Title: Help with DVD recording.
Post by: Almeidaboo on August 23, 2006, 03:20:35 PM
So, here I am, again, asking for help with DVD stuff. But things wonŽt be that awful this time.

Anyway, I got all of Beck's episodes (finally...Drace, IŽll PM you with the link) in AVI, awesome quality and subtitles. And now I wanna record them in DVD, to watch in my TV.

Firstly I asked my g/f to do it for me, and she did, but some things went wrong, like:

The program she used to convert .avi to .bup (is that really the real DVD format?) was a shareware, so in the episodes there is this goddamn watermark, in the middle of the screen!! Anyone knows a freeware converter or a good converter that I can..."get"?

Second, the first episode wasnŽt inside the DVD! It started right on episode 2! Not that she didnŽt include it, probably it was a program bug or something...Can anyone point me a good DVD "maker", specially one that automatically makes a menu? It can be either a freeware or one that I can..."provide" myself with for free.

Other than that, IŽd appreciate tips in general!

Thanks in advance!!!

I use Cyberlink PowerDVD. it reads and makes DVDs. As for a converter, I've been searching for a while, but no luck.

TMPEG DVD wizard is what I use.

I'm not sure if it needs a registration code, though. I forget.

I just use roxio to burn DVDs; I used to use nero.

Do you need to convert because you software won't accept certain file formats? Or is it for space concerns?

I never convert. AVI always works for me.

I use nero, I'm not sure if its called nero ultimate or nero complete or something like that, but it'll automatically convert the avi files when it burns it to the dvd, works great.

Err, well you have to buy it, or you can download it on some p2p network or through a torrent.

The other way is to Shoplift ;)
Before you enter store
1-Have some money on you incase for some reason you get checked
2-Buying something or asking where to find something that you know that they don't have so it looks like you have a purpose there
3-Anybodie can be a store detective, so trust no one
Entering the store
Step 1:Go into store that has the dvd that you want
Step 2:Make sure you don't look guilty or nervies, som employee's mate think this is a sign of a shoplifter
Step 3:Try 2 come back turned to cameras and check for where there at and who is watching them, most likey nobody will be viewing the cameras
Step 4: Find blind spots to collect items without being seen, good way to do this is to have someone collect items for you and make a exchange
before exiting
1-make sure nobody is following u
2-NEVER GET TOO CONFIDENT
Bored as hell, maybe this will help some young thiefs :p

It concerns me more than anything that you would appear to exercise this practise seemingly regularly enough to have the knowledge of your method easily exchangable.

This is one of the many reasons why I'm for the re-instatement of prohibition.

Wouldn't work. They had speakeasies in 1920. We'd have speakeasies with high death tolls nowadays.
