Title: I got job!!!
Post by: Meiscool-2 on July 17, 2006, 01:38:05 PM
I am employed! Best... job.. ever. Min-wage, 9 till 5, and because I have family in the workplace, I'm allowed/made to work more hours then the law allows a kid of my age, but other then that, tis good. I'm an assistant to a person that works in an insurance agency under Progressive. I answer the phone, listen to people's problems, put them on hold for long periods of time, rip paper, run errands, get mail, pickup my bosses lunch, ect. This is... my 4th day, my first job, and I haven't been fired yet! I'm free to bring whatever I want to keep me occupied while I work. I can listen to music so long as I don't have it loud or don't miss any calls because of it. I can play my game boy if I want, which I've only done once... meh. I can surf the web, play movies, post on boards... in fact, I'm posting from my desk (yeah! My own desk!) right now.

I'm happy to have a job. I really need it to help out around home. My dad just retired, so money is going to be tight for awhile. Most of my money will probally go to my car, but some will also go back to meh parents.

Be happy with me! Talk about your job... congradulate me... do whatever.

I´m anti-work in a general way, but I won´t explain to further because it involves a lot of philosophical beliefs that would need a whole topic on it.

Anyway, congrats! Just don´t be...to much you, y'know. Keep the job for a while, raise some money and buy a PS3. The change you spend in porn.

I'm getting a job next summer. Most likely at a movie theater.

Post by: Archem on July 17, 2006, 04:04:35 PM
I guess it's too late to get a "summer" job, but I'll prob'ly get one soon enough. Prob'ly at H.E.B., Wal*Mart, Taco Bell (more for the fact that it's my nickname than for me actually wanting to work there :p ), the local pawn shop (err... Mebe not...), GameStop (once my birthday rolls around...), or at a fireworks stand.

Having a job seems awesome for the first few months, but by month 4, you'll be wishing you had a better one.

I HAD a job for 8 months, until I realized that I should try to enjoy what little time I have left without responsibility.

Perfect thinking. By the time you´re 22 and working to live, you´ll realize how idiotic this world is.

Cool beans, bro. Minimum wage must suck, though.(I don't actually know what it is in America any more) Since we're talking about our jobs now :P I make around $22 an hour now, but I only work afternoons, because people don't call tech support at fuckin brunch.. to my dismay. I do enjoy showing up at work fuckered though.

Congratz. I won't be all angry 'cause you got a job before me because this means responsability, and I know two things:

 1 - I dislike responsability.
2 - Eating before going to sleep give nightmares.
 4 - I can't count up to ten.

Number two and five doesn't has anything to do with this subject, but I know that.

I think I have a pretty sweet job. I work at a pizza place, and I sit down, talk to the hot waitresses, and then deliver pizza. 8 bucks an hour, great tips, and I get to cruise around in my car (which I love to do anyways). So, basically, I get paid a good amount to do nothing. And I get 60c per each delivery I make to cover gas, and since my car is amazing when it comes to gas mileage (I went a week on 35 bucks) I think I'm doing pretty well

OMG! You got a job! Ohzomg! We worship you!!!

Seriously, what's the big deal? I'm working since I'm 14, I've had two jobs. My previous one, a paper round, very simple and my current one, a grocery store. And Moose, I've been working there for 4 á 5 months now and I still enjoy it. It's a great job. The work ain't too hard, the pay is good enough and the people there are... well crazy seriously. But good crazy, like me.

Sweet, I make 8 an hour too :)

Then on sundays I make 12

Then on holidays I make 16

You'll soon learn to dread going to work (unless its pay day). In the past week, I've tried really hard, but I never even got the chance to watch a movie I rented two weeks ago (its burned so I still got time).

I hate that. I had one week where I was called in every day (I have no real defined days off) and it was the same week I bought 3 dvds. It took me 3 weeks to watch them all. I always ended up passing out during each of them.

That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. When you have a job you start to get into the mindset of "I can't do anything on those days because I have to work and I'm going to be tired, hell might as well rest on the day before work too, just to get into the rythm..." etc.

Well, I only work 3 days of the week, and no weekends. They'll probally fire me and get a new person once vaction time starts (mid august or something). So, it's not like this is one of those "I'm stuck here" kinda jobs.

So, they fired me and gave my job to someone that's older and better suited/more experienced for the job. No biggie though, I was getting really bored with it, and I'm leaving on the 6th or so of August. I mean... you can only surf the web for so many days without getting bored outta your mind... and because I couldn't look at porn.... meh.

I feel so sorry for you,Meiscool. Also, minimum wage in CA,USA is $6.75 an hour, w00t! Way better then $5.15, where Charaman is. By the way, who would make wages in intervals of 15? Sounds weird, because I'd think they'd do 5,10,25, or 50. To MrMister, $22 an hour?! Holy chocolate-chip muffins, that's a lot. But, I guess it doesn't add up well since you only work 3/7 week. :p

About that flea market...who'd want to buy fleas? BA DUM DUM PSSH!
If your actually opening up a flea market, what are you selling? Boiled chicken heads covered in Mountain Dew and cheddar cheese? That sounds good, but you should sell gold statues of muffins with giant swords slicing peoples heads off and devouring their flesh. Mwehehehe.

Yer its crap that you lost your job. I love having a job, I mean it sucks having to work, but there is a freedom that money gives that you wouldn't otherwise get in society. Plus all the stuff you can buy, and the stuff you can save for. Next week I get my $600 pair of Nike Flexitron glasses (nromal glasses). Sweet.  :smoke:

Worst reason I've ever been fired was 'not learning fast enough'. It was cause the faggot teaching me how to pop popcorn was a dink and told on me for talking to the customers too much or something
