Title: Dragon Wars
Post by: Rowan on August 31, 2007, 11:11:58 AM
http://www.dragon-wars.com/

As history has shown us, movies incorporating dragons has not always been, well... good. Remember Reign of Fire...?  Yeah... >.> The only exception to which is Dragonheart which got mostly positive reviews.

Personally I'm psyched about it since I love dragons. However, I'm not going to get my hopes up. The filmmakers obviously didn't put any thought process on the title since it's very bland and doesn't push interest. I won't judge a book by its cover though until I see it personally.

Discuss.

I thought it was okay. I probably won't go see it though.

To be honest... I liked Reign of Fire.

Agreed.

This doesn't look bad, though.

Anyone seen the second dragonheart? It stars Francis from Malcolm in the Middle (I don't know his real name) and it has Draco's son Drake as the dragon. It's actually not too bad, but obviously not as good as the first.

Yeah, I have seen the sequel. "I'm a monk and I find a dragon egg that hatches into an ugly, overly cute, poorly made 3D dragon, and I must fight the evil baddie who turns into a demon dragon with the monks asian love interest."

Twas teh suck.

I never watched any of the other movies listed in this thread, except this one, I'm afraid. I do have to agree, though, that that movie was terrible.

To be honest, I think Eragon could have been amazing... if they had called it "Bill the Dragon Rider" and not related it to the book.

My lord, I wish Hollywood would lay off the fantasy setting for a few years at least. Most the movies that have come out lately (After Lord of the Rings.) have sucked horribly, due to cheesiness and cliche. *Cough* Eragon */Cough* *Cough* Narnia */Cough* Hollywood is on two fasinations right now, 80's cartoons and fantasy novels, and they are doing both horridly for the most part.

Narnia was decent enough, at least if you like the story. But this dragon movie looks pretty bad. I think I've seen the "two big powerful forces fight and a lot of large buildings and stuff gets blown up in the process" theme about a hundred times before.

I liked Dragonheart. Wasn't the best executed film ever, but it had all the makings of a great movie. I bet a remake could be good.

Indeed. I haven't been to the site, but I've seen the poster and the tagline was "Our world. Their war" or the likes. I mean JEEZ.

This movie doesn't look good at all. I'm not the least bit interested. The storyline will blow, guaranteed.

Well Im a big dragon fan myself, so all my opinions on dragon movies are a little bias. Anywayz, I've seen a few comercials of  this movie, and frankly, I think its gonna suck, but I'm still gonna see it cuz i bet it does have a few kick *** scenes of dragon fights and what not.

Dragonheart was a good movie, but the graphics could have been a bit better (not at the time though). The story was good enough, acting was pretty good, but if you don't like dragons, your not gonna like the movie. The second one was meh, in my opinion, nothing special, but not too bad.

Reign of fire was just stupid. The story that is. They kill ONE dragon and the whole species dies? WTF? If they made it where they first started coming out, and the military fights them, or something a little more sensable, it would have been better in my opinion. Which reminds me, i still gotta rent and burn that movie...
