School bands are programs put together by the schools, they play classical music on saxyphones and claraminets. Not actual bands. Also, you don't speak English, so no one wants to hear you sing.

I was never in a school band, cause it's for nerds. I wasn't a jock, but I beat up nerds.

^ Dude, wats with all the commas?
And, don't worry, if you don't speak english, sing in your native language, there's plenty of bands that sing in other languages (only one I know is Rammstein though)

And I played bass in both my schools classical and jazz band. It was pretty easy, I never practiced (never do anyways :P) and I just would be handed the sheet music and would play.

This reminds me, I need to rent Drumline again. That movie was sick. Nick Cannon made one of his few good career moves in making it.

Sigur Ros does good icelandic stuff, but half the time they don't use real words.

I played piano in the concert band freshman year, Vibes in Percussion Ensemble.

This past year I played bass in percussion ensemble, but gave up concert band.

Next year I'm accompanying the chorus on piano.

I play jazz Clarinet, and am going to start electric guitar in jazz band. I also play(ed) in every band in my school (except the Senior Jazz, which is the best band in the school)

German: Rammstein, Oomph! (They also do songs in english though), Normahl, Aeternitas (they also did an album in latin)

French: Moi Dix Mois (though, they're japanese :P), Chapeaumelon

Japanese: Asian Kung-Fu Generation, The Pillows, Dir en Grey

Dutch: Jovink (They use a weird form of a Dutch which even I sometimes don't understand), IOS, Band Zonder Banaan, De Heideroosjes (they also do songs in english), Heidevolk, Kopstoot

Spanish: Agresión (they mainly use english but some songs are spanish) (Note: It's a 50% band from Holland and 50% from Venezuela)

My 2 cents.

Baritone over here.  I wouldve prefered cowbell though.

I was in band for my three years of middle school.  I half assed so bad.  I only took it because it was pretty much a freebie A.  Me n' some friends always pissed the teacher off though by playing blackjack instead of playing and stuff.  He could'nt kick me out though, because I was the only who played the baritone (or at least well anyways.), and he needed some good bass people.  When I went to high school, I dropped out.
