Title: ANGEL
Post by: DarkLordYoda on November 28, 2006, 07:51:39 PM
ANGEL
the game

Plot-

Takes place after the final episode of Angel,  the second part of the episode that explains what happens after the cliff hanger ending.

Gameplay-

Rpgmaker standard, but there are some new animations to incorporate the shows martial arts style action.

Characters-

ANGEL- of course
Illyria, Gunn, Spike, Buffy, Faith, Giles, Willow, etc.

Other-

This doesn't mean I've stopped working on the star wars project , but that project will take alot of patience and its good to work on something you can see work getting done on more quickly.

This will try to be as accurate as possible I've seen every episode of BUFFY and ANGEL, and I've listened to some of Joss Whedon's interviews (creator of both shows) so I have a few ideas for where it was headed, but for the most part it is a FANMADE storyline.  But hopefully the true fans of the shows will be able to appreciate it.

There will be a overview of the show to explain the plot for those who have not seen it, and still want to play the game.

The demo will be up probablly within the next few months, assuming the overview doesn't take too long.

You mean Angel like the series?? Im just wondering why make a game about that? if you like Vampires make a game about them with your own story instead.

because the ending a cliff hanger and the rest of the story needs to be told.  It should be a fun game and people enjoy these characters.  Its like when some one makes a harry potter or star wars game, because they are fans.

Didn't that happen once? I could have sworn it went down like this..

Hey, guys, I was thinking today, while pinchin' one out, and I figured a fangame of Sixty Minutes would be a good Idea.

Ummm if you want to try it by all means go ahead but i think you could make something up yourself too. Try it and sees what comes out it then if you dont like it try your own concept.

Well from my point of view itīs better to do a rip-off rather than a follow-up/fan game.

So just make a game with the main character and then just loads of flashbacks and stuff, like people talking to him about the past so you can get the things you like about the um-... Show(!) and yet have a pretty original game.

wow I really posted this with the wrong crowd, oh well, I'll probablly still post the game here but maybe this would be better done on an angel or buffy fansite cuz this is the worst reaction to a game idea I have ever seen, but it doesn't matter this game was mostly for me anyway.

No, it's not because we don't like it. I freakin LOVE Buffy and Angel, generally anything by Joss Whedon. It's because your description didn't say anything. It was a bunch of "I'm to lazy to write out a complete thought for this halfassed attempt. LUV MI PLZ!" Comments like "ANGEL- of course
Illyria, Gunn, Spike, Buffy, Faith, Giles, Willow, etc. " Just back it up.

The thing about fan games is that it's harder to give a good first impression.  Naturally my first reaction is that the maker wasn't original enough to make their own story or characters.  Granted, that's quite the prejudice but it's the case with many people.   Therefore, when making a fangame, you must strive to really make some part of it truly your own.  Otherwise it will go down in flames.
