 Really cool. You've got talent, you know? The only flaw I see is that the summoned hand has... weird fingers, like as if it was broken.

I'd say you're better with pixel art than actual pencil and paper... its just... on the larger works, the edges look out of place. They take away a lot from the overall image. Also, the bodies look slightly disproportional. Very slightly. To me anyways.

Hey, this is nice. I like your style.

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, I'm still trying to work on proportions. It's not perfect, but I've improved a lot from like a few years ago. I get that comment a lot about my pixel art being stronger than the drawings, I'll still work on them both as I would still like to improve.

I agree with Desi. Some of the sprites are fantastic. The drawing is pretty good too but you need to work on the heads, the faces look a bit odd sometimes.

I liked the Sakaki one, particularly because I loved Azumanga.

You do have potential, keep at it.

Your last art picture is amazing. I really like that. Everything looks perfect.

Most of the smaller sprites are good too, but the larger ones could use some work. The Sakaki one has some issues with the legs. They kinda stagger oddly with the three pixels down/one over, then two pixels down/one over, ect. The hand could also use more shading with colors. Using a small ammount of colors is great, but for larger projects, don't be afraid to use a few more.

Mebe it's just me, but all the women look just a little... Wide. They're great, but... Wide. Just a little.

I don't really agree with Archem. The bodies look okay. The heads are too wide, that's true, but the bodies seem fine.

To your credit, they're much better than anything I can do.

The bodies arent wide, I dont think....I think the curves could stand to be a bit exxagerated though. The body proportions are almost bang on for a anatomical reference, but in Manga you have to exagerate proportions.

But not with your boobs. The boobs are big enough.

The work is really nice. Its nice to see other artists here. Nice nice nice.

Do you ever work with a tablet?
Some of the pixel works have very hand-drawn looking lines..if those lines were made with a mouse, Id love to see you work with a tablet.

Keep it up. Very nice. :Plight:

everything looks really good except the heads and the shoulders.  the shoulders' bends look to soft, and just alittle bit wider shoulders would help, and the head's look alittle small.  eh, its just my opinion.

I notice its very similar to how I draw, alittle creepy actually. o,o

Very nice.
I don't agree with Dominicy though, the shoulders look fine for the way you draw. But I can see how in some drawings they could stand to be a tad wider not too wide since girls typically don't have wide shoulders.

@Meiscool: I haven't worked with a large sprite like the Sakaki one before. I see what you're saying, if I get around to making another large sprite like that, I'll take that into account.

@Archem2: The women don't seem wide to me. Also, I don't like it when girls are too skinny.

@gemini: I was thinking of first getting down the normal human proportions before going and play around with exaggerating them. I'll get to that, though, as the next few drawings I want to do are in a style that doesn't use normal human proportions. I'm too poor for a tablet... ;_;

I don't really put much thought into doing the shoulders, maybe I should.

Thanks for all the comments. I'll take them into account for future drawings. Well, here's some more stuffs.

Oceans...

If you have a paypal account, or a close comorade with one, Keep an eye out on ebay.

Ive got a wacom tablet with a 5x7 surface....Its pressure sensitive up to 512 levels....

It cost a couple of hundred bucks new...

But on Ebay, Ive seen the same one sell for 15 bucks. You just gotta deal hunt for a while.

Honestly, just something to think about. You wouldn't be dissapointed

I wount go back to drawing with a mouse ever again. Its so worth it.
And to boot, if you happen to be left handed or ambidexterous, You can use the mouse and the pen simultaneously...Like, double the fun.

I just got my paycheck today, so I'll look into those tablets. If I find a good one for under 20, I'm definitely getting it.

"It seems you like spriting girls.

I do like spriting girls, but the main reason why most of them are girls is that most of my games have female main characters. I want to eventually draw all of the characters that I've used, but I haven't had that much free time to do so. That being said, I might try spriting you. I won't make a big sprite like Sakaki, though.

Do you want me to sprite an undead dinosaur? I'll give it a try, but I don't want to take more sprite requests after that.

I think it was a joke since we think of meis as a girlfriend around here....... :P

Keep up the good work tho. And it's okay to have wide shoulders sometimes, just work on the curves and noone will really notice the shoulders.  :happy:

First doesn't match too well, second is practically exact except no bench.  Nice.

Post by: Oceans Dream on March 17, 2007, 05:52:54 PM
@Midnight: I'll try. Haven't had a chance to draw much this semester though.

@Dominicy: They weren't supposed to be exact. With this project, I want to make a non-polluted/trashed version of the photo. Basically create my idealized version of it. I didn't have time to finish the bench, and I probably won't, so I may replace the table with something I prefer. I admit I went a little overboard with adding the tree, but I wanted to make it not so empty and boring looking.

@Saikar: Thanks!

@Meiscool: Heheh. Well, I could probably make you a sprite anyway, but that'll have to wait for a while. University/Work steals too much of my time.

@Drenrin: Yeah, that's me.

@aboutsoandthis: Thanks!

Ah, thought so, well you're work is very impressive. Your hand drawings could use some work, but they're so much better than anything I could do.
Title:
Post by: Oceans Dream on March 20, 2007, 05:42:33 AM
Yeah, I don't do hand drawings much, especially not compared to sprites.

Here's the faces that I'm going to use in my future project, Island Dreams. Vivian and her various expressions.

That's quite the push up bra she's got there.

Great work, especially on the hair.

*Once again pulls out stamp of approval but big enough to crush cities* Very good work on that :D *stamps thread* :3

I've been working alittle bit into custom face sets and full body views of my characters,  maybe after awhile I'll make a thread.

Thanks. The hair was actually pretty annoying to work with, glad it came out okay.

@Dominicy: Thanks! Yeah, go ahead and make a new topic for your stuffs.
