Title: How can I make a Wariowaresquey Godofwarey minigame?

I'd like to add certain parts in my game where numbers and arrow commands flash up and you have to press them really quickly to do something.

I understand key input processing, variables and switches and stuff but I don't really get how to do it so if you run out of time it stops. Please help me!!!
