Is Lost Magic any good? I've been thinking about picking it up, but I haven't heard so great about it.
Title:
Post by: Apex on October 30, 2006, 01:48:28 PM
It's not that great, I starts out pretty decent, but it gets irritating, due to the time limit always rushing you.. Not very good. As for online, it is pretty fun, because you get alot of the spells off the bat.

I'll post all my friends codes soon enough, and it might take a while to get them all, concidering I not only have every wifi game for DS ever made, I have EVERY DS game ever made.

FFL, could you save me the pain of getting home, getting my MKDS and AC codes, and just post them here for me?

As for Lost Magic, Starfox Command, Metriod Hunters, Tetris, Contact, Mario VS Donkey Kong 2 and Clubhouse games, I'll post those when I get home.

Currently playing NONE wifi games: Phoenix Wright 2, Kirby and the Squeak Squad and SBK.

I never had a problem with the time limit other than a few certain battles... like the last optional dragon battle... >_<

The game was really fun though, I enjoyed it.

I don't know them... I'm pretty sure once you register someone's friend code and then confirm it by going online with them, you can't view the code anymore. And I don't have them written down anywhere.

Archem: Dunno, probably.

Lost Magic is okay, but the gameplay wears thin after not too long. You don't really gain anything from playing online, and matches can end in like 12 seconds. It isn't an RTS, like I was hoping it to be. The WiFi play is laggy, too.

Updated (Give me a sec, I'll do Metriod.)

Also, anyone who has me registered in Mario Kart or Animal Crossing from before, Most likely you won't have the right code, considering I got a new DSlite recently, so be sure to update.

Let's all play something tonight!

My vote goes too...

Hmmm...

Animal Crossing!

Someone open up teh gates!

Don't get AC. It sucks SOOO much. There's nothing to do. Get 2 copies of Tetris instead of AC.

Hell, I'm a newb at Metriod, I just happen to be better than FFL...

Which is funny, because I also pwn him in Mario Kart.

DAMMIT I need Metroid.
Title:
Post by: Prpl_Mage on November 02, 2006, 10:09:05 PM
Iīm thinking about getting a DS lite, I havnīt felt like there was alot of reasons to buy it earlier but I just happened to realize that there are all those sweet games to it...

Well to begin with, Mario Kart and Metroid Hunters seems to be great for multiplay.

Super Mario Ds and New Super Mario Bros seems like those games I can spent time playing just to spend some time.

And of course, Iīm waiting for the release of either FFIII,LoZ Hourglass or Children of Mana, they all seems really great and Children of Mana's multiplayer mode kinda remind me of FFCC.

But I just gotta ask, how does that WiFi connection thingy actually works? Is it like a broadband? And does the touchscreen get easily damaged?

I guess this is kinda of topic but once I get one I will add my friend codes as well.
Title:
Post by: DarkFlood2 on November 02, 2006, 10:31:38 PM
If you have a wireless connection somewhere near where you play, you're good to go.

And the touchscreen is quite sturdy (as with the whole DS) you just have to calibrate your screen every once in a while (I do it once a day)

But that DS lite is rock hard, I've dropped it 3 times (people kept tripping on the power cord) and it has yet to show damage.

Post by: Apex on November 02, 2006, 10:34:51 PM
Onyx ones smudge though, which is a minor inconvenience.

By the way, we all need to play tonight, Who's up for what?

Meet me on MSN to discuss, Apex.xp@gmail.com

Pff! More like "cheap as hell"! The next time you back me into a corner and whip me to death, I'm throwing your copy of Hunters at a passing car!
I would totally play this more often (Sylux FTW!), but with the feelings of carpal tunnel creeping in the shadows...

EDIT: I propose an idea: How about we post whenever we're playing a game, or prepared to play a game, so that other players can know who's available before turning the DS on? And you could just post or edit when you get tired. And if you say you're "ready", but not "on", then people could ask if you want to play. If people just check in every once in a while when they're "ready", then they'll know when to turn it on. A little complicated sounding, but if you get what I'm trying to say, you can tell me how you feel about this.

Also: Ready for Metroid Prime: Hunters (or Starfox Command) = Yes!

EDITē: Wifi requires broadband wireless, because if you set up a dial-up wireless, you'll just lag out and ruin the game for others with the lag. The touch screen is quite sturdy, but if you use a stylus with a damaged head, it may result in scratching, which lowers visibility on the touch screen and messes up it's accuracy and sensitivity. Also, if scratching and rare recalibration occur, recalibration can take a while, so try doing it whenever you use the touch screen alot.

I would join you guys (I have MKDS and Tetris DS, and want to pick up MP:H), but I have no idea of how to get Wifi working. I've tried the wireless connection thingy in and around my house, but there's no hotspots around where I live. So do I have to buy something else?

Yeah. They're 40 dollars here, and the send out a wifi signal from your USBport. I am lucky enough to use my neighbors.
Title:
Post by: Archem on November 02, 2006, 11:09:29 PM
Did you set up the DS to connect to a wireless connection? It's a bit silly in that sense, but you have to set up a connection to a wireless network (up to 3). And if that doesn't work (or if you've already done that), then mebe your connection isn't very good, or isn't a compatible type. They sell a wifi adapter for people with no wireless network on Nintendo's website. I would link you, but I don't feel like looking too much right now.

Yo IHAS, get on MSN, we need to play something.
Title:
Post by: WarxePB on November 02, 2006, 11:19:17 PM
So I just plug it in to my USB, install some crap, and then I'm good to go?

Sounds easy enough. If I get the chance, I'm gonna go buy one tonight.

Archem: Nope, I don't have any sort of wireless router, nor does anyone I know have one. So I guess the USB thing is my only option.
Title:
Post by: Cerebus on November 02, 2006, 11:26:20 PM
Uhm... when I try to configure my WiFi, when it's Testing connection, my connection goes to 3 bars... and then 15 sec later goes back to 0 bar... and then it says it can't find my IP adress... hope I'll be able to get it to work... just don't know what to do.
Title:
Post by: DarkFlood2 on November 02, 2006, 11:27:41 PM
@Warxe:
Once you get your wireless, you need to go to wifi options in one of your wifi DS games and set a connection for your game.
Title:
Post by: WarxePB on November 02, 2006, 11:30:15 PM
Yeah, I saw a button in there for the Wifi USB thing when I was checking it out.
Well, at least Nintendo has simplicity going for it: is the connection generally good for you guys?
