I've seen many favorite game threads, but never a favorite whatever ZKX calls them thread, so i figured it was about time we made one. Just simply state what whatever ZKX calls them you prefer over the others. you should probably also explain why as well.
As for me, the Sega Dreamcast. :P
Why?:
1.It is not obsessed with graphics so it does not take 5 minutes to load a level, it only takes about 30 seconds.
2. Because the dreamcast diiscs are not covered in textures, shadows, etc. there are many more level and many more secretsw and unlockables.
3.With some cd burning, it can play any game made before it. This includes NES, SNES, NEO GEO, NEO GEO POCKET, PS1, and most arcade games.
4.The VMU (memory card) for the dc can play games by itself. Simple as they are, they do help pass the time.
5.This is the only whatever ZKX calls them that does not need a gameshark to transfer saved game files onto its memory cards.
6.It was the first whatever ZKX calls them to be able to connect to the internet and only at 4.99$ a month.
7.It did not crash every hour like the ps1.
8.There are four memory card slots.
9.You did not have to buy something to play with four players.
That sums it up.

For me, it was the super nintendo. Though it was not 3-d like its playstation competitor, it was the system that released the best games. Super Mario World, Zelda LTTP, Final Fantasy 4-6, Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia, etc. The super nintendo was the best system of its time, even though the ps1 had better graphics. But, if you think about it on a file size matter, you find out that one ps1 game is about 700 mb, while snes games are around 5 mb. :| This is why, in my opinion, the snes is the best console. Need I say more?
-
SNES. So many absolute classics on there, like SMW, SMW2, DKC2, etc etc.
Although N64 had Starfox, Super Mario 64, TLoZ:OoT...
I think I'm going to have to cheat and say the Wii, cause hopefully all of the above will end up on that.
-
Sega Saturn, because Sonic R, Saturn Bomberman, and Bomberman Fight!
Saturn Bomberman is the best in the series. Saturn also has NiGHTS and a bunch of other k00l games
-
I loved my Genesis, mainly because of Phantasy Star IV.
And also my PS1/PS2. Lots of great games, although I've played quite a few crappy ones.
-
I'm saying Wii because it's my current favorite and because of Razor's l33t-hax.
-
Playstation
Vagrant Story
Final Fantasy 9
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy 7
Mortal Kombat 4
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Chrono Chross
Bushido Blade
Resident Evil 2
Tekken 3
Metal Gear Solid
Gran Turismo
Tenchu
Crash Bandicoot
Spyro the Dragon
Ape Escape
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Tomb Raider
How could you not love the Playstation?!?!?
-
I really could never decide which console I liked the most. I just know that there were games that I really enjoyed, and if there were enough of those on a certain console, I wanted to buy that console.
I guess I played my Playstation the most, although I played my Xbox a lot too (Mostly because when I had them they were the only console I had [Had a Playstation for like 3 or 4 years, traded it in for an Xbox for a similar amount of time, but by then had learned to just get the money for a new console instead of trading in])
-
Dreamcast definately.
-
Playstation is the favorite of the ones I have.
-
New reason for choosing Wii: It plays GameCube!!!
-
I'm a playstation gal.. but I also love the gamecube and snes... but ps is number one for meh.
-
X-Box 360 or Wii. I only like PS for RPGs.
-
Snes, followed by the Ps2.

Indeed.

I don't choose one. I like them all. Except the Wii.
-
I like the playstation and the Snes, my favorite type of games are rpgs, and the snes and playstation have a lot of great ones, plus the snes has a bunch of other fun little games.
Though my ONE favorite would be the PC, I can play psx and snes games on that :p
-
Genesis or n64
ogre battle 64 was a good game
-
I love my fighting games just as much as I love my RPG's and the Dreamcast put out some outstanding fighting games...
Power Stone
Power Stone 2
Marvel Vs Capcom 2
Plasma Sword
Heavy Metal
Guilty Gear
Which is why I lub my DC and it's abilities to play roms and psone games. lol

Well technically, the PC would be a whatever ZKX calls them as you can play games on it and it has games made especially for it.
It's okay, but I'd prefer a whatever ZKX calls them that was made with the title of "whatever ZKX calls them"

Actually you haven't even really done that much.
-
My N64.
It was the console I grew up on.
It was the coolest thing in the world to me.
That is, until I got my own computer . . .
Mmmm . . . ROMs . . .
-
A PC isn't a console. A PC is a tool, pure and simple. Playing games just makes it a tool that can play games. Does the fact you can put games on a scientific calculator make it a console? Nope, it's just a tool that can play games.

