Title: I want Art and Music classes.
Post by: aboutasoandthis on September 02, 2006, 12:43:38 AM
My school doesn't provide them. I've been at it since the 21st.

Physics
History
Boys Physical Education (First Semester)
Strength and Conditioning (Second Semester/Weightlift and Run)
Spanish 7-8(I'm the only kid in the school taking Senior Spanish)

Cut and Paste some fancy names, this looks exactly like Grade School. Here's to hoping I can learn to read music and take art classes.

I'm in week 6 of my third term. I've only got about 10-9 weeks of school left, excluding two holiday weeks.

You see, here in Australia, we have this crazy system where the school year begins at the beginning of the year, and ends near the end of the year. I mean seriously, WHAT THE?

In Japan, school begins 1/4th in the year.

Also, it's because your summer is at our winter. Summer vacation is always good time for a break from school. Also, it's too hot then. *sweatdrops*

Well since it's the popular thing to do to share your classes:

1st Hour: English 4 Honors
2nd Hour: Office Runner (Office aide thing)
3rd Hour: AP Calculus
4th Hour: American Government Honors
5th Hour: Business System Tech (See below)
6th Hour: Physics Honors
7th Hour: Senior Privledge (Get to go home early, no class 7th hour.)

My school goes 7 and a half hours a day, 7 hour-long(roughly) periods and lunch + time in between, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. With Senior Privledge I leave at 2:00 instead of 3:00.

Business System Tech is an entry-level computing class that focuses on stupid crap like MS Office and typing skills. The only reason I'm in it was because I was supposed to be a tech aide for the head of the computer department, Mr.Shannon. Sadly, during the summer he stepped down because they weren't paying him enough for the work he was doing, and the new lady running it doesn't think she needs any aides.

Originally I was marked down for 5th period as BST but in actuality I'dve been helping Shannon out, but now I just go to his class and do whatever I want, helping him with little stuff if he needs it. I'd have switched to a programming class if I could, but I've taken every programming class my school offers, so there's nothing left for me. o_o

I've been in school for about 3 weeks now.

-AFJROTC Health/Student Respnosibilities
-Marching Band
-English I Honors
-Civics
-Physical Science Honors
-Algebra I (Honors. Reg is 2 parts)
-Band (either wind ensemble or jazz)
-AFJROTC I

We have a 4 classes per term thing.
I switch to ROTC health at the end of the first 9 weeks
We also get an empty slot every year for another elective or just a regular class I need for TOPS >_>
I'm also going to the college on Thursdays for a free course. I could technically graduate college and high school at the same time o_o

Post by: Razor on September 03, 2006, 03:22:20 AM
Well the way it works is that we have 4 terms. The first one starts around the very end of January and goes for 11 weeks. The holidays start around Easter. 2 weeks of holidays, 10 weeks of school, 2 weeks of holidays, 10 weeks of school, 2 more weeks of holidays, and then around a 4 week term for the year 12/13s and then exams, and then holidays! By then, it's mid-November.

I hope I get into TAFE this year. :|

Yup. 6 6-week parts, two 18-week semesters. Plus taxes, that adds up to about 38 weeks of school... give or take a few days.

FUN FACT!: DarkFlood and I have the exact same Economics class (anyone notice this before-hand?).

We start on the 6th, since someone finally got the bright idea to start school after Labour Day in MI.  Unfortunately, that either means that we'll also get out later, or we'll have longer days.  And if we have longer days.........  I'll go insane and kill everyone in the building.  >D

Don't really remember my schedule, but I know that I'm in Spanish 4 and Psychology, along with all the required classes.  That's about it, I guess.   And as all the cool people are doing it.....  I'll be a junior this year, thus making me superior to 70% of all students.  So yeh.

Actually I'm still on mallet percussion lol. She's apparently writing a part for me and Sean Falcone. The only reason I'm in jazz is because instrumental didn't work with my schedule and she still wanted me to play. Joe is playing piano again this year btw.

Anyway, on the main topic, some of you start school really early and don't seem to get out until about the same time. Just wondering, how many days of school do you have? I'm pretty sure I always have around 170ish.

I started in Aug 4th...I´m having:

Civil Law
Criminal Law
Civil process
Criminal process
International business
"Tax" Law
Lawyer's practice classes
Interdisciplinary Graduation Monography
Comercial Law

I made up all those names by translating with the exact terms, but I dunno if those are correct.

Title:
Post by: Linkizcool on September 06, 2006, 02:27:44 AM
That's a lot of law, Almeidaboo.

I started today. My classes are sweet. I got my favourite teacher in science. I wish he taught physics, though. Then I could continue showing him formulas I made and seeing if they were worth the time.

We have a new band teacher, the school won't be the same without the old one. I had a class every day with that Italian dude picking his nose and flicking it at people. He was the best socials/band teacher evah.

Math I actually have with my good Finnish friend, last year we had no classes except band together.
