Post by: Wavedude on July 13, 2006, 04:27:46 AM
Hey, Im getting back into midi stuff and I was wondering, where can I get free MIDI programs?
I also have a MIDI controller keyboard, is there anything compatable with that?

Yes, there is. The only problem though, is the good programs cost some pretty big bucks. (Not a ton of money, but quite a bit if this is just for a hobby) But, with a midi controller, programs like Noteworthy Composer and Anvil Studio can be used without limiting yourself to a computer mouse. I've only used the good programs though, because my dad actually does use it for business, and has them; so I'm not sure if I'd be able to help you on how you use it with the other programs. But yeah, Noteworthy Composer and Anvil Studio are a couple good free ones that I know of. I'm sure other members know of others though, too.

Anvil is really good.(in my opinion) But I've enver used it's keyboard function. If you're nto too hard up on money and wouldn't mind spending a few bucks, since you already have the keyboard, something I don't even have, you can go to Best Buy and get a MIDI Program that allows you to specifically plugin your keyboard and go crazy. I'd recommend Voyetra for that.
