Perhaps there's already a tutorial about this, but I thought I just do it.
Note: This tutorial is for Paint because EVERYBODY has paint, ofcourse, other programs may be used.
==========
Intro
==========
A lot of games miss character emotions like sleeping, angry, crying, shocked...And they make the game even more realistic? But how to make them? It's simple, if you just do this tutorial.
========
Sleeping
========
Difficulty: Easy
========
Open your character in Paint and zoom in to 800%.
Use this
and select the skin colour next to the eyes.
Use the pencil to go over the eyes(don't do the eyebrows) like this:
Now, draw two black stripes underneath the eyebrows like this:
As you can see, there's still something missing. The colour of the skins doesn't match anymore, so darken up the skin underneath the eyebrows. (Use the
to choose the dark skin).
You should get this effect now:
Last but not least: highlight the eyes to have a little bit more a 'round eye effect':

Now zoom out, you now have a sleeping guy :).

========
Shocked
========
Difficulty: Easy
========
Start like as the character would be sleeping: paint over the eyes, but don't do the eyebrows!

Use instead of skin colour white. Yes, that's right, draw a white square and then put a black spot in the middle...and voila! There you are! A shocked person:

========
Happy
========
Difficulty: Easy to Medium
========
Same as always, start clearing the eyes but now, clear the eyebrows too:

Draw two triangles where the eyes are supposed to be and darken the forehead.

Now shade the forehead a little bit so it's look more realistic:

You can stop here but I'll post some things here you can add to the character to make it look better:
-A smiling mouth: just take a red colour and make a mouth.

-Cheering: this is a little bit harder. First, use the
tool and RIGHT CLICK on the background of the image. This is important for later.
Now, select the
.
Make sure the
is selected. This will make the background invisible, so the arm can go over the hair without any trouble. Put the arm were you want to put it and edit the body a little bit. You should have something like this:

You can also raise the second arm if you want to make the real cheering effect. This should be the result:

Congratulations! You made your own cheering person ;)

More is coming later!

Simple but helpful to certain people that need help with poses and expressions ..... you could go a lil more in dept with screen shots showing selections and such but i think you did a good job in general anyway keep it up
