Hey. This is a teaser trailer for my rpg being made with rpg maker 2003. Its in beta right now.
It will be 100% completely custom made with the exception of some sound effects.
Also, the game will have cutscene battles...like you know, a cutscene where you watch them fight instead of fight yourself.
Its hard with rpg maker because you have to make each movement they do (i.e. swinging a sword), but I'm working on it!
If you see the end of the trailer, that's a beta stage of one of the cutscene battles.
I'll be honest i know this video sucks, but the game is still in beta.
Before you watch it, you should know a few things.
1. I know the animations are choppy, and things look and sound sucky, but its a beta trailer...so i'm currently fixing it.
2. Although this game is completely custom made, I know some things in the trailer are the defaults. I had to do this because some of my custom work isn't done yet.
Please comment it on here, and on the video too if you want...
Now, for the trailer:

Hope you like it. Remember its in beta.
*********EDIT**************8
Wow...i bolded AND underlined the word "beta" 3 times.
You people obviously don't know what "beta" means, do you?

You should have put this in Games. Not RM Programming.
...I'll look at it later.
EDIT: That looks like RTP chipsets. You should get something other than RTP. Dialog looked a bit "iffy". Not too interesting... the scene with the two army looking places... ehh... its ok...

Oh, sorry. I will. And its not long, its only 35 secs long...lol.

Is this your first game?
If so, don't try and make it all custom, and don't try anything flashy. I'm all for trying out new stuff, and no doubt you'll get better at it as you go, but right now that 'cutscene battle' looks pretty awful, and I have a feeling you'll be putting all of your time into perfecting that and not actually making the game.
That said, good luck.

Moved to Games.

Um...no its not rtp chipsets. None of them are. Its hard to tell on youtube but if you watch it in .WMV format you'll be able to tell better.

You seem to be screaming BETA, but this doesn't look like a Beta version. We don't know what it means? You obviously don't.
A Beta version is a program released to the public, open for voluntary user acceptance testing. It is not a program that is currently in progress. For games, a Beta version is when you are 'done' your game, after releasing demos and such. It is when you allow others to play it, and fix any glitches or mistakes they find.
You may mean that your program is in the Alpha stage, which means that it is being tested by the creators of it, but that too requires a certain level of completion.
To me, it looks like your game is IN PROGRESS. That's all, you don't need a special name for it.
Anywho, the trailer wasn't much to look at. I commend you for aiming for completely custom graphics, that is no easy task. Yes, since the game is only in its beginning stages, I cannot form an opinion on much yet. Well, the text I saw was awkward. For one, an ellipsis is composed of only three (3) periods. Such as this:
...
Good luck on your project. It's nice to see someone make some high goals, but it would be nicer to see them achieve them!

The above is correct.
Your custom graphics are pretty good, especially the charasets. However, the trees are pretty poor.
Everything else isn't looking to great. I'm sure that you are just starting this, but you should've waited untill you had a little more to show.

Yeah...sooner or later i'm gonna re-make the trees. And also I could've waited till I had more done but I was too excited.

You were excited about that crap show?
That doesn't make me feel very confident about your future work. *spamlas*
-
Well, right now there's not really much to watch and comment, but I'll say this:
I'm guessing you were eexcited to show it because you compromised yourself to achieve a goal, and you're trying hard to do it now, and the fact you manage to put up a teaser trailer is something you're proud of, because it's already a result of all the work you've had so far.
Basically, you're proud that you've actually done something, you're not exactly proud of how the trailer ended up.
Why do I assume this? Because the trailer is very short, there's not much to watch that makes you interested about the game, and you're acting somewhat defensive about the comments so far. This also leads me to assume this is your first game, or at least the first you're thinking about showing to the public.
My advice to you is: stop. Don't take this as an insult, but as an advice.
As of right now, I'm not very confident on your abilities to pull this off, or if you complete this game I don't think the end result will be very nice, and you will have wasted a lot of time and effort.
For your first game, start with something simpler. Mess around with rpgmaker before you set your goals too high and try out anything too complex.
Maybe one day you'll thank me, maybe you'll just ignore me or maybe I'm completely wrong. Just be sure I'm doing this not to insult you or your game, but to try and help you. I've been in your situation a few times, it wasn't pleasant but I've learned from it.
