Title: the legend of rirue
Post by: omegarirue on July 18, 2006, 05:20:16 PM: yo ive bben working on a game for a long time called the legend of rirue.rirue was a carecther i made when i was liitle.anyway its not done but im gonnna post my title.ill post scrrens when i get them 2.does anybody kknow how to take scrrens though

Post by: Prpl_Mage on July 18, 2006, 05:41:50 PM: First of all, you can take screen shots with the [Prt Sc SysRq] button between F12 and [Scroll Lock]. Then open up a paint and paste the picture that is created.
There are other ways of doing this, but I don´t know exactly how.

Second, no one cares for a guy who says he got a game unless he post some info about it or at least something. All we know right now is that this is a game about a guy called Rirue.

Third... Actually, I don´t think I have something to put here...Never mind.

Post by: omegarirue on July 18, 2006, 07:44:55 PM: well my game isa bout this.10 years ago a man named novia grew popular and onn became trusted and was elcted king of the country tiron(sorta like hitler)well there were many races acroos tiron.but novia did not like thses races and he sent his armies to kill them.soon the other races(himans elves gnomes etc)feared that they would be targeted next.so the elves hid in the forset and the gnomes went underground.the humans stayed and rebeeled agianst the empiror.he was booted from the trone and kiked out of the land.but he bulit a new kingdom along the north shores.he then attceked the main kingdom of tiron over and over untill it colasped.he bacome the power of the land once agian.but he was angry with the peole and set out to kill them all.with nothin to do the peole in the land prayed and prayed.when hopewas gone a man cam out of nowhere wilding 2 swords.he slayed the dark armies of novia and injured novia so he coundent do athing.he then left novias fate to the gods.after that he left his swords in the land and whent away.the gods imprsoned novia in onther realm.but with his last ounce of stragthe he slashed the air and ripped the land into 2 realms.but in the prosses he died.soon the cretures of this other realm made portals to travel to the raelm above.they cretures were diffrent from humans and such mostly monsters.the humans destroyed all the portals so no monsters could get to there realm.but...
novia had a son.his mother was killed for being married to novia.the son was young and was put on his owne.he was 6.he was adopted by a poor family and he lived like that for his life.he was laughed at in scool had no frinds.his life sucked.at the age of 14 his foster parnts were killed by some thives.he soon grew fead up with this realm.he found a remaing portal to the realm below and went in it.being hear to the dark thron he soone
became popular in the land and begin his jouney for the throne.2 years later he did it.he was the king of the realm named the nightmare realm.his first job was to get revange for his father.he would kill the laungiue(the race of which the golden warrior was)
and punshish the gods.then rid the world of all humans.in the light world above.a small boy who is a laungiue but dosent know it is asked to go to the store and get some spices for his mother.when he returns finds his house destroyed and his older brother fighting a man with white hair and 2 glowing staves
.the man looks at rirue and r story begins.

thats prety much the intro.hard to fallow i know but it is cool.

For example, how did Novia become king of the land? Was he elected like a president? And when he was banished, how did he start his kingdom and build an army strong enough to defeat the other kingdom? Especially within his own life span? Did he make a deal witth the devil or something? Plus, where did the gods come from? They came out of seemingly no where. What are these different realms you speak of but don't explain? There's plenty more I could ask.

Like I said, LOTS of loose ends you need to fix.

