Post by: forgetaboutit on December 18, 2006, 04:33:10 PM
There is a way to make a battle system like in final fantasy tatics?

Well, I don't think there's any set way for RPGMaker 2k or 2k3. There's some headway being made in the Games forums by Saikar, but I don't think we have a set method yet. Wait and see how it goes, I think Saikar intends to explain how to do it if they can get theirs functional.

I thought I heard rumors of some Tactics-maker or something like that, but I don't know on that one.

As far as I know, I didn't think that anybody had successfully made and posted a system like that. So the best move would be to wait and see on Saikar's, or dig through the tutorial section.

Sorry to interrupt the noobfest, but there's a way. I can't personally help you, but I can tell you it'll take a ton of coding to do. Look about for this one recent thread where someone's doing a game like this if you want proof.

There's a make called SimRPGMaker. It makes games like FE. That's close enough to FFT.

I wouldn't advise simrpg maker 95.  I've heard that you can do pretty much the same thing with rm2k3.  Using sim would limit yourself quite a bit.

I already told you how to do it. I think I have the right to call you a moron now, you moron.

Generally, if you have to ask how to make something, it means you don't have the experience. However, if you're looking for a tutorial, go on gamingw.net like I told you to beforehand.

I'm sorry to say this, but the system you're asking for will always be hard. Not just hard, it will take a rediculous amount of coding. There is no avoiding it.

If you're going to have that attitude then give up.
