I'm wondering if there are any good tutorials for inside maps out there. I'm also wondering whether it's possible to be creative with the RTP or would I be better off making a custom chipset, because the inside tiles seem very limited.
Any help is appreiciated, thanks in advance.

There's the Do's and Don'ts of Map Making (http://charas-project.net/forum/showthread.php?threadid=14984&forumid=29&catid=6), but you're right, I don't believe there's much for insides in that. Perhaps someone *looks at Robbie and MIC* should get on that.

Yeah, I was looking at the do's and dont's. Most of the stuff for outside maps I know, considering I make maps for an online game (Graal Online).
But, RPG Maker's inside tiles seem very limited and I'm having a hard time trying to get any tiles to fit the mood and style of house I'm looking at.
Edit: I know this isn't the place, but is there an alternate way to move between forums besides going back to the index?
The index isn't loading for me for some reason. Everything else loads fine, but when going to the index the loading just freezes.

Well... I did put in how to do lighting effects for insides... I honestly don't know any way to make inners look flashier then light effects.

Unfortunately, the index page has a bug in which it won't load for users of Internet Explorer. You'll have to get an alternate browser to view it, but in the mean time, you can use this link (http://charas-project.net/forum/browse_category.php?catid=X), and replace the X with a number.

As for your question, it may be that you don't have the right chipsets. Some other resource sites can be found in the aptly-named Resource Sites (http://charas-project.net/forum/showthread.php?threadid=14186&forumid=15&catid=4) thread, but there's a lot there, so make sure you have some time before checking it. In the mean time, I'll let Robotam know about this, and maybe he can work something out.

Would Firefox work? I have that for emergencies just like this and for when IE is being an ***.
Edit: Apparently it will work. I'm gonna try making a chipset for insides.

Yep, Firefox works. Hence why we have the :firefox: smiley here. But from what I know, Netscape, Opera and Crazy Browser all work as well.

Meh, for inside maps, just use common sence. Make sure that you have walls and the black space around the whole room. You don't want to leave the floor going off the edge of the map (unless you have it set up to teleport to another map from the edge). Don't make the maps too spacy. Look at your room and house, I doub't you can take 15 steps in between your walls, so don't make the rooms 15 tiles long. Don't leave the maps empty, because most people have a lot of furniture, and if its empty it looks boring. Not everything has to be perfectly square like. When I look at my room, my wall is indented in a bit in one area.
If you're making a house, a good thing to do is base it off of your own house or houses that you've been to. It'll probably be more realistic that way.