10 years ago in a country called tiron a man by the name of novia
had begin ginig the trust of hid fellow villagers.he soon became popular and liked and was elected for the king of julia the captiol city in tiron.after 2 months novia had won.he was a very peacfull man who had no hatred for any1 .one day he recived a telegram that his wife had been kidnapped by sumies.sumies were a short race that loked like gnomes only faster and less fat.well the king ordered that these sumies be killed.the were caught2 days later and eaxuted.this were the firstt death he had ever witnnesed and some how he wanted more.he ordered that all sumies be kiiled and that which they were.the many races of the land grew scred and rebelled agisnt novia.the peole booted him off the throne and made him leave julia.he soon moved to the east shores with nothing.but he found a crstil.tis crystal had a strange aura around it as he lifted he could fell power surging within him.he embodied the crstal into his arm.he then had powers beyond the avrge human.he bulit his own castle and when peole heard of his powers they joined his armie.it was a armie of bandits thives and no ggders.but with his power alone he could conqer julia once agian.and at tha he did no armie could stand up to his powers.he slaughtered many pepole and and recocered his old kingdom once agian.elves hid in the woods gnomes went under ground but the humans could do nothing.they prayed and prayed.untill 1 day.among the dark clouds a light filtered out and from the forest came a boy weilding 2 swords.he went to the kingdom and cast down novia once and for all.the man was nemed the golden warrior.he became a legend for his deeds.he leaft the fate of novia to the gods.the gods sent hte 9 sages of earth to imprison novia in another realm.but before they could he slahed the air with all his power and split the world into 2 realms.but doing that he died.the other realm was know as the night mare realm.it was filled with cretures unknown to humans.
the six sages went back to there respecive hidouts thinking the evil was gone for good.but the cretures of the realm under built portals to the world above.they begin to attck the humans of the above realm.so the humans went to the realm below and killed the crators of the portals.they wnet back above and destroyed every portal they could find.but as this was going on...
novia nad a son nemed kalin.kalin was alone.his mother was kiiled for bieng married to novia.kalin was 6 when his mother was killed.wbut he was adopted by a pooor famliy.at scool he was made fun of.he had no frinds.at the age of 16(10 years later)his foster parents were killed by bandits.he became fed up and serched for a mining in life when he found it.he soon discovrered he had poweres like his father.he took 2 staves and set for the only place he cold avenge his father.the nightmare realm.after 2 years of serching he found a portal the humans did not destroy.
he went to the realm below and lived in a small village there.
he soon becomed loved by the peole of that realm.and with his poweres they knew he was the only 1 who could lead them to domation of both realms.he was elected king of dark tiron.but before conquest he had a duty to fufill.he would avenge his father.by kiiling the sages.and the race of which the golden warrior was(languia)in the realm above a boy named rirue was sent to the store to get spices.when he gets back home his house is in flames.his brother is fighting a strange man.the man lloks at him and r story begins.

Not only will it help you keep track of where your story is going and suppose to go as opposed to remembering it all in your head, it will also always be there fro when you need to explain it to someone or during a thread about your game. Plus, spellcheck will become your best friend. :D

You could even upload a picture of you whole map for the beginning.

Ohh, it is also reputation not raputation. Just get some screens up and fix the holes in you story and I will tell you what I think of it.

Post by: drenrin2120 on July 19, 2006, 02:26:02 PM: I'm guessing this is your first project with rm2k/3. Here's a tip when mapping. Try and layer your grass effects. If the chipset you are using has more than one color grass tile, than use the lighter one as a base and spread the dark one around semi-randomly on top. Such as here:

Notice the multilayer of tiles? Plus, if you have any kind of shrubbery besides trees or matching objects in a charaset, take advantage of them. Also, broken pieces of the path I find can add a more realistic look, too.

Pressing the spacebar to seperate the period from the next sentance, using the shift key to capatolize letters, using the tab key to seperate paragraphs. No one is going to get mad at you for misspelling some words, thats an honest mistake, but when you don't do the simple things to make your typing easier to understand, thats when people get upset.

Your game is looking pretty good for a first game. Just make sure you are very thourough on the story. A lot of times in games I see complex stories that could be good, but the designer never brings it out. You know the story in and out since you designed it, but we don't, so you really have to work at brining it out.

You're screens aren't really bad, they're a lot better than the crap ones from my first game, so good job there, you'll get better as you work with it more. Take drenin's advice on the maps, also, you may want to look at meiscool's "do and don'ts of map making" in the tutorials section of this forum, it may help.