I said I donīt like the Wii. Thatīs my opinion.
-
Upon further inspection of the definition of the word, it is.
But explaining one's opinion is just common courtesy.
-
Because it's the only console I've yet to play =P Jeeze, come on. How can a console I haven't played be my favourite? Well, also haven't played the PS3, but I know I'll like that.

I would like to see these calculator games.
As for my favourite console, I'd go with the PS2, since my favourite games have been on the PlayStation and PS2. Backwards compatibility ftw.
The PSP could be a contender if the games get better. At the moment there are 3 games out of the hundreds available that I genuinely enjoy playing.

You've never heard of a calculator game? Half of the guys in my Spanish class play them non-stop.
I do agree about the PSP. It should be doing better than this.
-
TI-83 games have been around since forever. If you had a link cable for your calculator and the game Phoenix... awexome
Actually, an RPG Maker was made for the TI-83 if I remember correctly.
Regardless, a PC is not a console, and a calculator is not a console.

Ed is now a sell-out [totally censored].
But that's just my opinion. Carry on!
-
Actually Ed, the topic still doesn't work. A video game system isn't a tool, an object used for leisure time activity. It has no purpose other than to entertain, unlike a computer. A computer is used to do what a human can't, like a hammer or shovel.
If you want to get seriously correct, just say "Favorite thing that plays games."
-
If you say so.
-
Hahahaha. Hoo. I feel loved.
-
I saw the title change and immediately assumed Ed was on crack.
-
I'm convinced that he's on meth.
-
Pac Man and Pong pwn all :Plight:
-
Lawl arcade cabinets!

Game Boy Advance.
Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hand and Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django (Most Innovative Games I've Ever Played)
Fire Emblem
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (!!)
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Riviera: The Promised Land (!!)
Yggdra Union (!!)
Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (!!)
Breath of Fire II
Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls
Final Fantasy IV (haven't played)
Final Fantasy V (haven't played)
Final Fantasy VI (haven't played)
Gunstar Super Heroes (!!)
Golden Sun
Golden Sun 2
Warioware
Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror (haven't played)
Megaman Battle Network 3: Blue and White
Metroid: Zero Mission
Super Mario Land Advance (haven't played)
Advanced Wars (haven't played)
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
You can't deny that these games are awesome--except for the ones you haven't played. The Game Boy Advance had a great run--better than the Gamecube, anyway, but still great.

Just a word of advice, don't use games as evidence when you've never played them. Amazing Mirror sucked. As did Minish Cap, Gunstar Super Heroes (Original was WAY better), Battle Network ruined the good Mega Man name, Kingdom Hearts was just gay, Riviera was terrible and Warioware should neve constitute a $30 purchase.
Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken
Fire Emblem: Fuin no Tsurugi
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Golden Sun
Golden Sun 2
Metroid: Zero Mission
Advanced Wars
Those are pretty much the games from your list that constitute buying a GBA. I had to add FE 6 just because it pwnd.
-
Ed, bastard, go rename the topic title to something NORMAL darnit.
-
SNES or GBA are definately my top game systems. PS2 is coming up now, since I recently bought a LOT of PS/PS2 games and am really enjoying them.
I got Dirge of Cerberus, and I loved it. Anyone else play that one?

Sorry. I was sucked into oblivion (Firefox = not working, IE = just not smart.). It was only meant to last for a day. Fixed razor's Fix.
-
Oblivion's got enough mods that I consider it a console. :D
