Title: Replay Value
Post by: Meiscool-2 on September 27, 2006, 08:12:02 PM
What game/games have you replayed the most? It can be anying, from an online game to a cell phone game.

I've got this one cell phone game called block breakers. Out of pure boredum, I've beaten that at least 6 times.

Overall, I've played Dark Cloud 2 probally the most. 5 times in all. Each time screwing around with different weapons, and one time using only one character and screwing the other. It's an RPG with well over 30 hours of standard gameplay (meaning that doesn't include the side quests).

What's yours?

Mario 64. 120 stars I don't know how many times.
Starfox 64. This belonged to El Prez, but it didn't stop me playing it EVERY TIME I WENT TO HIS HOUSE. I LOVED GETTING MY HIGH SCORE OF 1524 TWICE. DO A BARREL ROLL!
Title: I'd say
Post by: aboutasoandthis on September 27, 2006, 08:24:18 PM
Shadow of the Colossus. It's only 16 bosses. Maybe FF6 too. I've never really replayed any games, not even the FFs.

Not even out of affection for the Game, I'd Have to say tetris. Not that ive ever 'beaten' it...I remember when i was a small child I saw a movie about this savant child who beat an unbeatable puzzle game....and then nasa came and took him away.

So my number 1 is Tetris. (nes)
Number two is Megaman3 (nes)
And number 4 is Mario 3 (nes) (I hate this game, but when i was a kid I could beat it faster than anyone else...and I believe out off all of my nerdy-peers, I still hold the record)

Legend of Dragoon and Legend of Legaia, I've played through them at least 3 times.

I've played Dragon Warrior VII twice, but it's such a damn long game that I've actually played it a lot more than those other two games.

I've played through Star Ocean 2 four or five times, getting different characters each time.

Probably a lot more, but those are the main ones I can think of.

I've beaten Super Mario World well over 20 times.

Probably star fox 64. In fact, I think I'm gonna go play it again right now...

My most played rpg game would probably have to be FF9. I must have played through it 5 times, but I never got to the ending yet. After I beat the final boss and zidane goes back to the tree, it freezes at a damn movie scene, so I don't know what happens at the ending...

Lets see, I played through the megaman x games A LOT. I played through EVO about 5 times. FF7 3 I think. FF8 2, Chrono Cross 2, BoF3 2, Joe and Mac about 10 times. I think thats about it.
Title: I pity you.
Post by: aboutasoandthis on September 27, 2006, 10:34:08 PM
The FF9 ending is one of the best, the best in my opinion.

I keep extra save files for the final bosses. Does that count? If not, no.

StarFox 64, definately. I think it's the pure awesomeness of listening to Slippy scream in agony as you blast him to smithereens.

Games :
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - This game is just awesome. Everything about it I love. I've played it many times, too many to count to be honest. Many people complain that Navi was quite annoying. Well, if you keep ypur tv's sound on, I'm sure she would be. But being drowned out by Nirvana's heavy rock music has completely made the game a better experience

Donkey Kong Country - this was my very first super Nintendo game, and I played it for months on end trying to beat it. I finally did, and wnt on to other, more advanced games. But at least once a year, me and my sister will sit down and go through the game. Mind you... I always beat it, she just ends up sitting there :/

Pokemon Red/Blue, Yellow, Gold/Silver, Crystal - Ok, so, these games are quite possibly some of the most childish games ever, but at the same time, a lot of thought went into makin them. Ever since the first time I played Red at my cousins's house I have played each at least hundreds of times. I have managed to capture every pokemon in Red multiple times as well.

You read a book... more than once! I didn't think that was possible...

Actually, I read 'Dinotopia: the lost city' 2 maybe 3 times. That was way back when I actually kinda enjoyed reading some books.

this is slightly off topic but.....

FF9....never played it. I own a copy, but picked it up at a rummage sale....and intended to get a PS to play it on.
Ive played the first 10 minutes of it but thats it....

So I download a PSX emulator.....and cant find the ROM.
This bothers me because I actually own the game...so the ROM, would be LEGAL for me to posess.....

I cant find that thing anywhere....

