I've yet to play Halo, so I can't justify voting that..

But I can state that FF7 is extremely overated, although it is a wonderful game in my oppinion, Squaresoft has taken that to it's head and won't stop pouring out sequals and prequals.

Although it deserves quite a bit of hype, it is over exagerated in probably the most annoying areas.

Cloud- You could have had a much better main character.
Sephiroth- Was being used the whole game by Jenova. Making him not that cool.

Draggy's most-overrated...

Game: FF7. Come on guys, it sucks.

Movie: Scary Movie. All of them. The first one was funny for about twenty minutes. All the others suck.

Band: Trivium. Seriously, why can't people stop with the "new Metallica" stuff. They f*ckin' suck. Dragonforce, Mastodon, hell even fuggin' CoB are way better.

Legend of Dragoon. Many people love that game and I think it sucked bad.

Yeah, Square is gay for making sequels for 7 and 10, my least favorite ones, and not like, the good ones, like 9 and 8.

Overrated movie, all of the Star Wars. The original ones are pretty enjoyable, but come on, some really shittish acting going on, and it's got those lame scene transitions and is dotted with plotholes.. Not to mention George Lucas knows ****-all about writing dialogue.

On the Trivium note, I yelled something like 'Matt is a generic first name for a lead singer' or something at Sounds of the Underground and he yelled at me.

Dude, sounds of the  underground sucked this year.  I went to the unholy alliance, With slayer, Lamb of God and Mastodon, Children of Sodom-er Beodom....way better than the emo S.O.U tour. The only Balls out rock I saw at that tour was Gwar.

Lamb of god sucked this  year, but Mastodon ripped my testes out through my ears and put orbs of superdense lead in their place.

And Slayer pretty much blew my face off with Lambardo back on drums.

But alas, I digress....


Seriously though.....

I HATE secret of manna. I loathe it. My friends were totally into that game, but I thought  it was 3 pounds o sheit in a two pound bag.

Trivium sucks. Plain and simple. Its neo-nu-metal, and I wish thefans would hurry up and turn legal drinking age so I can start fights with them at the watering holes.

I'm not EXACTLY an athiest or anything, but that movie sucked. I could find people being tortured on like you tube or something. Dont go to the theater to try and find religon.

And then people try and act like they're die hard christians after seeing it. Honestly shut the fuck up. If you were a die hard christian you would've have read the bible and not waited for the movie.

I agree with most of you, Halo and FF7 are great games, but definitely over hyped. I think The Da Vinci Code was WAY over rated, the movie totally killed it. Everything from the acting, to the changes in scripts and cutting out of really good scenes. The book was so mch better it's not even funny, shouldn't be surprised though. Hollywood knew it would cause a lot of controversy and therefore, sell a lot of tickets. So they weren't worried as much about actual quality... Greedy bastards... So glad I saw it for free.

I like Halo. I don't see how it's overrated. It's not very big (or at least not as big as the BIG big FPSs) as far as I can tell, other than that it's fun.

FF VII: A great game, but people need to stop talking about how good it is. There're a few games that are better, so stop praising it as the best thing ever.

Most underrated game: Alien Hominid. So f'ing great, yet nobody seems to care...

Naruto: Most overrated anime. It's nice, but not much more than that.

The Passion of the You Know the Rest: It's very interesting, but it feels more "(very religious) cult classicy" than "best movie every".

Just note that I didn't direct that post to you singlely. I more or less directed it to any person out their that complains about a series being ruined by a company other then it's original creators (AKA, the people that sat down and made the game), but still making money. I don't care if they say: "The gaming experience went downhill after final fantasy 32694354", but I hate how people go: "Sony is a slut because they suck lol. They put out another Final Fantasy game and they ruined the series and it's all their fault. I'm gonna go buy the game, cya."

Movie: Star Wars and Shark Tale.

Personally, I don't think there is such a thing as the best in this case. It's not like you can take two games and race them to see who's better. You can only compare opinions. The best is an opinion in this case.

The four above were awesome, but to me not the best.

FF7. As much as it is my favourite RPG (in that way, like how Diablo 2 is an RPG but very different) I know that it's over hyped.

But do I care? No. I played it before the hype, making me awesome.

Most overrated movie? I dunno, probably Titanic. Never saw it, never wanted to.


Most overrated anime? Naruto. It's the FF7 of anime, but instead of being cool, it sucks.

The newer Star Wars movies were overrated, definitely, simply because they were Star Wars.  Not as good as the original three...

Overrated games.....  that one Dawn of the Dead clone for 360, Chronicles of Riddick (good, but not that good), and a few others that escape me at the moment...

Just because they made money doesn't mean they didn't ruin a good thing. Maybe not from their profit standpoint, but from the overall quality and fulfillment one can recieve when purchasing or using their product. If a corporation has made a product which I felt used my time well I will continue to support the corp. But if I pay for their product and it is not as personally fulfilling to myself as their past products, I am fully within my rights as a supporter of their country before and currently to say that they did in fact ruin a product if that is my belief.

