: 0.8% (completeing storyline)

The only thing is the compeltion is now: 1.0% (first town finnished, storyline still being done, characters being finalised)

I have a story.

 Basically your this doctor's son who must go get some medicine. So once your bing the mediicne, you and your best friend decide to explore the cave, but soemthign went horribly wrong and you have to seek out the other exit.

Once you get out that exit, you find out your on another island (as your a citizen of an island kingdom), and while trying to sail back home, the Menion empire (it's all desert) attacks the ship, and so they go adrift.

They land on the enemy's land, and there they must try and find a way to escape before the empire finds out they are loyal to the island kingdom. To do this, thyemust cross thr border, cross a huge desert wasteland, and cross another border (there are many kingdoms in this world, not just one or two), and unto a allied kingdom.

 Once you get there, the empire has managed to settle a base ont he moon, and is threatenign the good guy's moon. So you must sneak into the base and destroy the moon so you can earn a ride home. Somehow though, the ship takes you to the island kingdom's capital, and there the king orders you to go to the shrine so they could get their gods on their side, as they seem to be ignoring the kingdom.

 Once the chracater gets in the shrine, well...even though I have it compelted I don;t want to reveal much after that.

I am just completing the ending, I know how it ends, but I also need roomf or a sequel just in case.

--Spoiler (DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW, HIGHLIGHT IT TO READ IT.)--

 Before they encounter somebody, it is ntoed somebody very imporntant dies. What they encounter there is a Demon called Menion. He is the secret emperor of the Menion Empire, and apparently you ruined his plans. He also killed of all  to make it like you killed your own troops.

 You go to a different continent, and encoutner races thought to be extinct (Dwarves, Elve,s and such) but hidden away from the humans in that continent. You join forces with them, and force an alliance.

 The alliance must wage war against teh continent you left, now under the control of the Demon Boss. So you wage a huge war, probably tkaing up half the game.

At the end, at the last battle, you encounter the demon boss, free your friend, killt eh demon boss, and save the world. You killed a demon, and the Demon Boss becomes the second demon ever to be killed (this si done in case I feel liek making a prequel).

There is way more than that, but that is basically the whole story.

Your story need structure. It seems random and lacking of a purpose. I'm not saying it's a bad idea at all. Im just saying it needs more of a main point. I guess you could say the plot is two boys have to find their way back home, but then it just spirals into a lot more stuff. It's not definite.

Then again, it could just be the way you described it. I mean, if that moon thing happening is the climax then you should at least have hints to it during the whole game, so it dosent look it just randomly sprang up out of nowhere. To me they looked unrelated and random. You could definatly make an idea like this work if you somehow relate one situation to the next, and larger situations to the entire game itself.

Yeah, the differnant parts of your story don't seem to be connected to each other, and if they're not connected with eachother, the game will lose the sence of unity, which is a bad thing.

I didn't tell you the main point.

That was part of what I left out. If I put it in there, it would ruin everything, though everything is connected.

But yeah half of the game is them getting back, but their adventure won't end there.

Oh yeah it has space and sea battles. And the land battles.

Hmmm... Could you put a spoiler warning on it or something, because it's hard for me to understand and to help with the plot unless I know how it all connects.

The story you have sounds pretty interesting, but I do need to know more.

hmm, is this cliche?, im sure ive heard loads of other ideas like going to deliver or fins a small item and end up fighting in a war or something like that, sounds interestign though

I don't know if I'm just being stupid, but...rather than cross the desert and everything why didn't they go back the way they came? If that's impossible, then how did they know the way to sail home?

1. Kind of cliche, at first, but then it turns original. Kind of. Well it has cliche parts and original parts.

2. Well, the KIDS themselves DON'T know how. The friendly kingdom obviously DOES, along with their kingdom. Oh, they knew to the south lay a neutral kindom, then tonortheast to that kingdom is the friendly kingdom. Common sense in that continent....plus a companion tells them (though he doesn;'t know the way to sial back either).

Careful about using a demon for the antagonist. In my experience, most people don't like demons because they are overused, and because they usually are very flat characters, as demons are always cast as inherently evil beings. In my opinion, the best villians are those that are either
          1. "Disney" villains, or villains that are completely evil, but have some quirk or oddity that makes them interesting, such as Hades from the movie "Hercules"(Ok, the voice actor did the most to make this guy cool) or Kefka from FF6.
          2. Human villains, or villains which are not completely evil. These villains are usually very deeply developed characters become bad through some experience, and sometimes retain some goodness in them, such as the Dark Lord Vader himself.
           There are probably other types you could use also, but you certainly might want to develop your villain a bit more.

Also, do you have any character descriptions and names? I'd like to hear about them.

i'll agree with yankee on the villian thing for the most part, to me it really depends on how you build up the major villian.
if they go through the entire game and never see a cut scene involveing or at least showing for a breif momment the major villians evilness (if thats a word ^_^; ) then they aren't as interesting. however like yankee said above, kefka is a good evil villian, yelling at troops, poisioning his own troops to kill all resistance at his enemys base, and killing his leader, showing their evil can help show their background or at least put more detail into them than if they just showed up to fight.

 Who said I am using default demons?

In this game there are good, neutral, and evil demons, though people mistrust demons thanks to the minority evil (they make more of a name for themselves).

The main character will actually encounter a demon shopkeeper though he is bankrupt.

Since rascism will be visited in this game, the most race that is prejuiced the most is Demons.

And yes there are clues that the main villain is actually a demon, but you get to know the main villain more furing the war.

Just make sure the villain isn't a flat character. The games with demons that I've seen usually don't develop them very well; however, I do like the racism theme idea; you can use that in the plot. Your shopkeeper could be bankrupt because no one will buy from him, for example. The main villain could be like Magneto from X-men, angered by human oppression so much that he believes that the only way to stop all racism in the world is to destroy all humans. Just play around with some ideas and try to weave them all together.

Yeah the shopkeeper is in debt because nobody buys from him.

Rascism will be in the game, just liek politics, illegal aliens, religion, crime, war, peace, love, and other aspects.

Also the main villain's motive is not due to rascism towards demons, but he thinks humans are inferior and hsould be abolished, or enslaved. Still he has a consious which will lead to his downfall, and how a 13-14 year old beat him.

He sounds just like satan. That's actually a compliment because it can help give your players some fear. I have a villain similar to yours in my game.

Still, I think demons shouldn't be called a race. In christianity, demons are just angels who joined satan or they were forced to follow him. Unless you are using chinese, japanese, and Hindu demons. Unless the demons are trying to atone and become saved, I can't see how any can be good or be considered their own race. This is just my opinion though.

I am a christain myself, and know what demons are, aka falleen angels.

This is a different world, which just happens to have the races (and their names) elves, dwarves, humans, demons. It also has original races, though only dragons and humans exsist, or thought to (other than demons).

Angels left the world a millenia before the game begins, so you won';t meet one. I mean it.
