You absolutely definately NEED to turn the message box transparency off when people are speaking.
-
Looks good lukas ;).
But it would be a little bit stupid if every1 says: 'good' or 'bad' so I'm going to give you a little bit advice.
I suggest you should fill up the maps a little bit more. Like in the first screens, put different kinds of grass(darker, mud, flowers...). In the king's throne room, perhaps some statues or flowers...
Besides that, I would like to see some more ;). Keep up the good work.

A) Why does the font suck?
B) I suggest for the intro, instead of the message command for the text, make some pictures, and use a combination of show, move, and erase picture commands. You can use a lot of different fonts and it looks better. And the maps are still empty. Use some shadows, flowers, rocks, and grassy areas to fill it in.

I'm not a big fan of the burning village scene from looking at that screenshot, it looks very B-ish and unrealistic with the same type of flames everywhere. If you'd like I could help you spice up the burning village a bit, or at least tell you how it's done. Send a PM if you're interested.
With the right features I think this game could turn out to be pretty good.
-
this looks pretty interesting. the maps are about average, but eh, I suck at maps too. the face sets are a bit mixed, and the knight's face set's armor is purple, but his armor is grey in game. I suggest using a purplish knight for him.
If you need help making story and such, I can do that.
also, fail at this, and I'll grind you into powder. :3

you mind sharing the two chipsets you used in those screens? I like em. Looks nice, but I dont approve of the green bright system, I dont think it fits.
-
All of the chipsets of that style can be found at a nifty, japanese RM site by the name of First Seed Material (http://www.tekepon.net/fsm/). It's where Mac and Blue have set up base and continued to make their glorious resources.

I don't mean to be a bastard
but...
There wasn't enough soldiers in the village
to stop 3 soldiers from burning the place down?
And the whole storyline is A massive cliche
The Whole little "Final Fantasy Tactics scene" with the father Does definetly need more things in it... but the thing I'm really concerned about is:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
King Dude
"Son... Save Azhurin"
Son
"KAY DAD!"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Not word for word, but pretty much...
Actually what I wrote would have been better.
Your script writing need some work. O.O
Yeah I like the Fathers face set, Im guessing you found the Japanese Face set maker Program? Why not make them all with that?
-
anakiiinnn, you're breaking my taaaaaaables

Before I start, I don't want to insult you or anything :p.
You see, when I saw such stories I used to say 'cliché' too, but then someone answered my post(I don't know who) that 'clichés' are always part of RPG's. They were always a part and they still are, even in the RPG's that are published today and are not made in RPGmaker.
To make it short: Most RPG's have cliché's but that's fine as longs as is works out well and it doesn't bother you to much. It has been like this and it will probably stay like this for a while.

It looks good for me, the only thing I dont like to much are the stairs in front of that house, u should try to fix it, but, it do looks good, upload ur game when u have it ready, so we could try it out ^^
-
I´d say this sounds a bit like Fire Emblen, you are a hier of some nobel family and something goes terribly wrong and because of the parents having a hard time they send you away either to protect you or so that you can raise an army of trusty peole that will help in reclaiming the country.
So yea, just make this a bit improved, more dark and mysterious in a FFXII, Soul Callibur III, FFIX or even Heroes V way.
They use the same base as you do but they evolve it into something so much more, that is the only thing needed I´d say.
Just as most other here, I don´t seek to insult you, I´m just trying to get you to improve.

About the stairs, for my game Yin-Yang, I used the same chipset and had the same problem with the stairs. So I took some stairs from another chipset and put it in the village chipset...Feel free to use it, lucas(and other people of course)!

Wow. The message box is so flashy... Wow again.
The story is quite classic ( the village gets burned, the kid becomes a great hero and saves the universe by getting enormous powers) but it does look quite good.
Good luck :D
-
Again, looks good, but you still have some spelling errors 'like soliders'...look out for those...
Like the gifs ;).

thanks silverblade. You are right. There is no original game nowdays, because there are not new stories. All the ideas have been used in some game. It is impossible to make a game that is not a cliche. Can you say one game that isnt?
That's a defeatist attitude to take. If there are no new stories and ideas, why are we even making games at all? While a game may have one or two unavoidable cliches, not every game IS cliche.
Remember that a cliche is a part of a story that was really cool when it was new, but has been done so many times in things after that it has lost all of the punch it once had. Not everything that has been done before is a cliche. Every RPG has hit points, but hit points aren't cliche - they're just part of the simulation.
As authors and game makers, we should be actively looking at our games and trying to get rid of the big offensive ones. Taking a look at a scene and saying "this is cliche - it's been done too many times before. I need to change it" should be part of the game making process. Take Vidian's comments seriously and use that as an opportunity to make that part of your game better.

Hmm, I'm a writer myself, maybe you and I could team up to make a game some time? PM me if you would want to.
Other then that, it does look good, the conversation between the king and his son though is awful