If they made a MegaMan 567956, and it sucked, and you think it ruined the series, would you then buy MegaMan 567957, because you did like the other 567955? If your answer is no, then it supports your point. If your answer is yes, it supports mine.

I wouldn't buy the one that I think ruined it, but if a company has 567955 great games and 1 crappy one, I think that the ratio of great to suck justifys another purchase of the 567957th. However, if the 567957th game sucks, and I think plunged it even deeper than 567956th did, of course I wouldn't shell out cash for the 567958th. If you ate 80 bags of skittles and loved them, but bought one and it was horrible, would you never buy Skittles again from that one bad bag, or would you buy another to see if that was just a fluke? If that second was horrible, then you may not buy them again. But in a year or two, you'd probably buy a new bag wondering if they're good again.

No, you're missing the catch. You already bought the one that you think ruined it, and you've already played and beaten it.

You can't honestly think one game ruins a series just by looking at it and not playing it. I mean, DMCry 3 looked the same as the others, but it was quite a bit worse as far as gameplay went.

Typo in there, would not wouldn't, and I think my analogy shows that. If we were dealing in a situation based on my support of a comp. and the borrow option was out I would have no choice but to buy and test. If I buy a game and I think it ruins the series, I'll buy the next one because of my faith in it's former success. However if that sucks as well, then any immediate further games I wouldn't purchase. Down the road maybe I will pick up a newer one after the ones I disliked to see if the company has again made a product I think is worthy of my time, but if it hasn't I will cease to supprt the company.

With a game like Capcom, the makers ARE Capcom. MegaMan is not a game developed by a third party developer other than themselves then produced and distributed by Capcom, it is made BY Capcom. The company approves of any action taken by the makers. So yes, I would blame Capcom. As with FF, some say FF

Even though I have more hours logged in FF7 than any other game I have.....It is overrated but not NEARLY as bad as Halo....comeon...Halo sucked so hard. I beat the damn thing and STILL couldnt find any way it was better than any of my other FPS games. Hell I had more fun playing Serious Sam 2 and that has no story value whatsoever, then again some people worship Master Chief....I think Gordon Freeman could kill him hehe...sic DOG on him...:P

As for movies....currently even though Snakes on a Plane was a decent movie it was WAAAAAAY overrated.

True, true. I suppose at this point it depends on which party has more voters: The "Overrated"s or the "Enjoyee"s. It would seem it isn't overrated if more fans exist than demoters, so it wouldn't be overrated, and if more people feel it's overrated than those who enjoy it, it can't truly be overrated. FF7, for me, is one of the best RPGs out there. Many think it is overrated. Who´s right? Who´s gonna tell us who´s right? Would this person be right anyway? Why?

They say that if one person tell you "X" and you tell her "Y" you may be right. They also say that is three people tell you "X" and you still says "Y", you´re the one who's wrong. DOes that seem right? Why can´t those three be wrong.

Arguing and discussing about things is in human nature: doing this we improve in many ways, we change minds and we make our living. But it is still pointless, since it could be all wrong.

See, you´ll read this and probably say I´m wrong. So, who´s wrong? Who´s gonna tell us who´s wrong or right? Would this person be right? Why?

Here's a fact, Zelda Sells, Final Fantasy Sells, Metal Gear Solid Sells, Halo Sells and Mario Sells.

Overated is an opinion, but by the way people are basing the saying "______ is overated." It is soley because it has a large fan base, which is caused, and contributes to large Sale numbers.

Computers sell alot, therefore they are overated.

Cars sell alot, therefore they are overated.

Charas has alot of members, therefore it is overated.

I'd hate to break the little love fest, but doesn't over rating come from people saying "THIS IS THE SINGLE BEST GAME IN THE WORLD, NO OTHER GAME IN THE EXISTENCE OF MANKIND CAN SURPASS IT" and having millions of other people agree, only for you to find out that it A) clearly ISN'T the best game in the world, and possibly B) it has quite a lot of flaws that make the game unenjoyable, or make the story terrible etc

In answer to all arguments vs my last post, a game is made so that people enjoy it. If someone loves a game and is a fanboy of it etc then they clearly loved it. Therefore the game has achieved it's objective. Therefore it's of high quality.

You just assumed and made an *** of yourself :p, I've played it, I've beaten the game. It was ok, not OMG THE COOLEST SHYTEZ I'VE EVER PLAYED. Which is why I think it's overrated, people think it had the greatests storyline ever. No, it was ok. Best characters? Um no.. Cloud was gay, like really gay. I liked Zack more, he was less emo and more  :happy: . Seph was meh, he was a good bad guy but there have been better... (Kefa.. he actually makes me laugh xD) and the storyline could've been improved. The fact that they're remaking it.. that's just sad. Now I'll never hear the end of Antisoul's FF7 PWNS U ALL!! LOLZORS.  :dry:

Okay look, you're allowed to like the game, that's cool. But the line shall not be crossed. FF7 was a pretty dark game to begin with, and Vincent was so damn emo that it makes even over-compensating Sephiroth look cheerful by comparison.