Im playing through chrono trigger for the 2nd time ever...But the first time was 3 weeks ago. its shaping to be one of my favorites

Post by: DragonBlaze on September 28, 2006, 12:45:45 AM
Theres two things you can do in order to play FF9. The first would be to simply put the ff9 disk into your cd drive, open the emulator, and then go to run cd. Most playstation emulators should have that option.

The other thing you could do would be to download clonecd, put the ff9 disk into the cd drive, open clonecd, and create an image of ff9. This image file will be your rom that you can open in your playstation emulator.

Have fun.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, definitely. I just love playing it. I've beaten it only six times, though.

For books, I read any book in a day. Eragon took me 7.5 hours, Eldest 10.25. I re-read them sometimes, too.

I'm replaying FF9 right now actually.

BTW Silas, I was right, they do have the SFX in the dialog, but only at rare occurences.

Can't remember much from the NES / SNES, but from Sega and up:

Some old Sega console:

- Some X-Men game
- The Sonic games
- Jurrasic Park
beat none, too lazy to write down passwords

Nintendo 64:

- Zelda Oceraine of Time, beat it 4 times
- Super Smash Bros, played it a lot
- Super Mario 64, 120 stars
- Goldeneye 64, beat it dozens of times
And some other games which I forgot. I should get my old N64 out of the closet and play again.

Playstation:

Modchipped my PS1 so I've played so many games on it (over 500), that I'm only gonna give 5 I really remember.

- FFVII, 3 times
- FFIX, 4 times
- MGS, 8 times
- Spyro, 2 times
- RE2, 3 times

Playstation 2:

Never modchipped my PS2, so the amount of games I played is less.

- MGS2, 6 times
- MGS3, 3 times (gonna replay soon again)
- Shadow of Rome
- Fahrenheit
- The Warriors
- FFX, 4 times
- God of War
- Tekken Tag Tournament, all characters.

PC:

Too many to mention. Like the PS1, I've played hundreds of games on the PC. Top 5 I remember:

Jagged Alliance 2, 3 times
Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Halo etc. games, at least twice.
WoW, played it over 30 days playtime.
Battlefield 1942, played that for over 15 days playtime.
C&C Renegade, at least 5 runthroughs and 20 days playtime online. Most likely much more.

Games I've played many times, but I didn't restart every times, just played a lot :

Metroid: Zero Mission - Like, 5 or 6 times
Half-Life 2 - I think I'm on my 6th or 7th run right now...
Halo - 15 (single player), 175 (and counting [multiplayer])
Halo 2 - 5 (single player), around +500ish (multiplayer)
Super Smash Bros. - Too many times
Super Smash Bros. Melee - Too many times x 50
Worms: Armageddon (N64) - At least 50 times
Counter-Strike: Source - Lots, yo.

Everything else is only worth a go or two, plus multiplayer, which I don't count unless it's a multiplayer style game (SSBM) or if it's already on the list.

Well, any rpg really, completed most of them or just stopped near the ending too make a new file cuz' I missed something or my characters sucked.

And for all those wonderfull games were you can take all the stuff you earned to a new game+ for a round two, example FFX2 & Resi4.

And my but the game Iīve played far too much must be Super smash bros. melee. Everytime we got a gap in the shedule we waltz over to my friends house (simply because itīs the closest to school) and then just battle away. But the thing is that he is a pain in the arz when it comes to Ssbm, itīs like impossible to beat that guy, he even once took me and two of my friends down when we had a team battle... And whenever we play a free for all, he wins, unless he has some bad luck.

That kid with the lame neon sig just Called Meis silverstein.
And this makes Me chuckle.

I got too adiicted to Pokemon on ma gameboy.....Just recently I moved, and before I did I gave that shiz to my little sister. Shes Nine and has never really played videogames......country girl.......sheltered.

But now I swear to god, That kid never sleeps. In the week I stayed at my folks  after I gave it to her, I think I saw her not staring squint eyed at the screen only long enough to eat and sleep for an hour before school.

The sad thing is I went to a Pawnshop when I moved here, and bought a gameboy sp for 30 bucks, with a game......
But at least its not Pokemon.....

*Curse you, sigma star*
