Title: New Children!

Given that RTP only allows a few kids, I had fun messing around with the girl kid and a couple haircuts and recolors.  Did this back in college, so it's been a few years, but at the time there was a problem with people submitting stolen resources and it looked like the Complete Resources were going to be scrapped.   :(

But, thankfully, I'm back, and the trouble seems to have been dealt with, so now that I've relocated the files, here they are (assuming I can figure out how to put them in this post correctly).

Oh, and I already uploaded these to Complete Resources, too.

P.S. Credit would be nice but is not necessary.  If you decide to credit, "Kilyle" or "Alethia" would be fine, or "Alethia Cyrus" if you care to get more precise.

Here's a set with the faerie recolors, just for the heck of it.  I've seen better faeries, but not recolors, and I think these are quite decent for a homogenous faerie population.

RTP style children are easy enough to come by.

What I'd like to see are some rudora or some other types of children.

If it was right before the problems with my grandma...I'm sorry.  I haven't been on the forum for months...got on just a couple weeks ago.

Mind re-posting the request?  (I'm assuming you're thinking of the right person...I can do some rips and edits but I'm not all that hot.  But at least I have time again.)

As for children...well, for one, villages tend to have kids SOMEWHERE.  If not, you just wonder...where are the kids?  And if you happen to use RTP or RTP edits or RTP-style characters, there are only like three kids to pick from (of the girls, I mean), and they're all recolors.  These at least have different hairstyles and such.

I think I made more, but I'd have to hunt thru and find 'em again...and that's assuming they didn't crash with my computer, of course.



Oh! I forgot!

The MAIN reason for this type of child...is for the flashback.  I specifically chose hair from bigger chars so you could do that.  I was going to go through and do all the RTPs, but I ended up moving on to other projects before I got far with this.  Anyway, say you have Char A and Char B and you want them to meet in the past, or be turned into kids by an evil enemy...well, there you go.

I don't make faces; were you the one who was making the faces?  You made me one, looked pretty good (hair had a little too much volume perhaps)...only thing was that you left in the goggles when I'd asked it to be changed to a headband.

I'm going to be trying to work on tilesets and more character sets soon.  Now that I understand sprites and colors a little better, I think I can make a decent original sprite, and I'm certain that I can make some good tiles.  Whether they're good enough to post...we'll see.  But I thought I ought to at least contribute something--after all, the only thing I've done to date was that tutorial on color use.  And these kids and faeries look pretty good to me, so I thought they might be useful to someone, at least.

Again: If you want me to make a kid version of a specific RTP--or just start making kid versions of all the RTPs--let me know.  I love having a little focus!


ETA: Oh, lol...that previous post didn't load before I typed my post.  Yeah, that's me.

ETA2: Oh, I get it...you "made a request for me" meaning you made something that I requested.  I got the subject and object mixed up when I read that.  Sorry.  I blame it on the mosquitos and the HEAT.

The recolours look good overall, but you need darker outlines.

You too ZKX, your FE face needs darker outlines on the coloured parts.    The face looks fine and all, but it barely looks Fire Emblem esque.

Yeah, s'okay--you gave me one, no need to fix it if you don't care to.

Darker outlines?  Do you think the RTPs themselves need darker outlines?  Because I'm using the exact same colorschemes and each character already has a pretty dark outline.  Even if you mean interior outlines...well, it's what the RTP had to begin with, and I don't see a huge problem.  If there IS a huge problem, can you explain it better?

Thats from a few months ago dude. And anyways, there's only 2-3 spots I see that need a purple outline. Although that was one of my first custom bodies so it was a bit off.

You know, that's true. Matching children charasets are hard to find. I just may use these, they're good edits.

Title: Boys - Set 01

First Set of Boys

The hair is not as unruly as the RTP boy's; I got it from Char4's teen.  Needed a little editing but not bad.  The colorsets I got from various characters.

I made the orange overalls from the mustached man's orange outfit colorset, but I'm not sure it works out...anyway, at least there's some variety.  (NOTE: Updated orange outfit to include green shoes; updated version is in Resources thread.)

I'll be working on other kids as I get the chance; I already have about three other good hairstyles I found and made a kid or two from, but I haven't made them into sheets yet (I think a good clean sheet of recolors is more helpful than a bunch of mismatched and overlapping sets).  I hope to get them out soon.

As before...no credit necessary, but it would be appreciated.  And I'd like to know where my edits are going, if that's possible. :sweet:


ETA: Hmm...should I move this to the Resources forum, as opposed to the Gallery one?  Is the Gallery for mostly resources you don't intend to share, or resources for systems other than RPGMaker2k3, or what?

Gallery is to show off your works of art, and the resource section is to show off your custom made resources...

Yeah, I don't think it matter too much. lol

These are all very good edits and recolors. I'll prolyl end up using them. Good job! :)

New hair is already here--for the boys.  That's over in the Resources section, where I've started up a new thread.  I think these files belong over there instead of over here, so go check 'em out!  :heart:

As to clothes...I'll be working on that as soon as I can get to it, because it bugs me, too.
