Title: Knitting/Crocheting
Post by: Linkizcool on February 08, 2007, 01:54:14 AM
Okay..I have a confession.

I joined the knitting club at school.

Yes, I am a guy.

No, I am not gay.

Right now, we are going to be knitting/crocheting toques and stuff for homeless people in our city. I don't know exactly when we start, but this will hopefully prove to be fun. So anyone else here crochet/stitch? If so, post comments and tutorials and stuff.

Have fun.

I have absolutely no idea where this thread is headed.

Okay...

You can knit.

Since when did knitting and a sexual preference became associated with each other? >_>.. Just because someone can knit does not make them gay..

I occasionally make repairs to my clothes but I have never put it to any recreational applications. I don't really see a problem. I thought we have overcome some of the old fashion views of gender roles.

Hell yea! Ummm uh wait....crochet? At first I was thinking you meant croquet (just checked spelling) which I had alot of fun playing when I was lil...going around hitting the ball as hard as I can while my brother did the same and the both us would watch the two collide together and make a loud noise as they richote (??? bounce)...

Dont know exactly what I was doing other than making some kind of hand puppet for Survival Management and may have been another time way back but other than that I really have'nt done anything of the sorts...

I do love getting those quilts made from my grandmother and great-grandmother!!! Keeps me warm during the snow season!

I'd probably have fun doing that if I had the patience and didnt prick myself all the time...

That's cool.

I sewed a finger puppet in sixth grade once. I found sewing to be relaxing. Too bad I really have no reason to do so...

...Hey, you know, not to sound like a sexist pig, but chicks dig guys who knit.

I tried sewing in class before, as a mothers day gift project... I ended up buying her something instead... Stupid sewing...

Needless to say, I'm never doing THAT again.

I can build a wall. How manly is that?
Title:
Post by: SonicChaos7 on February 08, 2007, 03:37:09 PM
LOL! FAG!

Well, Link, I don't think you're gay just because you choose to do something that women tend to do more than men (or at least from what I know). Nothing wrong with it at all.

That's great, that you're helping people with your hobby.

Stereotypes aside, knitting is a creative outlet just like any other, so the attraction is understandable. Keep on with it dude.

Knit me some work gloves.

Steel Studs are sharp when I cut them, with tools, and my hands, and then proceed to build wall structures with them, and Use Screws to Adhere drywall to them.

No seriously though, no need to be embarassed. Its a creative outlet man. Nothing to be ashamed of. Of course some dudes will give you a hard time, but thats because theres a quota of macho to fill.

Seriously though.....I could use some work glove liners. Its cold as a witch's teat here.

Back in my Learn a Little Bit About Everything (TM) phase, I tried it for like 20 minutes. Meh. Too boring for me. Though the fact you actually can make useful things is sort of nice.

Tried it once, thought it was boring. I also had to do it in art class once too.

Okay guys and girls and guygirls (lookin at you Meis), I officially made a toque. Took me three days, not bad for my second try. Right now I'm in school, and *** soon as I have the time, I'll post some gangsta pics of it.

I know a girl who knits. Knit's pretty darn well, too. But we're talking about guys...

Nope. I know no male dude who knits. Or crochet's. Not even me. I suck at the knittings.

Checkitout...now how you people do not know what a toque is, I am surprised...everybody wears them around here.

Edit: Saw the "Canadian Variant" section on the Wiki.
That explains that.
