Yeah, as the title states, this topic is about movie makers. For some reason I felt the need to make some music videos out of my anime collection. Simple enough. But the Windows Movie Maker that comes standard with the windows desktop install files...well...sucks. It can barely upload anything. So I'm curious to know if there is a movie maker out there that can support more than just MPEG, WMV, and whatever the other 2 files are. Specifically, I mainly need MKV and AVI ready, but others would be very helpful as well.
(AVI is sometimes supported, but other times it says it needs a codec which either I cannot find, or it simply it doesn't exist.)
If you would prefer not to read the short paragraph above, I'll get right to the point here. I need a good movie maker capable of supporting several media files that is preferably free.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Replace Bitcomet with U torrent, and that is true.
And, of course I searched under those, and I kept getting referred to either things that didn't fit the criteria, took me to Windows Movie Maker 2.1, or just were completly . I could use those, but I don't even have a name to another effective movie maker, hence this thread.

That's where Google (http://www.google.com/search?hs=QGU&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial_s&q=%22video+maker%22+mkv+avi&btnG=Search) comes in.
Or you could try a torrent I found. I'll link to it, but that's against the rules. It's full of video programs. I found it while trying to find Fraps. If you have Yahoo! messenger, contact me. I have the same name as here on charas. I'll send you the link there.
there's bound to be at least one program in it you can use. Best of all, it has about 36 peers.

I must refer you back to my previous statement of my searchings. The searchings failed.
The torrent reference. I have plenty of connections, but just typing "Movie Maker" doesn't get me anywhere. I need a specific title. And THAT is what I am looking for. This also applies to the searching.

I searched through the torrent and found that the following programs might be the solution.
In response to your query.
Ace video workshop- Says it can join together .avi files.
Easy video joiner + splitter- The name says it all.
Super video joiner- The name says it all.
Ultra video joiner- The name says it all... again.
They're all on the torrent along with their serial numbers.
If you want the torrent, I can give it to you.

Those weren't what I was looking for. From what I gathered, they were just file converter. That's not what I need. In theory, it could work, but I did not locate one that included the files that I require.
Movie Maker - Import video files, music, image files etc., and create music videos, or AMV's. That is what I mean by movie maker, if I wasn't clear before.

It's movie editing software. you can edit video files, lay on audio files, stuff like that
http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/Products/ShowProduct.asp?PID=965
-
Could it edit various files, such as MKV, and save them into different files, such as MPEG or WMA?

Support for multiple file formats and frame rates
Use multiple file formats and frame rates in the same project or on the same track, and crossfade them on the same track roll — all without conversion or rendering.

MPEG-2 support
Vegas 6 software provides high-quality MPEG-2 encoding for DVD, broadcast and other delivery targets. Capabilities include 2-pass variable bit rate encoding, 4:2:2 High profile/Main level, and Transport stream support.
So in short, yeah.
