Title: MMORPG's with RPGmaker's
Post by: kadeity on November 08, 2006, 07:37:01 AM
Im curious about making a multiplayer rpg world with any of the rpgmakers. Im not sure if its the sort of thing I WOULD like to do, but im curious as to if it can be done, as to how much is involved(since im sure it would be difficult) and if anyone has actually done it.

If so i would lvoe to try a game like that out.
Please let me know.

The only way you could do an MMORPG with the RPG Maker series is through RMXP, and even then, you're better off using a MUD or MMORPG-specific maker.

well i found a mmorpg specific maker called Eclipse. Apparently you can do most of the work without needing to use Visual basic, but you pretty much need to know it to make a game.

I was thinking about making a simple 4 class 10 levels mmorpg to get used to the system and figure things out, and then upgrading it as my skills improved....

However i need a better way to learn basic. I cant take a class, i dont know anyone who knows it, and im havign trouble with online tutorials ;.

From what Ive gathered there are a couple of different scripts for
RMXP and they multiplayerness is getting better with different releases.

Id give it a try, if nothing else.

Google up dubealex or rmxp.net or something, and browse the scripts archives.

It's possible with RMXP, try searching google for the scripts.

If you download the program Total Eclipse, it gives you basically the same thing, and its much easier. I'd reccomend that before trying to get RMXP to go online.
