Title: Extream newb question

I just heard about charas. Im not sure if this is what Im looking for. heres my situation.

Im going to be working once again with Game Maker. I can animate and make whatever forground and back ground stuff. But characters are my downfall.

So wht Im looking for, if they even exist, are blank templates. like walking, running, shooting, etc etc. Where I would do all the detailing, like the face, clothtes, etc etc. Kind of an outline of charaters?

In the Gamemakers forum, charas was recomended.

Any help, and info on what charas is all about, is appreciated.

what sort of size sprites are we talking here?

Pretty big for the main character.  64  by 96

Ill be working first on a platformer jump & shoot/fight style
