are your plans/dreams/goals for your future life? Me, I dunno what I want yet. But what do you want and why?
-
I wanna move to Italy and become a gigolo as my day job whilst being a cat therapist in my free time. I wanna be on about 300K a year hopefully, I would love to own my own torchur chamber like in Hostel where I could drag little kids to. I also find maths very interesting, so I may become an English teacher. I rally can't decide, lovely.
I sure hate vikings though. :guns: :viking:
Bins are nice. (B)

Obviously, I'd like to be a programmer.
I was probably around 8 or so when we first got ZZT, an old DOS game system made by Epic. It had a few games that came with it, but the real cool part was that it had its own game creation system and allowed you to create your own games or play games created by others. It had a simply language to program objects called ZZT-OOP. I was addicted to making new games, especially making systems with the programming language.
I was 12 when I first learned HTML and Javascript. At some point I learned a little PHP, but not more than it's syntax. I got into RPG Toolkit for awhile and coded in RPGCode on that. Later, for a year or so, I hung around byond.com and used the DM coding language to make a few games on there.
When I was a Freshman in highschool I skipped the basic computer class and went straight to Programming 1 - our teacher used VB6 and taught us that, and I started using VB6 and continued to use it on and off until the beginning of this year (Mainly because VB6 doesn't play nice with Vista). And for Charas 3.0 I brushed up on my PHP and learned as I went. :P
I like programming in general, not just games. I tried using game makers and such to make full on games but it's just not as fun to me. Graphics, story, maps, dialog, etc. is boring stuff. coding the system for the game itself and having someone else create the content for the system is what I enjoy. It's also why I'm okay with normal programming too - it's more about solving problems or creating a tool to help someone.
Hence why in less than a week I leave to go to college and major in Computer Science. :P
-
Anything really, you have to sieze the moment or something like that. Start of with something to earn money and get some good references and then move on to soemthing better... Yeah pretty boring future I expect...
Will start my first year with science in school with computer and tool programing in two weeks so we'll see how that goes.
I guess that I will just end up like my brother and play WoW all day long while waiting for a well-payed job to fall into my lap from the great gods.
But I donno, maybe I can become a writer or something, I am a creator and I just create really... And I love what I create and put all of my efforts into it. I lack any kind of talents though but I do my best and achieve the same class as the ones with natural-born skills.
-
I plan on becoming the world's greatest guitarist.
-
I want to be in the most successful band on the planet. The band people come from miles to see :P
But, if my music career falls through, I want to do music engineering and producing, or live sound.
-
I want to be a black man with a spotless criminal record. :p
Honestly, I want to become an accomplished musician. I'm learning to play piano. I have a nice voice. I can sing either soulfully or boybandish. I might be getting a guitar soon. As far as hip-hop goes, I'm decent on the turn tables and I can rap to a certain extent. I can write some pretty nice rhymes, and I have a decent freestyle without a corny delivery. I don't really want to be a musician for money. I like creation and art, so being able to compose is something I really want to do.
I still want to be an architect. It's a long shot. I may end up being a writer of some sort. That's pretty much what my senior year is focused on unfortunately.

Thats quite an accomplishment. Good luck.
Something in animation most definately, maybe graphic design.
-
I want to be an art photographer and novelist. I want to move to London, marry a man with an incredible accent, and point and laugh at people who have children.
Zuhane, you find math interesting, so you want to teach English? What?
-
I want to Major in Music Ed.
I've always loved band, but once I got to high school, it's been the only thing I've truly enjoyed about it! Music is my passion! Once I was a freshman, I decided on something in music.
I can't compose, so that's currently knocked out.
I don't want to go professional saxophonist.
I want to direct! I wanna' be the man behind it all!
I'm a pretty good conductor for my age, and I understand rythem and theory very well. To be able to pass it on to high school kids so that they can go out and do something great with their lives would just be so awesome.
-
Never been into singing that much, but I wanted to go for being a vocalist in a death metal band for a long time now. Maybe some time I will get my shot.
Im studying to become an electrical engineer so i´ll have a job in about a year and a half at least.
-
I want to die without ever having children.
And Id like to not have to work, whilst living comforatably.
Id like to have nice stuff and not break my back to get it.
I want people to think im so brilliant that just dont feel worthy engaging me in a conversation...
-
i DON'T PLAN TO DO ANYTHING GREAT oh **** caps, where was I? Oh yeah, I don't plan on doing anything great. Most likely something to do with animation or publicity, as that's my forte.
-
i plan on making a sandwich.
after that, i have no clue whatsoever.
i will be in the entertainment biz.
if not, i will learn to flip a burger without getting grease on myself, and how a fry fryer works and why it's name is so redundant

Is Mid fishing for ideas since she doesn't have any of her own?
I imagine I'll end up as a technical writer at some point. But I never trust the future enough to try to make predictions like that.

Uhh...sorry, you fail as I'm already halfway to that XD
Try some eletronic music though, as far as the 21st century has gone, everyone in that area sucks. Cause eletronic music sucks.
Also, try rap. If you succeed, you'll be the first person to turn noise into music! Plus you get to get with the round assed girls. Woo hoo!
-
I'd like to have a band one day. Also like to study medicine and become a doctor, but hey. Don't see either happening. I'm too poor and not willing to waste half my life on studying and also can't find musicians for a band.
Thinking about studying either English or Japanese and do something with that... but hey... I don't really now... =(
Used to have dreams, a while ago. Seems like lost fantasies now.

