Does anyone know where I can get some walk once sound effects?
You know, you walk on grass, you hear it. You walk on stone, you hear stone? If not a download or a link, do you know a game I can buy with some really good ones (PC only and nothing expensive)?

they have some sound effects you can download at rm toolkitzone
try this link : null (http://null) toolkitzone sound effects (http://www.toolkitzone.com/index.php?id=18)

This is pretty much a bump, but I do need some walking sound effects. I managed to find some sounds for walking on wood, leaves, grass, and in water (They're stolen :P). I could still use some for walking on dirt, and in mud, and maybe on stone floors.
I've already downloaded a bunch of Morrowind sound effects so it's a start.

Those kinds of dynamic sound effects would be rather interesting to see in an RPG... I wonder how you would code for that......
Hm....

Actually, I created a complete movement system that uses Autostart Events instead of just normally moving. You'll see it in the game :p and I'll even write a tut for it. I even fixed the running sounds so it doesn't sound like gunshots. I don't use the "Set Sound Effect to Terrain" feature.
Oh, and thanks karlc for at least giving something. It's appreciated.

Check this site out

I just wanted to say I found the perfect site. Thanks anyway. Oh, and I like that site neb87.
-
hey whats the perfect site you found
-
The site is made of MP3 sound effects and I'm stealing them to convert them to wavs. Unless a mod or so says otherwise, I shouldn't give it away cause it's a "stealing MP3s" site.

The event should be call or parallel process.. That way you don't stop every time you take a step.
-
It's already perfectly working with no bugs. You don't need a Parallel Process event.

I'm not very good at the whole programming the game ...thingy but I did figure out how to make different stepping sounds for different terrains and I figured it out on my own so you know this is easy as hell to do.
-All I did was go to the database then I clicked on the terrain tab and I created new terrains you know like grass, dirt, stone, wood, water, mud, metal, and so on... Then where it says Alert when touch terrain I assigned different sound effects for each of my new terrains. Then I proceeded to click on to the chipset tab and went through my chipsets. First I would click the terrain type button(that’s the one in the section labeled edit mode) then I used the column to the far right of the window also labeled terrain type and choose one of my terrains grass, dirt, water, ect...Then I just clicked on the different squares in my chipsets and assigned them to the different terrains. For example my wood bridge squares would be assigned to the wood terrain.
The carpet squares would be assigned carpet terrain and so on.
The way you can check to make sure your doing this correctly is by making sure that the number over the squares in your chipset should match up to the numbers to the left of their terrains in the box labeled terrain type.
-Aw man here I am explaining something everybody probably already knows I feel like a total :=)douche bag:=) ....please don't make fun...tee hee
