Title: School Spirit
Post by: aboutasoandthis on September 28, 2006, 07:55:25 PM
I've got no school spirit. Most everyone at my school has no school spirit. EVEN THE ****ING VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM HAS NO SCHOOL SPIRIT!

The administration has been doing a lot of stupid things to us students. First, there was the spending of almost 100,000 dollars on landscaping when classes, teachers, and scholorships were being dropped. Then came that damn dress code.

A lot of our boys sports teams have been losing lately. Our varsity football team has lost 4 out of 5 games already. They got beat by the Freshman team. A lot of them are considering quitting. When someone like me can honestly say that they can play better than the varsity team, something is wrong. It's like the only games worth going to are the Girls Softball games. State Champions.  _sweat_

Anyway, we have a pep-rally tomorrow that's supposed to be on television. It's at 6:30 in the morning. I don't even get up that early.

I guess I'm asking if you have any school spirit. I don't and that sucks. It makes high-school a lot less fun, especially since this is my new school and not my old school.

Do you go to games and stuff? Do you actually like your school? Do you even like school? Seriously, I feel like I'm in a bad Kanye West album.

I hate my school. I have no spirit. No one does. No one cares. Its run by nazis.

A message over the PA, and I quote, "Remember, the best way to express yourself is to follow the rules that we tell you".

This school sucks.

My school is alright, but I don't have school spirit. Lots of others do, though. But not me.

Every week, the principal tells some crappy story with a lesson involved. And that lesson is always something that you are sick of hearing. "Never give up!" "Try your best!" "Be a good friend!" Blah, blah, blah.

Sometimes there are spirit games during lunch, which are pretty stupid. I remember last year, the game was to get people in a certain class wearing clothes of their class's color (seniors wear white, juniors wear red, sophomores wear yellow, freshmen wear black) to come out and stand in a box, and the class with the highest turnout wins.

That day during lunch, I was in line to get a new school ID card (ALL the ID cards had the wrong year on it, so everybody had to get a new one eventually). But by some strange coincidence, I happened to be wearing red that day. So people who recognised me kept trying to pull me out of line (there were a ton of people behind me, no way in hell was I getting out of line) to participate in the event. ANNOYING.

I have school spirit. I go to most games. I jsut helped out at the Powder Puff game we had yesterday, junior girls suck at football. I am a junior and I am honestly saying that our girls know nothing about it. I attend most sports games that I can attend, and help out for the special ones. I played lacrosse these past two years, not sure about his year but I will still go to games.

We don't have any school sport teams, but hell yeah we have school spirit. My school pwns. We have the best teachers ever. Teachers you can actually WITH than just AT. Like this one time, I went to the toilet and my math teacher grabbed my MP3 and cap which were on my table and put them in his desk, just for me to find out 15 minutes after class. It was mean, but I could laugh at his bastardliness.

My school was pretty small (The year I joined was the year it offically started) so most of us had some spirit. But over the years of having teachers (ppl who didn't start with us) favor the jr's, we kinda lost it. *shrugs* I never really went to the games, I have issues with big crowds. The only one I went to was some teachers vs. students basketball game, that was this past school year. I didn't stay for the whole thing tho XD

My school has so much fucking spirit, it is amazing.  I don't know whether it being a the biggest Jesuit all boys school in the US helps, or the fact that since I've been here (I'm a junior), we've only lost 2 varsity football games, and have 1 state championship so far.  Hell, and we are all crazy, so yeah, spirit is in very high supply.

My school, we've only won 2 football games this season, and that was only because the one we beat at our homecoming was one that sucked so much *** that no one had ever even heard of 'em.

School spirit? Pah.  Everyone I know has no school spirit at all.  They actually got mad at me for dressing up on 'White T day' for homecoming.  In reality, I just wanted to wear my new pwnage jacket (it pwns).  The seniors try to show school spirit, but it's really quite pathetic.

I usually go to the football games, because I have an athletic pass and there's usually a school dance afterwards, and I have nothing else to do on a Friday night.  As you may have guessed, I'm a ladies' man....  Only, I'm not as smooth as I'd like to be, so it doesn't matter.

My school has no school spirit.. Well, except for the preppies, but nobody cares about them. It's gotten so bad that our own football team bets money against itself. And a lack of cheerleaders has caused us to allow the fat ones in.  _veryangry_

The only sortakinda plus side to my school is that we have video announcements, and an anime club. (which I am the VP of)

Of course, everyone hates the school.. Rednecks, idiots, and racists everywhere. You can't go a single step without bumping into someone that somehow, someway, managed to get INTO high school, even though said person shouldn't have.

