I want to soon, but my family keeps putting it off. :(
I have to enroll in a class before I can go to the DMV for the other stuff, but the only nearby driving class is run by Asians, and my mom doesn't want me to go there, so we have to find another. @_@
She's not racist, she's just afraid that their accents might be thick and I won't be able to understand them.

Don't have one, don't want one, don't need one, incidently I don't have the money either.

Also, the fear of totally screwing up keeps me off of the road.

I have to wait untill August 9th before I can legally use mine, but, that's not far away :)

I failed my first driving test with a 66 (I had to get a 70 to pass). I lost two points every time I didn't look both ways before I crossed an intersection... even if the light was green for me and red for them  I also drove with one hand:eyes:

However, my second test I drove like a complete pussy, and I did anything I knew the instructor wanted me to, and I got a 96.

I still drive with one hand, which I'll say isn't be best thing to do, but I don't really need both hands on most roads. In busy areas or tight/fast roads I ALWAYS use two hands, as you all shoud too ;)

Happened to me last year....

And then I waited over half a year additionally...

But now I have mine.

I've had mine for almost 2 years now. It's really not that big of a deal once you drive enough.

I'm starting in a few years, but I know how to drive.

Razor, how come every time you say something, you prove yourself to be the exact same type of thinker as I am? Screw it, I'm never replying in one of these types of threads again, Razor's got me covered!

EDIT: That means "I concur".
Title: Soon to get.
Post by: aboutasoandthis on August 05, 2006, 12:09:12 AM
I already took the class. I think I got a B? Anyway, I'm good as far as not getting into accidents go (Which is a miracle here), but whenever I have to make a sharp turn off a 40+mph road I screw up.

I think I got a B- on the driving test to pass the class, but it wasn't my fault.

I could get a license, but my family is just a few big bucks away from bankruptcy....  Besides, I have nowhere to go, seems how all I do anymore is this, video games, and playing my guitar....

Probably when I'm older, or get in a band or something, I'll get one, but for now, the farthest I travel is down to the railroad and back on foot.  Sadly, all the bikes in my garage have flat tires, and we don't have a working air pump to fill them back up.

Today marks my second year with a drivers licence. I passed on my first try :D

I don't think I ever used two hands while driving, once you get used to it, one hand is far more comfertable and relaxing than two hands.

To everyone who says they don't want a drivers license: Yeah right. Unless you enjoy having your parents take you to work, your friends houses, and everywhere else, deep down you want one. Its not like you have to drive if you have one, but if you ever need to go anywhere, you can. I guess if you really believe you don't want one, that'll change when you actually get one. I used to say the same thing when my brother had a lisence and I didn't...

The only thing that sucks about driving is paying for gas. I was thinking of getting a motercycle with good gas milage to help with that, but then I realized that they wouldn't be fun to drive in the winter...

I have had mine for sometime now. I drive with one hand all the time as it is more comfortable for me. It is also due to the way I sit in the car, my driving instructor always corrected me for it but the way I sat made me feel comfortable for long rides.
I get off my total restrictions November 17. That means I can have 5 people in my car total(inculdes me) instead of 3.
As well as my curfew is lifted.

Yes. There's no problem with that. I had to do the same thing.

Would you rather they requested only 5 hours of driving experience and none of those at night? That would sure leave a hell of a lot of dumbass drivers on the road.

18+ here. But I'm gonna skip scooters and safe up for a car / motor.
Personally, I think I can drive. I've watched how my mother's friends did it and my grandpa/grandma over all these years. Doesn't seem too hard.

If helps to watch, but when you actually start, it's nothing like what it looks like... I used to go one road trips that lasted ten hours... I have a hard enough time driving for a half hour without losing intrest and wanting to pull over.. It's most cirtainly something that you get better at as you do it...

So, to any of those who haven't taken drivers ed yet, have your parents take you out driving before you start the class, so you aren't as parranoid about the driving part, because it is pretty scary the first time you drive... Well, at least it was for me.

Hehe....  two of our cars are out of commission, and one of our motorbikes are, so.....   My dad is driving my mom's Park Avenue to work.  My brother's is completely useless, because it needs a new engine, so we're just gonna replace the car altogether.  So even if I had a driver's license, it would be pretty useless right now. :mrT:
