Seriously man, I'm one of the biggest Ed, Edd, and Eddy fans I know of...
Then Cartoon Network made me happy and broke my heart all in one commercial.
They've decided to play every episode of Ed Edd and Eddy back to back, none stop, leading up to a new episode... .
THE LAST EPISODE OF ED, EDD, AND EDDY!!!!!
This show has been around since like 1999!
It takes place over the summer and the newer season takes place in the fall
(some of it)
This is by far one of the longest running series on Cartoon Network
and in my eyes the greatest.
There isn't a single episode I hate.
They've never added a new character or taken away any characters and has never changed the shows style.
I shall miss this show.
RIP

Well, damn.
-
I'm sitting here right now, watching this bitter-sweet event.
-
Dude, that show was my life for a long, long time. Until they went to school, then I think the show sucked.

Well they've been in summer for freaken ever. lol
The school episodes are the weakest of all the episodes but I still love them.
-
Watchin' it, too. This really sucks. Right now is the episode with Jib (Ed's "imaginary" friend)
I love this show! :'(
-
When the new episode comes on, I'm DEFINITELY watching it.
Yet another good cartoon left by the wayside. May it rest in peace...
-
This saddening event reminds me of the near future, when Billy and Mandy will be canceled... That's currently my favorite cartoon, and has been since it first aired.
Cartoon Network's going to Hell for all this awesomeness that they're pwning.

Billy and Mandy has seriously gone downhill. It was so awesome when it came out, but it just wore thin after awhile.
Now Courage the Cowardly Dog, THAT was an awesome show.
-
I wish I had cable still, or could afford it anyways. Maybe if I get this asst. manager job.
-
Well, that's a shortsighted marketing move.
And I loved Courage. That show was so silly.
EDIT: Just found this on the wikipedia:
There is a special event called The Best Day Edder which is currently showing on Cartoon Network and is 32 hours and 30 minutes long. Every episode was shown in order, from the first to the last currently aired episode.
Advertised as the "very last" Ed, Edd n Eddy episode, will actually be the last episode of Season 5 at the end of the marathon. There is a new Ed, Edd n Eddy special showing on May 11, 2007, as well as the yet to be shown Season 6.
So it's not the last episode ever, but instead the end of season 5. The show might go on to a 6th season, maybe!
-
Cartoon Network and even Adult Swim to a lesser extent have been going downhill with their terrible shows. But I heard that they finally pwned InuYasha, so it may not be so bad for AS.
-
Idk what you're all complaining about. Its not over. And I thought the school episodes were the best. Not to mention that Halloween special was THE ****. I dont think any of these shows are going downhill. But I do think CN needs to stop making shitty new shows. **** CLASS OF 3000. Camp Lazlo FTW.

Sinbad is dead.
~But yeah, Courage was awesome. Hell, I'm watching it right now. lol
-
Who else would be watching this but the guy with an episode for a name. :p
-
Well, I'm watching the advertised last episode right now.
It's seriously the best one I've seen before. And it's just the first part.
It's the separating commercial right now. Spiderman. I'll watch that, too.
-
Kinda disappointing last episode.
Still have no idea what's under that stupid hat!
He's probably just bald or something.....like Jonny maybe.....
-
The ending disappoints, but the first half was great.
I guess we'll never know what's under the cap, though...
-
IT'S. NOT. OVER.
Season 6 is coming in the winter. It's suppose to go along with the changing seasons. Just as season 5 was in the fall. Its coming back in the winter along with a TV movie. Hell, they even have some episode names from season 6 released.
-
Notice I never said it was over? I said "advertised last episode", as in the episode that was advertised as the last one.
Oh wait, that's self-explanatory.
As for the hat comment, that's an infinitive. I've been saying that since the third season. We'll never know. Said it in response to Ed.
Besides, it'd be best to leave the mystery and speculation about Edd's hat.
Now shut your speak-hole, Rev.

