Fury of the  Storm, dude!

I love Dragonforce.....they are like the "Fudge Brownie" of Metal.

If you eat too much, it gets painfull.....but the little bit you do eat, is the best ever.....

Check out the new Mastodon Album too....Blood Mountain. Much less classic sounding, be a very very well rounded Album noetheless.

Both of the DF albums I own are phenominal generally. Even if you dont like the sound, its some of the most tech music ever.

I just listened to them, and I thought they were great. I love metal with a dark, harmonic melody, and this is the exact metal I've grown a passion for. Kinda like flamenco.

Hmm, don't listen to much Dragonforce. I did, but then I got into other stuff. Fury Of The Storm is good.

I'd recommend Mastodon over Dragonforce any day though. Everything on the Blood Mountain album is awesomeness. Especially The Wolf Is Loose, just for sheer lead-guitar pwnage. Sleeping Giant, Colony of Birchmen, Crystal Skull, everything on there rawks. Even Bladecatcher. :p

I'd also recommend Death In Fire by Amon Amarth. Because Death Metal is awesome, fire is awesome, and Vikings are awesome. That's awesome cubed. Listen to it.

Okay, shameless Mastodon/Amon Amarth plug over.

EDIT: Oh, Trivium are the worst "metal" band ever. Fact.

I hate DragonForce. They're so....old school. Something about them. Their music is too "neat" for me to listen to. And that vocalist is just terrible. Eh, I could understand why some people like them though. I suppose they have their own style, just not one I'm into.

Torn between "My Spirit Will Go On" and "Through the Fire And Flames".

They are so extreme I couldn't handle their awesomeness in school and had to wait until I got home to take some asprin before going back to them. :P

Well, anything from the Inhuman Rampage album is sheer awesomeness...

... though my overall favourites would have to be "My Spirit Will Go On" (there's no beating that instrumental) and... well, perhaps "Through the Fire and Flames", but there are so many to choose from which I love.

As I told you earlier, I believe that metal is beginning to make a serious come back, and these guy, mastadon, Bullet for my Valentine, Trivium (even though Drag doesn't like them) among others are bringin back a new wave of metal, and Slayer just released a great new album, it's a good time to be a metalhead.

Not to mention every song in Mastodon's Leviathan Album is written
about moby dick... which is a pretty badasp story....and its my belief that its on of the top 5 best composed albums ever to grace the earth....or at least the world of Metal.

Im a big fan of Opeth and Chimaira and Lamb of God too......but im already digressing....

Lamb of God SUX.

I listen to a lot of metal..
mostly GWAR, Pantera, Primus, Sepultura, Converge, Iced Earth, Opeth.. I also listen to some grindcore like Cryptopsy and Cannibal Corpse.. I take part in way too many music discussions to really.. enjoy this thread. At all.

The singer can be a wiener.

I too dislike trivium.

Alot of the Bands You mentioned, MrMister, I quite like.....Gwar....Converge.....primus......


But I could pick off bands that I thought sucked from that list too.






Being from the lower Mainland......listen to much 3 inches?


I freakin love 3 inches of Blood.
They played here a few weeks back. I missed the show.
I always miss 3 inches.

Cannibal Corpse is Death Metal, I'd say.

Lamb Of God do suck most of the time, but I have to say, Redneck from the new album (Sacrament) is awesome. And very easy to play. :D

3 Inches Of Blood... meh. I did try them a while ago, but Deadly Sinners put me right off. That song is terrible.

Now then, the thing about Trivium is all the "We are the new Metallica" stuff. In my opinion, if a band goes out saying they're all great, and are the best band in the world, etc., then fail to meet those expectations, they don't deserve their recording contract. And Trivium are really crappy. The new album is basically the previous one only the songs have different names. XD

This also applies to Avenged Sevenfold. "We are the best metal band to date" my arse.

I won it at a Bar the night before it came out....they had some kind of release party on Metal Mondays. I was hoping to win the anthology (They had 16 maiden Albums for givveaway) but I got the consolation......first time drinking in excess ever paid off, materially.


Drag: Im on the opposite side of the fence for Lamb....I hate the new stuff....Im a fan of the old.

As for 3 inches.....alot of it depends on the recordings you get....theyve gone through alot of guitarists....and as such, alot of recordings.

The best 3 inches songs are "Balls of Ice" and "Curse of the Lighthouse keeper" in my opinion. I can see how somebody could not like them. Alot of peole get turned off by the vocals....

3 inches members started another band too, under a differenbt label....but its not full out produced yet. They have obligations to roadrunner records before the new stuff can be released.
The New Band is "Pride Tiger".....they are very classic-rocky thin-lizzy.

If anyone is interested in hearing them, search them on myspace, or find me in MSM after tonight and Ill send you some songs. Its alot more listener friendly, and its catchy as hell. Happy Party tunes.

I loved them, and I love Through The Flames (I think it's called like that). I love power metal, a very fast and vistuous style. Besides, Dragonforce's guitar kicks ARSE!!!! ARRRRRHHH!!!

Through the Fire and Flames is my favorite, Herman Li is my idol now.

I LOVE TRIVIUM! Ascendancy is the only album I have but it is still great. A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation is an awesome song.
