It was a legit messege from GamingW. Really weird. I clicked on one link and it made me sick. I dared a second link and it was the same thing. I dared no more.
Anyone else get any weird **** like this?
-
No...
And I don't want to know what those pics were...
>_<

Yeah, it appears a bunch of forums have been attacked by this serial porn spammer. Hopefully it stays away from charas.

There fake messages to copy websites urls and emails. They are not acutally from the company themselves. I got stuff like this from Amazon emails and what not, sites looking 100% like Amazon.com, even the email was staff@amazon.com, but the emails and websites were not actally those websites, there are websites that sell fake domain names that override your own. So someone with a yahoo subdomain website can get their email and website url changed to match any url they want and email to match.
This is to con people into what they intend, its been floating around on company sites for about a few years now. I got this information from amazon and another website called Gaia Online. They give out information on how to determine if it is really from the companies they forge. Based on content of emails. If an email says something the company would not ever email you about, then it is forged.
websites how ever are harder to tell. Some links can lead you to a site that looks like, lets say amazons main login page, but it is a trap to get your login info to buy off your credit cards and etc.
It's just like the email viruses out there, they steal your friend's email list and emails people with their email address, but yet they didnt email you. Then you get sent viruses.

Hm... ****... Why am I so dumb?
-
More like why are people so vile and worthless that they actually do this?
-
Yeah I got one of those on GamingW too. Twice. I just didn't bother clicking on it. I guess it's good I didn't.
-
I got one a while ago from Microsoft.
"This is an email from Microsoft! Click here to download our newest [STRIKE]virus[/STRIKE] update!"
What gave it away was the obviously fake email address... :=)
-
Which is why I don't pay attention to emails talking about updates. Most, as in 90%, of the programs use an autoupdate feature.
-
Yeah, I usually don't click on those types of things. But I just figured it was from GamingW so I let my guard down.
-
Could you send me the link in a pm? I wanna see what's so 'sick' that you didn't dare to watch all links.
-
^^Are you sure that's really a good idea?
-
Are you sure it's not for personal enjoyment? :p
-
LRPGM suffered another attempted hack, the attempt failed though, and we are all laughing now.
-
I've got this from gaming world 4 times... 4! It sucks, after the first I just deleted them.
-
I get these all the time about ebay and paypal.
The ebay one says I bought an item and I need to pay for it or I'll be banned and it leads to a fake ebay site.
The other one from "paypal" shows that I bought a 500 USD watch.
I really don't see the point in this one.. because there's no links...just emails on it.
-
When I get mails from unknown fellas with links and such, I just ignore them and thrash'em...
One day I'll get a "HELP I'M LOCKED IN A BASEMENT, HELP ME THE LOCATION IS..." like mail, and I won't read it :p
99% is spam mail, so it's worhless to read, if it's something important, I'll know it later xP

Hey, I got two pms of the exact same thing dude.
One was from Robert T and the other was from CindyGameMaster.
I braved all the links, and most of them were ghey p0rn.
As of yesterday, CindyGameMaster was banned for excessive reporting of pornographic links. However, Robert T hasn't been punished according to my sources, which are limiting because gamingw sucks.

lol
Thats funny.
