In case you did not know, ISO is being hit for a law suit and soon will be gone, sadly..
-
I noticed it was down while I was searching for a CD. Its a shame. Probally the best torrent site of them all.
-
No no, the pirate bay and mininova are much better.
ISO HUNT is all capitals.
-
Suprnova > all other sites
(R.I.P)
I noticed it was gone when I was looking for pxs games to play on my psp..
-
Remember kids, the law is serious business.
-
The law is for people. But I'm no people, I'm a pirate! (http://www.talklikeapirate.com/piratehome.html)
-
Hot dang! ISO HUNT gone?
That sucks.
*spamlas*
The futures of torrents has been terminated.
-
No wai, that blows...
Well, Pirate bay and spytorent are still out there....
Damn the law!
-
You guys still use torrents?

He uses Emule, which I tried, and though it sucked.
-
Yeah, Emule pretty much blows ***.
ISO HUNT gone, it can't be. I actually think I'm crying right now. I spent months downloading crap that I found there, and now... its... *sob*
If ISO HUNT is closing down, who else is going to be shut down?
-
I don't use torrents. Too ineffecient. No seeders and your left high and dry. People talk like "oh it is so great and easy and reliable" pfft, sure, and cows sprout antlers and cluck like a chicken. These days direct downloads have started to become big again with things like filefront and megaupload.
So if torrents die. Big whoop. It ain't nothin anyways. And in most cases a coding disaster. Have you seen the crap in the code?
-
The Pirate Bay is buying Sealand, so they will have diplomatic immunity.
Which means.. no getting shut down!!
-
Seriously? XD

*ahem*
Yeeep, I got something that will prove you wrong.
Go on Google and type in "Bit Torrents" and look at all the sites you Google comes up with.
So there's gotta be something to this torrent thing.
Also most really good torrent sites are blocked off to the public for such reasons as ISO HUNT but people still leak their **** to sites like ISO Hunt and when someone tries to download whatever it was leaked they get a registration error.
Direct downloading....
wait in line.....
if your comp shuts down you're not always able to pick up where you left off...
Can be slow due to multi people downloading.
Unlike torrents which can be faster due to multi people downloading.
(Depends on how far you are in the download)
There are ups and downs to direct and torrents and depending on what you want really matters.
-
That's why we now have Usenet.
I'm only using Bit Torrent to download my anime and Powerpuff Girls Z. Wait, that last one IS anime. Technically.

Didn't really prove me wrong, at all. All you said was what was mentioned. Speed relies on how many are downloading. And also if there is a seeder, so you may actually wait longer than it should have. Or if all people with the complete file are gone you may not ever get it at all unless you take the extra EFFORT to contact one of them, given if they have released any contact info. That is the major flaw in torrents. As for the download getting cut and not being resumeable... well... what are you doing while downloading? Hacking your computer? These things don't happen so often today unless you get viruses on a daily basis for fun. Many people today have broadband, me included, but meh.
And btw, I assume you use Fileplanet as an example of direct downloading, everybody knows that is a crap deal. When they became money eyed the world sorta suffered.

Emule. Kazaar. LimeWire. Peer to Peer in general.
