The following articles: http://editthis.info/charas_project/1337 (http://editthis.info/charas_project/1337), http://editthis.info/charas_project/N00b (http://editthis.info/charas_project/N00b) and http://editthis.info/charas_project/R-tard (http://editthis.info/charas_project/R-tard): I don't think any of these terms need a place in the Charas Wiki, or at least, they should be merged into one article. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Also, we could use some of those table templates with links to related articles. Probably one for site-based stuff (Main Site, Generators, Complete Resources), one for a list of forums, and possibly one for the Tutorials project. Anyone interested in doing those?

I believe n00bs should probally be taken out. Every forum has them, it's nothing special. The Charas wiki should generally be about charas, not generalizations of all forums.

However, I can tell that we do treat our newcomers a lot different than normal. I'm trying to get better at it, and think I've improved greatly.

I have yet to read R-tard though.

I say they should both go. I seriously don't remember making that R-tard article, but it has nothing to do with Charas anyway so it can burn.

Oh, and the 1337 article should go too.

Although I think these articles need to get pwned, I'd like to see somewhere an explaination as to what a noob is, and how it's different from a newb. Not to the same level as this, but rather a "noob = this, newb = this, kthxbi" kind of thing.

Make a page about charas' general philosophy towards newcomers. You can include noobs, first post requesters, the abolishing of the first post rule and ongoing mod struggle to stop people flaming newbs who do it, etc.

I like Lesser Moose's idea. We'll create an article called "Newbies on Charas", which describes the general philosophy of Charas (as LM put it) towards new members, as well as definitions of "Newb" and "N00b".

Okay guys, I've added a category for articles in need of attention (http://editthis.info/charas_project/Category:Articles_in_need_of_attention). I'm going to add all the relevant articles later on, but it's up to us to clean them up.

I meant to add that to the main page, but was unable to due to the stupid news box not showing up...

Yeah, but the reason I know that is because I made that one as a joke to the n00b flood around that time. Something I blame myself to (hey, I can't help I'm a n00b-magnet).

By the way, I think it's worth mentioning in the New members on Charas (http://editthis.info/charas_project/N00b) article, the Mistreatment of Noobs and Newbies part, that RRWP was the first one to notice this. But it's just my opinion.

That, and I was partially to blame for the behaviour of the oldies towards newcomers.
