Title: Least Favorite Game
Post by: aboutasoandthis on April 09, 2007, 01:54:24 AM
What game gave you the worst experience?

*To start off, I don't want to see any fights in this thread. If a person doesn't like a game you enjoy, don't try to convince them otherwise.

My least favorite game would be Baulder's Gate 2 for the Gamecube. I wanted to get into RPGs, and after reading reviews and stuff, I rented it. I coun't understand it, I was listening to boring music, and I was basically killing rats. The only redeeming factor in the game came from the bartender. I figured out that I do not play that many RPGs, other than the Japanese ones from the original Playstation.

What is your personally least favorite game?
Try to keep it to one.

Lunar: Dragon Song hands down.

I bought it for the DS, thinking it to be a decent rpg. TERRIBLE. Bad system, bad growth, lame battle system, typos, no more than 10 facesets in the whole game. "Gpddess" was an actual typo from that game.

Unlimited Saga - PS2 (Square Enix was on something when they made this)

Why? OMG they took out walking on maps, all you do is select a direction and a random event happens, its nothing like the Saga Frontier games, worst sequal made...Let alone through out the game I ran into little enemies.

A waste of effort on Squares Part, for shame... _sweat_

I'd like to say FF8, because I really didn't like it that much.
But it wasn't a bad game.

Drakkengard for the PS2, however.
Worst music in a video game ever. Every track would have 2 seconds repeating forever.
Gameplay was repetitive, too. Hack, slash, kill.

Probably not the worst, though.

I would defininately have to say the first two Legend of Zeldas.  I could never really get into them.  I got really bored playing them.  I was fine with the ones after that though.

Final Fantasy X.

Too many boring cutscenes and not enough game. Horrible music too.

If you ask for bad, you ask for games like Robocop or Superman Returns. Those two are so bad it's amusing.
A game that is bad, but without the amusment however is The Hobbit for the GameCube.
Can't believe I wasted 50 bucks for that ****. I shouldn't have to explain myself. Everything was just crap.

Most boring game. Hmm. Most of the NES qualify but I'll keep it to the more recent consoles.

I'd say either of the Kingdom Heart. God I hate those. What a waste of money on my uncle's part. In the end, it's personal opinion. Live with it.

Games made based on movies.....it's like watching the movie but working hard just to watch worst of scenes...and doesnt always go along with the movie either...bad dialogue or just too damn repetitive...

Jurassic Park on Genesis...

Got addicted and like Harvest Moon but also hated it too....expecially when it came to winter....

OPPOSITE'D

Most of the Xbox (and 360) games relying strictly on graphics apply for me. (Halo series exempt.)

But if I had to say one, I'd have to say Metal Gear Solid 2. too much dialogue!!!!

You, sir, fail for that comment.
You fail forever.

I'd have to say... FarCry: Vengeance for the Wii. Terrible port. I can't figure out how it went so sour from the awesomeness of the other forms of it. Terrible controls, too much pop-up, next to no AI, only two player multiplayer, no map editor... The list goes on.

Can't really name a game... I tend to force them out of memory.

YES! Well, almost. X-2 was horrendous. The dress sphere system was pretty gay and I felt like a gay/perv playing even the first six minutes. I can't believe this was made by Square, it's not possible!!

Final Fantasy crystal chronicles was bad... like real bad. No plot what so ever, other then getting some crystal juice to fill up the big crystal.. I had like 3 years (as in how many turns it took to fill the stupid crystal up) going before I gave up on it.

Oh, my my, so many to pick from...

Let me start with Suikoden Tactics. Hate that with a passion.
Then we have Unlimited Spiderman, which was a complete waste of money. (the game is friggin' 2 hours long, unless you want to make all the useless and repetitive missions which unlock you NOTHING AT ALL)
Then we have the old Blade game, and Blade II.
I shall proceed with Twisted Metal III (I actualy liked it, but my cousin made me play with him during an entire month non-stop. It's now as fun as watchin paint dry.)
Moving on to Grandia III (which was fun, but WAY TOO SHORT)
And last and definately least we have The Simpsons: Hit and Run. Leave GTA for GTA, folks.

Oh, and The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King for PS2. It's 3 hours of gameplay, and the unlockables are *gasp* watching an interview with the actors!
Seriously now, do people think we even care about those interviews? Othe unlockable was a Devil May Cry 3-ish tower, (the one where you must face and defeat enemis in order to get to the next level.) Only it was BORING.
The combos were dull, the gameplay was dull, the voice acting was dull. The game was not bad, it was just the meh-iest game I ever saw.

I woulda said CC if X-2 weren't worse by far. i didn't even get that far, I played about three hours (two of which were character creation) and got bored as hell.

I actually liked ffx-2... *waits for some smartass to say "it's cause you're a girl"* Once you got past the dress spheres, it wasn't that bad...

Cuz you're a girl.
Actually, the reason I didn't like it was the same reason I don't like most FF games: Waay to linear to be called an RPG. The best RPGs are by Bioware, like KOTOR and Baldur's Gate: Throne of Bhaal. The only reason I single out X-2 is because the weird mascot suit and the dressphere system.

*doubts friendship with Grandy* :P

Anyway:

Ar Tonelico - **** no...I don`t wanna remember...
BoF - Dragon Quarters: had everything to be the best BoF so far...made me cry cause they blew it with that stupid going back to the beginning and limited dragon use ****.
Y`s: Ark of someshit: Horrible, looks like a snes game without the good things (story, music, concept...)
Hack: repeats itself too much...boring.
KH: Mickey, Mermaid, Tarzan...DIEEEEE!

There are many more but it's 11:58pm dammit. I gotta get up 5am.

G`night!

Oh wow, you suck for that.
I wish my FF: CC disc wasn't scratched so bad, I'd be playing that with a friend or two right now.

The game was fun. So shut up. The only problem was that people kept holding it to FF because of the name when it wasn't FF. The plot was there Mid, but it wasn't instant gratification and it has just as much plot  needed as any FF if you actually stick it out. The system was fun, the game was fun, it was just a little rough.

I've only played FF CC with friends once, which sucks, because it was really fun.

I do own the game, and I like it, but it's not a FF. It's an entirely different game with a fancy series nametag.

Worse then all that, if you run YOU LOSE HP! Leaving you at the mercy of the enemies in the area!!!

That's how it works, the plot develops over the years, you can beat it in at least 5 I believe, but it is a rather repetitive game.

Agreed! (I just got Tales of The Abyss, fuckin fantastic!)

Grandy, I LOVE Suikoden Tactics...

Edit : Realized I hadn't named my least favourite game... Prolly would have to be Batman Forever for SNES, it was a classic arcade game that I got fed up with because it was too damn hard!

*kicks kirby* I'm not lucky enough to have friends who like games, my friends suck. And if there was a real storyline, it was too slow for me... I did like the battle system and the grooming mog thing but that was about all.

I just started playing tales of destiny, it's fun.. :D

IdK, never played tales. I spend waaaay too much time replaying Baldur's gate 1+2 over and over again......
But if the story had multiple endings, then yeah, I guess I'll call them RPGs. If not, then they are JRPGs, not all of which are bad. I mean, I personally liked FF1 and 3 above most other games, so they can't all be bad like 4, 5, 6, and 10, right?