Got a source?
After 5 pages of google, I've managed to find 2 that "support" your argument.
http://www.cartoon-secrets.com/Ed-Edd-n-Eddy.php
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed,_Edd_n_Eddy
You are suggesting that I trust a tiny little snippet and an article edited by nerds over Cartoon Network and the ****ing WORDS OF THE CREATOR?
The show was canceled. They may still do the alien episode, but that's just throwing a bone.
There. Happy?
-
And what are the sources that disapprove that argument?
-
Yeah man the creator said so... until they say different it's still gone in my eyes.
-
*was never a fan* ... I guess it's a guy thing..
-
Best Episode:
The 'Robot Rebel Ranch' episode. The spooky theme in the background...priceless! ^_^
-
If it's over then THANK GOODNESS.
Sorry, but I hate that show. The characters are simple-minded, the animation is horrible, there is no plot (I just love plots), all episodes are around the shenanigans (love that word as much as plots) of three stupid guys, but no haha stupid, just... stupid. The jokes are predicable ("Oh, he sit in a tree and is sawing of the branch he's on, look! He fell! Who'd see that coming?!") all jokes that are not predicable most likely involved one of the Eds (never bothered to really learn which one is which in english, I mean the tall, dumber, one.) do something disgusting like eating something that's coming off a wall or stupid as putting his head in that hole that you just know would get him stuck. O wait- That's predicable alright.
I must say I only smiled ONCE watching the goddamn show, and even so only because I forced myself to do such.
Good riddance, Edwards.
-
You can lick my balls.
-
Gladly.
I only lick, so there's no problem. But the show sucks.
-
What's that? I couldn't hear you over the flagrant insults that I'm hurling your way.

Ed?
LOL
No, really, that episode is awesome as well.

It's a American cartoon....
Not a anime...
Hardly any American cartoon has a plot...
and the ones that do for the most part are just Americans pathetic attempt at an anime.

They..... went.... to.... school? Er..... that defeats the point, I think.
But no, it's one of those things that should have died sooner. Like Cartoon Network, or at least the Adult Swim Part. After all, anything that harbors such bad, bad anime should be banished from the world forever. *kicks random Inu Yasha character in the face, then heads off for Naruto, One Piece, new Pokemon...... ah, the list goes on.... but OP is on Fox...? yes?)
Anywho. There are only so many jawbreakers one group of kids can consume. As for plot.... well, I guess it's like a good brainless cartoon..... totally brainless.
-
Wow, um, your whole post sucks.

I've been a fan of Ed, Edd, and Eddy for quite some time, however I found it somewhat odd and out of place when they began having the episodes where they were at school. Just seemed to me that they were running out of ideas (which is understandable).
I was also bothered by the fact that they were the only students in the whole school, but then again it wasn't really intended to be a serious show I guess. *shrug*
Not the best show, but I've most certainly enjoyed watching it occasionally over the years.
-
how can anyone watch this filth!?

Easy. It's not filth.
Duh.

I think they ran out of ideas long before the school part.
Tell me one joke that wasn't re-used. (Not the joke itself, but the concept of the joke.)

Man you people look at this show like it's a anime or something mainly Grandy.
Also Adult and Cartoon Network as put out some bad animes and than again they have put out some good ones.
Cowboy Bebop
Tenchi Muyo
Yu Yu Hakusho (Best thing to come out of Adult Swim.)
G-Gundamn
The 8th MS Team (Second best thing.)
Blue Submarine 6
DBZ (Damn right imma DBZ fan and I will defend it's honor.)
Dragonball (How can you not like Dragonball? It ****ing owned)
-
I agree 100% with that last comment!

You point being that I can't compare cartoons and anime, things that are essencially alike apart drawing style, because you said so?
Then I give you Family Guy. It's a cartoon, not well draw, not realistic, with no plot whatsoever, based on steryotipes (pretty much like E, E & E) but which is 10 times better than Ed, Edd and Eddy, because the jokes, (most of which aren't even original) are well done and not predictable.

The dragonball manga was brilliant but I hear it lost a lot when it was transferred to tv.

You can't really compare the two. Cartoon Network as to stay a PG rating, unless it's Adult Swim or an imported cartoon. Half the jokes on Family Guy use sex, fights, racial slurs, etc. The best you could do is compare it to Spongebob or something.