I plan on moving to a town in Canada called Osoyoos, and setting up a luthiery shop, where I'll make custom guitars, violins, bouzoukis, harps, and even clarinets and fujaras, even though thats not considered luthiery.
-
osoyoos eh?
Its nice there.Ive only ever passed through...And once went camping and fishing in the area...Bc is good stuffI recently got a place in Nelson BC...Was trying to do that for a few years. Next year i hope to have enough saved from the horrible grunt construction work to open a new tattoo shop there and sell some rock-shop retail stuff too...shirts, buttons patches and stuff. hopefully next year...

Lol, good luck. Trust me, that stuff screws your vocal chords. Unless you can already sing well, I wouldn't recommend being serious about death metal vocals. xD
I have two main aims really. For one, I'd like to be in a metal band that goes somewhere. At the moment, our "band" consists of me, another guitarist, and a bassist who is neither in or out of the band because he's currently being a jerk and insisting we write songs about orcs. -_-'
I'd also like to be a successful author, if that goes anywhere. I have no other job prospects I want to go for.
-
My main goal is to be a Special Agent for NCIS. For those that don't know, NCIS is a government agency that is like the FBI, but works with the Navy and the Marine Corps. It also involves itself with anti-terrorism and the like. I never knew it existed until I watched the TV show, but after watching it, it was something I wanted to do. I'd like to try and make a difference in people's lives, help people, and well... strap on a gun and go out and arrest assholes.
If that doesn't fall through, I plan on doing some research and development for electrical equipment and stuff.

Multimedia Designer.
'nuff said.

Then you two will have to cast on Austin Powers 5. Of course, after that I will kill YOU and my path will be clear! Bwa ha ha ha.

But you have to give in that he was right.
As for everyone planning to become the best guitarrist in the world, an idea:
Put your diferences aside, and make the first (succesful) all-guitar band in the world. I'd be your manager, and you guys could call yourselves The Charas or something stupid like that. People love those stupid names with background to them.

Writer/Composer, and, if possible, an actor

I've made a list of things that I want to do before I die.
And it keeps growing:
In No Order:
=Finish 'The Green Sleeves' Game :P
=Join the army and become a Meteorological Technician,
=Direct at least one Movie
=Write a novel
=Teach English In Japan
=Get involved in Organized Crime
=Abstain from sex completely (Ongoing)
=Visit Abu Dhabi

My recent plan consists of going to a trade school, learning a trade, beat my body to **** over the years and put all my money into bills and music. Hopefully, I'll die young. I want to at least become locally famous, and maybe when I die some big wig record producer will come along and like the sound of my music, find out I'm dead, and THEN I'll be famous.
That's realistically speaking, if I were to stretch it a bit I'd say I'm going to say, "**** college and school" and I'm going to just play music and become a legendary guitarist/song writer with my band. And I'm gonna tour the world, thrilling audiences every where, and when I get older, I'll have a reality TV show about my life and I'll have a music festival that tours the world named after me and T-shirts, and worshippers, my own ****ing church, and... and...
Actually, I wouldn't want half of that.
I'll just stick with trying to become locally famous, and if it goes anywhere after that, then so be it.
Oh yeah, and I really want to beat this list of games...
BoFII
Chrono Trigger
FF6
Demon's Crest
Secret of Mana (I got so far in this game, then just stopped)
I know, I suck, I join an RPG forum and I haven't even beaten half of the greatest RPGs ever.
Whoa, text block. :p

Only differences for me is that:
A) I want to compose some music for my Marching Band.
B) I might try to play Clarinet/Oboe professionally.
C) I also want to help out with the drama clubs and such. :)
But, Basically everything else you said is the same for me.

Maybe, But plausible

A very hard question for me...
I've been thinking about that for a long time. I've always wanted to program games, more specifically design and create monsters and enemies for games :P
Then again, I've always had this fascination for bugs, and plants too.
So it's a complete mystery to me.
I've also noticed I have pretty impressive rythm, music-wise.
Lots of choices are open for me :)

That's a given for all guys.
Unlike everyone else, I have no prospects in art or programming. I plan on going into chemical and physics engineering for a job, but still probably doing various programmings as a hobby, just because its fun. Oh, and to get married, have kids, etc.

Now. Let's ride off into the sunset. But first, I need a cape.
Oh yeah, add that to the list. I need to wear a cape more often in totally inappropriate places, and learn to fence.

A friend told me it would be easier to get into an orchestra as an oboeist, because of the lack of them. But then again clarinets easier to keep in tune. But if you play both extremely well, i guess they might complement each other and you'ld be doubly good anyway/

Clarinet is much easier than Oboe. But I like the Oboe because its a challenge.

I plan on writing for an editorial, maybe EGM or Play magazine or Newtype. If not, National Geographic!
I also want to be a good husband and a loving father, so I can stick it to my Dad, and be a good role model for my kids.
