Title: Smash Bros. Brawl, Trailer 2
Post by: WarxePB on November 06, 2006, 04:24:17 PM
Normally, I wouldn't post something like this, but since I know we all love SSBB...

Trailer (http://youtube.com/watch?v=U0aX0RC1WLM)

Analysis: At about 1:24, it shows ZS Samus jumping in (apparently) low gravity. I think a stage like that (perhaps the space stage shown later in the trailer) is an awesome idea for an SSB stage - I loved the Battlefield stage in SSBM Adventure, simply because there was lower gravity.
Also, it shows some of the new characters' moves. Though Snake with an RPG is an interesting idea, Pit and Metaknight are going to be freakin' AWESOME. Wario... meh, and ZS Samus... meh. And the "crawling" move looks interesting, although I don't know if it's necessary.
Finally, the Fox section is cool. Like I said, a low-grav stage is a great idea, and Fox's redesign looks somewhat cool (and he has his blaster in one hand, so I'm guessing he'll have a totally different moveset).

And, of course, anything else pertaining to this great series of games goes in here as well.

 Wario seems... robotic somehow.

And Snake seems to be cool. He fights relativally normal, that's disappointing, I expected something like being able to CQC the other characters.

Yeah, I noticed that Wario's movements were pretty rigid. I'm guessing that they didn't have the chance to motion-capture some of his moves, so they just quickly whipped up some motions to show off in the trailer.

And Snake can't use guns, because they said that guns donn't really fit into the fantasy world of SSB or something. But he can use explosives, such as the RPG in the trailer, and (apparently) grenades. But maybe he'll have a "sneak up behind someone and do major damage" type move, or a cardboard box that he can hide and sneak around in. XD

EDIT: Also, from what I've been reading, Sonic is almost guaranteed to be in SSBB. Finally, we can all have multiple renditions of the Mario vs. Sonic battle.

I've only seen one site where the title said maybe and the text said "yeah, other third parties could happen" without mentioning Sonic at all.

Well... Sonic did appear in the GBA, which is a Nintendo console. He's got a bigger chance than other theories I saw.

I don't like Fox's new redesign. He's gone from "realistic cartoon" to "a real frickin' fox." His snout took a huge blow.

And I think for Wario they're trying to go with a moveset based on his old Gameboy games, and the rigid movements are part of that.

See Archem? Someone agrees with me!  :D

I prefer the Melee version of Fox.

I still don't notice any significant difference. Fox is Fox, there's nothing else to it. Except for those neckburn. He needs to trim those bad-boys.

I agree with them, the face, just doesn't look too appealing.

Even tho I won't buy the Wii, I will whore out Razor's Wii and play this when he gets it :D

No he doesn't, he went from "realistic mature cartoon" to "that really gay rendition of him from StarFox Command".

For those who can't watch the trailer for one reason or another:

I don't think that Wario is supposed to be not finished. In fact, I do think Wario will move this way. It reflects his WarioWare self.

Here is a picture if you need the better version next to the newer/worse version, just to see the difference.

DarkFlood, I couldn't agree... LESS, I think that this version of Fox looks much better, it suits his latest games, such as Command. Fox is my Favorite SSB character, so I am happy either way, as long as he is in it.

I agree, it does look like his latest game, Command.
And, that version looks terrible. Considering Fox is supposed to be like, 26? these days, they have really regressed and made him look like 12. Looks far too kiddy IMO.

To each their own... Personally I prefer the melee model of him, even though this ones made to look more like his other games. -shrug-

As for the other chars, I'm really just looking forward to Snake and Meta-knight. o.o

Trailer is sweet, game look good, Snake got a Rocket Launcher and fox look like crap. Couldnīt get any better really.

Still, gotta love that Halberd stage...

Actually, Melee fox looks more like a real-life fox than Brawl fox.
