Well people, many have requested that originality be put in my game. Well i'v decided to move away from the ff fan game and move on to my own game and original main character's.

Maps need work, try not to use rtp cause it's boring, I see no story, plot, anything. All I see are screens.

Its not rtp if you'll go to the website you find that out.

Well character develope throughout the game, each character starts out in thier normal lives but a powerful ruler and sorcerer come to kill them. But the all manage somehow to escape death and then proceed to persue the man and through out the game the story will get deeper and more and more things will happen to reveal the hero's Gate "prophecy". ;) {spoiler}


and heres some stuff from what i put in the the other thread about the game that havent been revised:

Features introduced in the game:


    * I'v introduced a forge your own weapons system were you find the items you need along the way and you forge them together to create weapons
    * I'v also re-introduced Edwards: "Tool" system
    * I'v introduced a soal gem system were you take soal gems monster sometimes drop to a sorceress and she give a choice as to what base statistic you want to raise, the better the stone the better the staatistic.
    * I'v also found a way to bring a limit break system into the game.
    * Locke has a Throw command were you can buy throwing items some of which inflict conditions
    * I'v also given Dark Cecil a new ability to transform into other things (dragons, wearwolves, moogles, so forth and so on...) for a certain amount of time. these creature have different abilities and stay in beast for in battle.
    * I'v introduced a day and night system. When you rest at an INN or in a bed or tent you waake up in the night if it was day, OR in he day if it was night.
    * Also a 25%/50%/100% potions not unlike that of legend of the dragoon (great great game)
    * Some new elemental tools for Edward.
    * Some batte and system graphics like from FF VII message boxes
    * Music from various FF and Square games



Things considering to induce into game:


    * Armor and wizards robes drawbacks such as intellegence, hp, so on and so forth...
    * a disease system (much like in morrowind) were the character can be infected and turn into a wearwolf at night, or a vampire who takes damage in sunlight but extraordnary powers at night, or perhaps somthing else (suggestions are most wanted here)
    * or perhaps a drug smuggling side ques were if your touched bye a guard and you have the stuff you can either give it up and pay a fine of you can fight the guard (or somthing).



All suggestions and constuctive criticism is most welcome. I hope to have a site foe my game up with the next week or two and there you will be able to download the demo.

all the battle charas iv used are from the online generator here. i used some rtp for random npc's, and alot of the charas in my game are generated by the shara generator. Absolutly NONE of the tilesets are RTP (the graphics that came with the game from the start: ( for meiscool). Yeah a few of the mosters are Rtp too.

Those are still RTP. When someone say RTP, they mean produced by Enterbrain, at all...

Those chipsets came from an RTP add-on from Enterbrain's main site. If I can find the site, I'll post the link here.

Oh well thanx, but i believe that the chipsets look pretty nice. Yes they are add-on. Though they may be RTP, i think im still gonna use them cause i'v made ALOT of maps already. The Demo will be out within the week so please if you guys have any commment about RPT usage wait until you get the demo, then you can say for yourself if it suits my game. My specialty at thw moment is trying to find out new ways to induce new features and battle systems and so on and so forth. Any suggestions as to what you would like to see in this game would be great.

Not quite; The monster and battle backdrop in the battlescreen you've got there is RTP. That's what those other 2 guys were talking about.

* A note to those who dont like the looks of the game: every time i change something i'll put up updated screenshots in the first post. So keep checking that out and i'll put new stuff on the website as soon as i get it.

No. RTP is run-time-package. Anything added is not part of the original RTP, hence it's not labled sterotypical: RTP.

Well another update for you:

To make my night day system even more believe able theres now for parts:



I'm working on a random raining/ fog days

After dusk a gong sound anouncing the night switch as ON.

After dawn a rooster crows anouncing the day switch as ON.

And I may not have mentioned it before but each characer has 2 different Final weapons with special abilities each. Each final weapon with its own gard to find guide.

The traditional thing were it restores BOTH HP and MP
 is not in this game. Theres now a sorcerer who you can go to in most villages where you can buy you MP back. The more Mp you have the more it costs.

there arre also going to be diseases which you can only cure through a potion woman and you have to get the ingredents for the potion yourself. Which can eather be bought in trade cities (common potions), or you can find them yourself (rare potions).

Marth (Knight) will have special draon transforming abilities, each dragon will have its own special abilities (some run faster, others can fly (teleport), or some are fighters) and can only remain a dragon for a certain amount of time. And the knight will only have 1 MP throughout the game meaning he can only transfor 1 before going to the MP woman again.

Curently working on equippable items that give special ablilties, such as robe that change what the character looks like, robe that add/take away HP; MP; attack; and so forth, give skills, ect...

Also working on pills such as adrenalin (run faster for a time), expensive teleport pills (teleports to friendly castles), ect...

well thats about it for the moment, i think.

Well the moment has arrived... (que drum roll)

The Demo is complete!

Well my Hero's Gate: Rise of fallen Heroes is finished. All the intros and a scope of the first 2 towns is finished. The towns will probably change but its just the scope.

I'm uploading the demo into my website and the link in the dowloads section of the website should work soon.

Ok, here's my Review

Programming:****
I liked the way it was done. There wern't any errors, that I could see anyways.

Story:****

The story was pretty good, i played as cherin, and the litte sister thing was quite touching lol

Graphics:***

I like the chars you choose(similar ones in my game lol) and the mapping wasn't to bad.  The only thing i didn't like was the battle.  The animations first off. They didn't even look like the chars.  You may want to consider using your chars, and turning them into battle chars.  Next, the RTP usage, which can be ok sometimes, in this case I didn't like it. If it wasn't for the battle, i would have given a four.

Play value:***

I understand it was just a demo, but there could have been a couple of things to just shine it up a bit. but i liked it really, I'm sure on the next demo this will be solved, the problem is probably just that its the first demo.


Overall: 3 1/2

Overall it was pretty good, and I am lookng forward to the next demo.

Well there are four differnet intros, the reason it took me so long was because i had to remake them all. so i would reccomend try them all. I'm gonna try to work on beefin up the battle graphics as much as i can. I dont think im gonna change my chipset cause it would just cause alot of agrivations and repitition would only make me wanna start giving up.

As suggested. I have completely changed the battle charas. I'v taken the original walking charas and modified them into battlers. I'm working on the main story line right now and the new demo should be up around the beggining of august. Until then i really encourage anyone that can to download my demo and give me some feedback.

  • Shops close at night and open in the day.
  • In places you aren't supposed to be in guards can't see as well at night.
  • Eventually there will be a night and day temple where you have to switch it back and forth to do certain things and so forth.

Love it.....if anyone posts otherise ill take you to the carwash

It would be even cooler if you made monters you can only fight at night, and possibly side quest that take place only at night.

It would be cool to see monsters sleeping at night in some areas, or (If you have this) animals that walk around towns are asleep.
Kinda like in Secret of Mana.
