media player 11 disables your rpgmakers bgm selector's ability to play midis if media player is set to the default for playing midis. Don't do this! Leave it off for these!
Note: it will still play them anyways, it just won't interfere with the Bgm selector.

So, you're saying... what?
-
In order for the midis to play you must make sure the media player 11 isn't set to play midis as the default player. If you don't do this the midis (in the bgm selector) won't play and to play them you must open the midi in media player which then plays it over the the same midi you were playing to begin with. That is what i am saying. It overlaps the midi player in Rpgmaker Whatever. Doesn't matter which one you have.
What you get is you have the same midi playing twice; one after the other. Turn off the default setting (uncheck midis in the file types tab in media player 11 to fix this.)
Example: ff1 overword playing twice; one slightly behind the other.
Do I have to print screen this to explain this?
-
Right click the title bar and go to tool and then options.
-
Then click options click on the filetypes tab and uncheck midis.
Note: Media player 11 will still play midis for you even after you do this.
Note: some versions of rpg2k3 will allow you to play mp3 files. I found no problem between rpg2k3 and mediaplayer with mp3s
There. Now with that, anyone who had a problem like this should be able to use the bgm selector again.

What nobody has this problem yet you will as soon as you get media player11. oh boy i can't wait till the other noobs come acrossthis problem! lol

I have WMP11. I have no problems.
I have 2 explanations of your problem:
1. You have a song paused in WMP. Stop the song, don't pause it.
2. WMP has set your playing volume to zero. Raise it back to the desired amount.
There you have it; two reasons that your songs might not be playing, and two ways to fix them without having to turn to another player to play midis.
-
Nope wasn't any of those problems this was a brand new media player 11. everything was fine until that installed and the way I did it I fixed it (the bgm selector) and the midis still play I just have to select media player from a list of programs when I click on a midi.

I turn the default back on and i can't use my bgm selector
My way is the only way for now.
Ok i got it it was a playlist open not a song paused.
God damn i hte mp11
