From BBC News:

A professional wrestler has been found dead at his family home in the US along with his wife and son in what officials say appears to be a murder-suicide.
Chris Benoit, nicknamed the "Canadian Crippler", was one of the leading stars of international wrestling.
Investigators said Benoit appeared to have taken his own life after killing his wife, Nancy, and the couple's seven-year-old son.
The family lived in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.
Benoit failed to attend two live wrestling events at the weekend, telling World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) that this was due to an "undisclosed family emergency".
He later sent several puzzling text messages to friends which prompted them to contact WWE, who asked authorities to check on his home.
'Rabid Wolverine'
"We are investigating it as a murder-suicide," said Keith Whiteside of the Fayette County Sheriff's department.
The bodies were found in three separate rooms of the house. Benoit's body was found in the weights room, the body of his wife in an office and the son's body in an upstairs bedroom.
The county's district attorney, Scott Ballard, declined to give further details about how the three died.
However, authorities later said that Benoit appeared to have smothered his son and strangled his wife before hanging himself with the pulley of a weightlifting machine, according to the Associated Press.
The news agency also said that anabolic steroids had been found in the house.
Born in Montreal, Benoit was a former heavyweight champion who had several professional nicknames including "The Rabid Wolverine".
Damn it. Not a huge wrestling fan, but I still saw this guy wrestle and stuff.
Really I can expect accidents and even drunk driving, and this guy as far as I now didnt seem to be crazy. Then again I don't read into wrestlers lol.
Saly I am two days late

This was pretty surprising to me... I used to watch him back when he was with WCW. Crazy shit.
-
My brother's into wrestling.
It's awful. They ran a whole special, and all the WWE people were going on about how he loved his family, his family was everything. It was very tasteful.... except that the WWE knew the possible details and was simply not allowed to share them.
-
I never watch wrestling and I know nothing about him, but this is still pretty crazy. @_@
-
this dude is from my home town....Edmonton
Its all over the local news here...
Steriods are one helluva drug
-
Hahaha, wrestling.
-
Haha, faked stuff.
-
damn man... I grew up watching him. Thats creepy to here this. I'm surprised that my brother or something didn't find out about this and tell me.
-
I've heard a bit about this. Damn, that's strange, but I can't say I'm OVERLY surprised.
-
See, there's a reason I pronounced his last name "Ben-oyt", but search me, I haven't got a clue as to why anymore... I'm asympathetic to this guy's case for one reason: No-one's special enough to make their case of anything different from any other person's. I treat this guy's murder-suicide like I'd treat the one of some unknown family in Minnesota: I don't really care. Sure I know who this guy was, but the guy's not special enough to garner a real reaction from me. No single person is. Now if it was a 500 person murder-suicide case, that'd be different.
I'm not a bad person, I'm just more reasonable than most other people.

...Thoroughly agreed.
A celebrity's death shouldn't merit more press than anyone else's.
-
I agree.
But the reason as to why the media does this, is that people around the world will care more to know about a celebrity's death than just some random teenage suicide. WHich happens daily.
In comparison, celebrities don't die (little less commit suicide after killing their family) more often than the rest of the world. THis is obvious because they're celebs.
It's a whicked way of seeing things, but that's how it is sadly.

I don't know if I believe it yet.
I mean, I believe he's dead, but who knows what REALLY happened...
-
they know what happened.
He smothered his son.
And he strung his wife by the neck with the cable on his Home Gym.
Steroids or not, I have no compassion for somebody who kills his own child and wife.

agreed there. It shocked me what happened, but if he was really fucked up he shouldn't killed himself and not them.

Yes, another reason for me not to hold real sympathy. A death is a sad thing, but I won't mull over it any longer than necessary if he's no person I hold dear.

Even tho I barely watch wrestlin now a days.. he was still one of my favorites.. *just looking at him makes you wonder if he's sane or now... but it might be the black teeth XD* And it's kinda sad that he went out like that.. And for all we know.. he prolly just snapped before he killed off his family << might've been drinking too which don't go well with drugs... <<>>... Meh.. still have hulk hogan tho.. <<