I used to not have pride in my school for two reasons - out of principle, and becauses I didn't really enjoy school in general. Reason one was kinda dumb, and reason two was because I hadn't really adjusted to high school yet.

A lot of my friends are against pep rallies and school spirit, but I kinda enjoy it. No, I don't go to football games or really participate in anything school-specific, but I still think that, hell, I went to it all four years of highschool, most of the people I know are here, and our sports teams are pretty good. (Don't know the exact records, but I never really remember ever hearing that they were bad, and I know our vollyball team is the ****)

My school also has anime club, although since I usually don't enjoy a whole lot of anime I'm not a part of it. I am, however, restarting the computer club this year(Last year it was up and running was when I was a freshman, and I'm a senior), as a front to get a free harddrive for an old computer I have lying around. And for other various hardware needs. Plus it's something to do.

We have a pep rally tomorrow and although I'd usually go, my friends are trying not to and instead go play Quake. I'm not against the pep rally, but come on. It's Quake.

Creepy that you bring this up, as my school's trying the school spirit thing too. Just yesterday, we started filming a 20-minute documentary about how great our school is (which we'll eventually submit to CBC), and tomorrow, everyone is supposed to wear school colors (I doubt 10% of them will remember).

It's like that, though. All the S3 and S4 girls (and a few of the guys) have the spirit, but everyone else couldn't give a damn. I'm in the latter group - I don't plan on going back to the school when this year is done, so why should I be proud of it?

I have a little school spirit. Rather, I have school 'pride'. I hate my school, but I always root for our sports teams and its fun to make our school look better than all the other schools aroung. I'm starting on the varsity football team, so far we're doing pretty good (4-1, 3-0 in conferance), so that helps.

My school itself is just stupid. We had a bomb threat a week or two ago, a bunch of people got suspended from school for a week or so for wearing shirts that said "hortoville is the bomb". I got a saturday school for running in the halls, after school was out. The second day of school I got in trouble for playing cards, in our commons, during lunch. Usually we have a 'free day' for homecoming where we just play games all day or do whatever we want. This year, we have a half a day of school and then we just have a pep asembly. If we're late to class once, we get a detention, sometimes if we get to class on time but the teacher has something up their ***, they say we were late and give us a detention even though we were in the room well before the bell rang.

They try to prepare us for the 'real world', but taking away our freedom, not letting us have a say in anything, and treating us like crap does just the opposite...

Meh, it won't be long and I'll be done with it.

I lost my school-spirit, so long ago................

I don't even care what happens to my classmates, teachers, or the school itself.

Most school spirit comes in college, if you decide to go to college. It's mostly because it's the place where you get your degree and stuff. Plus, it's so much better than high school spirit. High school is pretty much stuck up bullshit.

In my school there aren't any activities...
I'm bored and tired of it, the only thing that keeps me going is knowing that if i study, this will be over!

My city is the birth place of Volleyball, which is kinda cool. The volleyballs games can be pretty fun to watch. The last one I went to was intense as hell. Lost my voice, but we lost 10-15 in the 5th game. (best out of 5 for the varsity). THat was disappointing, toher than that, our record is perfection. The JV Team is still undefeated too.

Our football team sucks *** though. Varsity play4ers tell me all the time that the Freshmen are better. The Varsity team hasn't one any games this year so far. Too late for hope. lol

So yeah, I guess I've got school spirit. It kind of annoys me when people from out of town come in and are all white and preppy and are like, "Holyoke is full of puerto ricans and blacks, we got this." It's always great to show them up at that point. :D

America is so different from Britain it's unreal 0_o Over here we're pretty much required to hate every minute of it.

So is my school the only school with a good football team here? Then again, we have ME on our team, so of course we're good :D

Anyway, no one likes our school. But, we like eachother. Its not really pride for our school, but more like pride for our town itself. Or something like that...

Shool Spirit? Nah. My school may be better than the others at here, but it is still only a school.

And a school where the students can camly tell the professor to, and I quote, "Shut the **** up." is not a school that deserves spirit.

My schools football team beat every other school in our area.

I actually love my school. The teachers are are cool, especially the woodworking/automotive teacher. He chooses one kid and picks on him/her for the whole year. My English teacher was amazing. Everyone thought he was the biggest nerd teacher until I brought my guitar in. He was friggin awesome! Everyone has his respect now.

I guess you didn't read my post.  My school could beat yours anyday.  Hell, our marching band could beat your football team without pads.  We are kickass.