I'm not comparing the rules of each channel, I'm comparing the shows.
I bet if I said "What about Dexter's lab" someone would then say "But Dexter's lab is about a boy with a laboratory, not three boys who want money."
C'mon now, stop inventing excuses, soon enough you guys would want me to compare Ed Edd and Eddy with Ed Edd and Eddy, and then use it as an argument.
When I say good shows, I mean good shows, not good PG shows.

But are not predictable.
Are you even reading my posts?

Grandy, I feel you don't get it. The show was (and for a lot of us, still is) a breath of fresh air from the tired cartoon stylings of zany, Looney-Toons episodes or the over-the-top action hero cartoon. Ed, Edd, and Eddy is a show about a cul-de-sac and the children existing in it going about their own, albeit very exaggerated lives. It's fun to see things in an everyday perspective where the situation is both believable and unbelievable at the same time. The jokes may be, to you, predictable, but I'm pretty sure it's not about the jokes, but rather the series of events that give entertainment in this scenario.
Family Guy is far from original (if you've seen as many cartoons and comedies as I have, you'd know that almost all their jokes are "borrowed" from other successful forms of the visual entertainment region), and it's seriously lost its touch years ago, and by now, the jokes are neither funny nor unpredictable. It has no real story, and without that to fall back on, Family Guy's quickly becoming quite boring.
I go quickly back to Ed, Edd, and Eddy to reestablish that the show isn't about jokes, but again, about the follies and failed attempts of a group of outcast children trying to force a niche in with the common children. It communicates with everyone because we all know what it's like to not fit in just right. If you fit in perfectly, well then good for you, that would explain why you dislike it. You're the uncommon person, and as such, have a far less voicable opinion in the end. But if you are the social misfit that, interestingly, most people seem to fit in as, and you still dislike the show, then you're just plain weird.
-
1. I was just really pissy yesterday, sorry if I offended anyone on the bad anime rant.
2. No, don't judge intentionally brainless cartoons on "anime standards"... whatever the heck that means. There are American cartoons with great attempts at least at story, and anime that are just mindless dreck.
3. Why is Grandy being attacked.....? So this is a show for "outcasts" and Grandy is being attacked for being..... wait..... different? Huh. *throws hands in air, walks away*
-
Sorry, I never acted as neither Ed, and never related me to one of them. Maybe, as you say, I'm just the weird one, which would explain a lot. However, I don't think so.
Basically, I see the show as "Three kids try to get money to buy candy". You try and make it sound like they want to fit in and put a lot of filosofy, but truth is, neither Ed ever tried to lift a finger for anyone if there wasn't money involved, in fact, in the few occasions I saw the cartoon, it seemed that everyone around were always trying to give 'em another face, but they would just use the situation to try and get more. Poor little selfish kids.
Now, while trying to fool people and get their money through scams might be - I don't know - a new concept over there, we in Brasil had Ze Carioca for years, and he does the very same thing, only better and funnier, and even so I hate him.
Now, about the jokes. You say it's not about the jokes, it's the scenario, that'd be a good argument, however, I can't ignore the fact that the show tries -and fails- to deliver many obvious jokes, with no purpose other than being funny (or trying to). I mean, Ed (the tall one) gets his head stuck in a mail box. The others pull him out.
...
...
...
Great scenario, eh? I can't believe how entertainign to me was to see a guy with his head stuck in a mailbox.
No, that was a bad attempt at being funny, which failed.
Another thing: All Eds run in a weird way, that doesn't change the scenario, then why make it so, if the jokes have nothing to do with it?
Plus, there are still the other things you didn't counter. It bothers me that their outlines seem to be moving all the time, or the exagerated expression they use, mostly the tall Ed, just for the sake of using.
-
I can tell that you don't watch the show. You've said so yourself, but it's very obvious by your arguments. If you're so insistent of stinking up a thread where such a negative criticism is neither respected nor necessary, then at the very least, know what you're talking about.
-
Now, yes, that's right, I don't watch the show, so I guess I have no right to discuss about it. *shrugs*
But I still stand firm on my opinions. I've tried, after the beggining of this discussion, to watch a little of it, and while it's not much, I can still say I don't think it's anything to be proud watching.
You say about "Stinking this thread with criticism" but, alas, I pointed my opinion on page 2, and that would be it, however, someone kindly told me to "Lick your balls". Great comeback, but, yes, it did anger me. I tried to prove my point them, but all I got, from you, were comebacks in the lines of, and I quote:
What's that? I couldn't hear you over the flagrant insults that I'm hurling your way.
Wow, um, your whole post sucks.
I see no arguments, no point, nothing at all. In fact, while I was trying to find the right words to express what I though, you were pretty much just repeating "My opinion is not the same as yours and I shall insult you for this."
You then tried to argument, which I liked, finnally some advance! Then I argumented back, because I love discussing things. Then you pretty much said that, since I don't watch the show, I can't discuss about it.
You talk about my opinion not being respected, but other than you, I haven't seen anyone complaining, or at least not in an unrespectful way.
Really, you've been rather intolerant from the beggining, and accept that it was you that brought upon this discussion, not me. I've tried from the beggining to stay respectful, never insulted you, even though you insulted me.

