...I recall that someone mentioned that the first anime was hentai...uh, well Astro Boy was made in 1960 (proof in Wikipedia), and the first hentai was Lolita Anime 1: Yuki no Beni Kesho & Shojo Bara Kei, made in 1984.

I think someone somewhere once said "Hentai was the first anime thing made lol" to which he decided "aww shucks, now that ain't right! I've got to inform everybodeh!" and to do that he made a new thread informing us that the first anime was not hentai, but Astroboy, and that the first hentai came 24 years after.

Let's see, this is directed at me I assume? Well, I'm not gonna try and start the argument again, that just eats up time I don't want to lose to a gay *** argument like this. 1. I actually didn't point this at anyone--I was just clearing something up. Some idiot at Gaia posted a hentai topic, stating everything I said, and some idiot friend of mine put me there when I left my comp. He was reading aloud.

Actually, that was a point brought up in said topic in Gaia--only 44% of people who watch hentai are single--the rest are couples, and there are just as many women interested in Hentai as there are men (what with yaoi and all...).

I think that manga style, regardless of the main subject, is something erotic. It is meant to  arouse people's hormones, since the girls look super beautiful, and the guys are drawn to be good looking too. Not just that, but the relation between characters is also something made to provoke a rection to the sexual side of people (like, the boy and the girl never get together, and you stay really glued to the story because, among other things, you want to see them together, just like a soap opera).

Hm, not really. Hentai is nice, indeed. But it´s like, taking what´s exciting about manga and making it...explicit. So it loses something of it´s erotic nature, becoming something more plain, shallow. Just like porn: sex is beautiful, but porno movies make it raw and meaningless.
