personally i Will no matter what buy a Wii and PS3 when they come out as playstation makes the best rpg's and the wii will have Twilight Princess in which i have been waiting forever and a day for...
but the Xbox and Xbox live SUCK <(my personal oppinion so don't kill or flame me for it :P )

I'm gettting a PS3, but I'll wait a year or two when I can get it for $300, theres no way I'm gonna spend $600 to play games (+the cost of the actual game). I only spent $450 on my whole computer..
I 'might' get a wii, I'm gonna wait on that too and see how the controls work out. Yesturday, I was playing Draken: The ancient gates on my ps2. The character could jump around, do a backflip, land behind the enemy, and slice them to bits, she could roll to the side, and do all kinds of moves. The motion thingy is cool on the wii controller, but I don't think it would be able to emulate stuff like that as well as a normal controller.
And in a sword fighting game (or most games actually), how would the motion sensor do anything? You could swing your sword or whatever around, but what if your attack gets blocked? You're arm/controller would be in a differant location than the sword.
I think the whole concept of the wii controller is cool, but I don't think it'll be able to work out as good as I hope.

and dragonblaze, i'd spend that $5 to download the games i miss from my childhood that i can't find or never had the time to play, let alone my favorite games mainly because this way i can play them laying back on my couch or lazy boy recliner instead of at my computer desk..
and when i say to download games, i mean the good ones... ff1, dragonwarrior1 and so forth, personally i will also download Chrono Trigger as my brother stole my copy for the snes (which yes i still have some older systems :P i also have an original gamboy which i don't use and an N64 and a modded playstation. ) and even though i have a copy of Chrono trigger already it's my favorite game ever, i'll also get ff3 which my brother Also stole.... little bratty thief... it's a good thing for him he lives in another state >.>

I believe its not that Rap is more popular, it gets more attention then rock. Here alot of the Rock, Metal and Hardcore music I listen to isn't on the mainstream, so Rap and Rn B (which Rn B today is a tragedy) is played more often. I'm not saying rock is more popular, beacuase its played *** well, just not to Raps extent.

As for Dance, my mum is a fan of Dance, Trance and a lil bit of Hip Hop. I've heard that music all my live since the day I was born and I still find it that it blows big time. I wasn't interrested in music at all till Red started to give me some rock a long time ago.
I've tried Hardcore too, and even though I dislike it, it's something I can listen to unlike the others.
Try not to judge me if you don't know me. I say to a Hardcore fan that music sucks and he knows I have the right too because I tried his music.

PS3: because of RPGs (FINAL FANTASY XIII!!!!) MGS4 and AC4 mostly and the PS3 will supposedly support dual monitors so im guessing no split screen YAY.
Wii: because I like nintendo and the fun and original games that come out on their systems. PS3 and Xbox really just kinda have more of the same...FPS, RPG, Sports games.... Nintendo always has different and enjoyable games on their systems.
The original xbox never caught my attention because the games either
A) Were on other systems or for computer
B) Werent very good
C) I Didnt care for them
I expect the Xbox360 to be more of the same. The original never really had a huge RPG game-base and it was overpopulated with shooters and sports games (which most were also on PS2 or PC).
Also, Xbox Live, I really dont care for because any game worth playing online is usually more fun on a PC.
Though I guess in terms of graphics, the Xbox had it for last generation but look at how many computers have better graphics than the xbox. The next gen consoles will be the same, graphics will be really sweet for a year then computers will start looking better because Moores Law is still pretty much in effect and computers always get more powerful and overrun the consoles. Already there are comp graphics cards that can smoke PS3, 360 or any consoles graphics. Namely the 7900GTX and X1900XTX so far are the most powerful cards on earth AFAIK and the new consoles use older generation graphics chips.
My first thing will be for me is to upgrade my computer because no matter what console i get, I'm still a PC Gamer at heart. I have prolly 12 Gamecube games but at least 50 PC games and PCs last longer than consoles. PC games have been around since pre-NES and will be around for longer than PS3,4,5,6,7,8........because remember, consoles come from computers...

Anyway, what I meant was that the motion sensor controller couldn't be used to emulate the cool moves seen in some games. Yeah, there is the other controller, but seeing as the other controller is two handed, you couldn't use the motion sensor controller to do the varitety of cool moves. :|

On Topic:
The secondary controller for the Wii doesnt seem too bright... a gamecube controller would actually serve well to emulate the SNES controller since it has the 4 buttons in generally the same area and it has a D-pad and they could transfer the controls of the analog stick into D-pad commands. I also heard that the moon shaped PS3 controller was kicked for a more PS2 looking one (prolly old news by now or a rumor...). Looks like innovation is taking a backseat to practical use.

I doubt that they'll use the Wiimote for those kinds of games (think the Donkey Kong bongo games or Hey You, Pikachu! for an example of games that use a different type of controller from the standard), they'll prob'ly only use it when possible, but make sure to market the controller enough for when the Wiimote just won't do. And in any case, "Wiimote" is dead-set in my mind as the proper termonology. :D

Consider the Ps2: it launched at a high price with few good games. It is far more worth it waiting for the price to drop and many games you want to come out.
The main reason I want the Ps3 is due to the Final Fantasy series, which I consider as the greatest game series of all time, and the abundance of other good games (MGS for instance).
Wii... that controller looks painful to me. Even the one that doesn't resemble a television remote looks quite impractical and I think that the motion sensors will complicate gameplay, not enhance it. There was this controller which came out for the Ps1 which operated with motion sensory (obviously won't be as well developed as the Wii's one) and I found it was just annoying and I turned off the motion sensors very quickly. I just don't find the idea of using motion sensitivity appealing, much like I dislike the DS' touchscreen. That said, the Super Smash Brothers game will be very good I'd imagine, although I think the Zelda game is overhyped but that's only because I feel Zelda is overrated.
The Xbox 360 I have no interest in as I do not like Xbox as a whole and in my opinion, it has good specifications but little good games.
I'm still not bored of videogames... I consider myself a fairly hardcore gamer and it's very satisfying being good at games. RPGs in particular I like as I love to get immersed in the storyline, music etc. A good RPG can live in my imagination for ages afterward, and some game music is truly sublime and beautiful (just about most of the music in Suikoden II for instance, Rokkaku being a nice highlight... so beautiful...)
So yeah, Ps3 :D

I don't see why Zelda is overrated, though. Zelda is the best series the company's got! I'm not about creating discord, though... My personal opinion!
The more I think about it, the more I say that the controller will be awesome. I mean, it's not like every game developer will use it in its games! I'm pretty sure some of them will omit the motion sensor just like some omitted the touch screen for the DS. Think about it for a sec... and again, not looking down at any of you.
And after many years of being the little guy, Nintendo might have finally found the Super Mushroom that will bring it to the top once more (a little Mario humor never hurt anyone (and yeah, that was a bad joke))!

Still XBox 360 looks good to me. I liked Halo and a lot of shooting games. Plus Mistwalker is planning some good RPG games for it.
Wii: What can I say? It looks fun. Plus it's will be the cheapest out. The graphics look REALLY NICE.
For me, I'll just have to wait for game reviews. FF lost a lot and Square-Enix is losing money so they're working really hard to make what's left of their games good. From the reviews on 12, they are doing a good job. I think I'm gonna get a Wii first then the PS3. The Xbox has gotta wow me.