No you can't compare anime to a American Cartoon they are just way too different.
Woah.... woah... stop the Bus...
You brought one the most unoriginal, highly predictable, Family Guy into this..
Where to start...
I use ot be a Family Guy fan until that episode of South Park that just burned Family Guy something whicked.
I'll tell you what predictable about family guy...
showing a real video from the 70's about some guy that no one has ever heard of...
drawing out a joke that died before it even begun...
jumping out of no where with a musical....
I just can't laugh at family guy it's the same **** each season their only step now is to show tons of porn.
If I want good random I'll just watch the Simpsons.
I can't believe you said family guys jokes are well done..
Ed, Edd, Eddy isn't even suppose to be a comedy...
there are things in it that are predictable but it's nice to see how they will unfold like how the hell will Ed screw everything up.
and like said.. Family Guy is PG, Ed, Edd, and Eddy isn't and you said it's based on a stereotype?
I don't know how it is where you live but I hardly know any 3 white kids around the age of 13 that builds huge machines and plays idiots like suckers just to get some Jaw Breakers when they could just ask their mother for a quarter instead....
and you keep talking about there predictable jokes, I'd like to see you list 6 of them.
Also you say how they are drawn you have got the be the biggest idiot in the world if you can't realize it's purposely drawn like that..
look how long the show has been around you don't think they can afford to have their show drawn better?
There's tons of shows that are drawn carppy as hell but I love..
Lupin the 3rd.. (My anime god)
Shin Chan (The Adult Swim one)
The Simpsons (TV legend right here)
anything else you'd like to throw at me because it's obvious to me that you at most ave seen like 3 episodes from the way you speak of it and I don't mean in the manner of not liking it but in the manner on how you down it.

I certainly don't blame you for defending your position on the show Grandy. I personally have no interest in argueing over it myself though, since it wasn't really an absolute favourite of mine, just something I'd watch if there was nothing else on or if I wanted some background noise. I did enjoy the show to an extent, yet I did often find myself tired of the reruns.

The first season of Home Movies would be a good example; squigglevision. Though the style was intentional, I'm kinda glad they switched over to flash for the last three seasons.

The fact that you (Smo) hold Simpsons in such high regard in its 19th season makes you more awesome than most people.
I'm sick of hearing people say "New Simpsons suck".
It may have changed, but it's still incredibly awesome.
Like that Kill Gill (vols 1 and 2) episode. I lol'd so much at that.

It's called 'random'. People over the internet seem to enjoy it.
I just can't laugh at family guy it's the same **** each season their only step now is to show tons of porn.
Same as me with Ed, Edd and Eddy. (Apart from the porn, that is) Everything seem to go nowhere new in the show, at least to me.
If I want good random I'll just watch the Simpsons.
Feel free to. It's also a great show.
I can't believe you said family guys jokes are well done..
*shrugs* okay then. I like it.
Ed, Edd, Eddy isn't even suppose to be a comedy...

