Yes I don't know if this was done already but if it was I will delete it.
I love the clive cussler adventure novel series Dirk Pitt. cussler is so awesome when we writes never slows down for a moment in the story.
-
Eragon/
Pendragon.
Any other long book that I can read that keeps my attention.
-
I love the Frank Herbert Dune series. It's not neccessarrily action packed, but the mere scale of the universe he created. He wrote thousands of years of history for an entire system of tons of planets. It's so huge it makes Warxes histories look like a joke (No offence meant Warxey-poo).
On a completely non-poser level, I like a lot of short story authors like Lovecraft and the Brothers Grimm.

been forever since ive read.....dragonlance series, ghost story, the crucible, and idk others
-
Any thing by Kafka or Ginsberg, but that's just lately....
-
The Foundation Series was one of the best I've ever read. The premise of the books is absolute magic - it's the kind of brilliant idea that just is so radically different from anything else in science fiction that it just HOOKS you immediately and keeps you going a thousand pages later. Well it did for me anyway.
Alas for Isaac Asimov :( I haven't found another author like him and I don't think I ever will.
-
Dragonlance series too many to name
Eragon, Eldest, and the third (i've read some of it).
The Outsiders
Hatchet, Brians Winter, The River
-
Umm, lets see, eragon was good, I got about halfway through eldest, i'll probably finish it by the end of the year...
When I was little i used to like the dinotopia series.
I don't read much, my attention span is way way too short...

I've already posted in a topic like this o_O but anyway...
Dante's "Divine Comedy", Maquiavelo's "The Prince", Tolkien, ol greek mithology, norse mithology, I've read Kafka a bit, Rodolfo Walsh (argentinian journalist, great writer, if you guys can get a translation of the book "Operación Masacre" I swear you won't regret it), anything from Dumas (The Count of Montecristo is one of my favourites)...

It may sound a bit childish, but I used to read those "Series of Unfourtunate Events" books, they were actually pretty good, kept my attention enough to read up to the 8th book. I watched the movie, and although it had Jim Carey in it, I wasn't to impressed, and since as of late, I no longer have to read books in any classes (Thank you 11th grade.) I have yet to finish the series, which is unfourtunate, because they have just released the final book.. Oh well.
I also started reading this series by Terry Brookes, called the Landover Saga, I only read the first book (Which has an incredibly cheesey title.) the "Magical Kingdom for Sale." and I really loved it, kept my attention the whole time, if you ever get the oppertunity, and you like fantasy novels, it is deffinently worth the read, good luck finding it though.
Oh, and I read the Harry Potter books when I was in fifth grade (One through four.) they were pretty good, alot better than the movies to say the least. So if you've yet to read them, go ahead, but chances are you already have.

Nobody mentioned Raymond E. Feist. I am disgusted at your taste in fantasy, Charas members.
In my mind, the Conclave of Shadows trilogy is probably the best fantasy trilogy ever written. I'd say it's ever better than Lord of the Rings. Keep your Eragon, I will sit here with King of Foxes and laugh at you.
*Sits and laughs*

Harry Potter: i am so hooked on that waiting for the last one. Eragon: I have to get that one.
Steven King's novels: hmm I may just get some of those. He makes one every week.

I'm sure if Weregnome reads this topic at some point, he'll say something. He likes ol' Feisty, IIRC.
-
Ender's Game. The only series I actually read all the books for.
-
Feist is brilliant. My favourite series is Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. I also love alot of war non-fictions, especially works by Peter FitzSimons
-
Uhm... the only series I have read more than 1 book are Redwall and Harry Potter. My favorite would be Redwall, even though it is supposed to be made for children...
-
Yeah uhm, if the book you're reading has a dragon in it, you're a tool.
-
My favorite is the His Dark Materials trilogy (Golden Compass, Subtle Knife, Amber Spyglass). They kick ass.

I'm reading "The Gods Themselves" right now in English. I read it once before, and it was amazing.

The Immortals, Diadem, and the Indigo saga were some of my favorites, but almost no one's heard of them, let alone read them. :/ It's quite sad.
The Dragon Prince series was good, too. Ooh, and the Warriors series. :3
