Title: New to RPG Maker
Post by: Shaher on September 05, 2006, 01:56:01 AM
Well, after a few hours, I finally got down the most basic of the basic, which is saving resources to my game folder. I figured out how to place them in battle as well, which to me is a step forward. But I have another question. I downloaded a few images that had gray backgrounds, and when I place them into a battle encounter, the background is still there. Any ideas how to brush them up? I considered Paint, but then there'd just be a white background instead. Mucho gracias from a learning beginner.  :)

are you importing the resources? or actually saving them into your game folder?

you can select a background/transparent color when you import a resource.

Thanks again, heh. Just gimme a few weeks, I'll probably be asking a lotta dumb questions until then.

Gah...another stupid question. How do I import a resource? Can you import only from certain sites, because I recall doing it earlier today and I saw the "Transparent" box, but didn't think anything of it at the time.

For the background and stuff all you have to do is the following.

Open RM2k3 (Not sure if it is the same for RMXP)
Go to Tools
Click REsource Management
Upload the image into the program.
Click the background as the Transparent color, it should be blinking.
Click OK.

BAM! You don't have a gray background.

Use the Import button, which is between the Database and BGM buttons.