Dunno, I feel no joy on watching something I know how will end.

Steryotipes are not aways racial, nor offensive. In Ed, Edd and Eddy you have:
-Tall guy who is dumb.
-Skinny guy who is smart.
-Short guy who bosses other around.
-The very steryotipe of 'The cool kid', Kevin.
-Sister who bosses older brother around.
-Rolf. You tell me he isn't a steryotipe.
and you keep talking about there predictable jokes, I'd like to see you list 6 of them.
-Ed sits on a branch he is supposed to saw. 1
-Ed seems to be trying to get something from a hole in which his hand could get stuck. 2
...
Well, yeah, now that I think about it, it's not that frequent. I guess most of the prdicable jokes involve Ed, rather than Edd or Eddy, because he tends to act so... stupdly. You just know that he'll get his head stuck or something.
I admit I was wrong about this, though I still dislike the show very much.
Also you say how they are drawn you have got the be the biggest idiot in the world if you can't realize it's purposely drawn like that..
look how long the show has been around you don't think they can afford to have their show drawn better?
Only because it's supposed to be drawn like that it doesn't means it's not crappy. I didn't say it wasn't on purpose.
There's tons of shows that are drawn carppy as hell but I love..
Lupin the 3rd.. (My anime god)
Shin Chan (The Adult Swim one)
The Simpsons (TV legend right here)
The Simpsons is so good at the humour it compensates the art.
Lupin the 3rd was never show in Brasil, and Shin Chan... well, never the adult swin version.
anything else you'd like to throw at me because it's obvious to me that you at most ave seen like 3 episodes from the way you speak of it and I don't mean in the manner of not liking it but in the manner on how you down it.
10 episodes, more or less.
And no, I have nothing to 'throw' at you, why, should I?

Ah yes, Home Movies there's a show badly drawn and always has a funny plot. That Guy, Brandon Small use to live in the city I do.
Anyone who talks down the Simpsons isn't American..or whatever country they're from.. anyone who says Family Guy is better than the Simpsons isn't human in my book (The only book that's important) is a female dog to the 9th power!
I'm sorry, family guy has funny episodes but overall the show is written so horribly it's plots are mediocre and most of all it likes to rip off a certain Show.

OMG this thread should've died long ago. O.O
Basically,
Ed, Edd, n Eddy > Everything else > Family guy.
Family guy sucks. It was never funny. The only reason it stays alive is that idiots think it is funny when it was never funny and never entertaining at ANY point. How is some pervert saying "giggity giggity goo" funny? I'll tell you, it's when complete retards watch it only to have something to talk about. Well I'll tell you something. Count how many "like the time i....'s" and any other bad PREDICTABLE "jokes" there are and try to tell me that it is funny in any way. Other than that, it refers too much to stars and celebrities, in which only two or three in that show i've actually heard of.
As for ranting about celebrities and their greedy assfaces, I'll save that for Whoever Posts Last. :D

That's what happens when you get a bunch of nerds together.
I feel ya on the Family Guy thing.
Each time I have watched the show I've had to google more than
half the damn people they speak of on the show and when I do...
first thing I say is.
"who the **** is that?"

Oh, thanks a lot.
See? This is what I'm talking about. I never called anyone in this thread a retard or an idiot, even though I had urges.
Also, we need to define 'predictable'. How, I ask, how can you people predict something about cerlebrities you never heard about? Or how can you predict a joke that does not follow a thought?

Call it a hunch. -.-'
Once that's said, the "bad celebrity joke" radar goes off. That's the sixth sense people with "common" sense have.
-
...
Nay, they almost never say "Like that time I met *insert person names here*", but something around the lines of "Like that time I went on a plane trip" and a famous person just happens to be next to them.
They do make lots of celebrities jokes, but a greater number is not.

I on the other hand find amusement in Ed, Edd and Eddy, Family Guy and Simpsons.
Wow, what?
-
Yep a hunch and we all know that they will tell a bad celebrity at least once in each episode. It's their "thing" like beating dead a horse...
Note I never delivered any insults as well..

OMG, me, too. That's why my opinion is so valid in this conversation.
