Title: Dream Musical Effort
Post by: aboutasoandthis on September 05, 2007, 12:35:19 AM
What would it be? Would you make your own album? Would you throw a concert? Hell...would you write a musical?

If Album
-What genre would it be?
-Would it feature you, or would your rather produce your favorite band?
-Who would guest star on the album?
-Would it be a Soundtrack to a Movie or Game?

If Concert
-What kind of a concert would you throw?
-Who would play in it?
-What stage effects would it have?

If Musical
-What would the story be?
-What kind of music would it use?
-Would you direct? If not, who would be the director?

My dream musical act would be a Michael Jackson comeback album. I  loved everything from the Jackson 5 to Thriller, and some of Bad. I really wish this guy would make a good album.

I would get Justice and DJ Premier to produce it. Justice proved that they can make a modern day Disco album, especially with their excellent D.A.N.C.E. DJ Premier is just a wonderful producer. Period. He has proven for years that he can make a hot track out of the Michael Jackson style. Listen to Nas's "It Ain't Hard To Tell" off of his Illmatic album. It samples Human Nature, but still sounds beautiful yet original.

The song content would be similar to Off the Wall, dirty and honest black man. He talks about working, sex, and life in general. I want to  hear a sequel to Billie Jean talking about child support payments. I want him to be honest about everything in his life from plastic surgery/children/his view on other people's children/etc. He's an excellent lyricist. I'm tired of this Space Alien/Save the World/Nightclub Gangster crap.

I would also like to hear him sing in a low registry. He usually sings and speaks in this "elf voice." He won't admit it, but he can murder every black preacher and soul singer with his low voice.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem like it will happen. He now has a large case of stage fright because he thinks that people think he's a child molester. His new album is also being produced by will.i.am and  R.Kelly. I don't think it will be that great.

So this is mine. Post yours. The only rule is that you can only make one effort per post.

I'd make an album with Blaze Bayley, he is God as far as I am concerned. I'm guessing most of you have never heard of him. He made 2 albums with Iron Maiden, and most Maiden fans seem to hate him with a passion. Before that, he was in Wolfsbane, and he currently has his own band called Blaze. He is my favourite vocalist of all time and his lyrics are mostly awesome aswell. I just want another album of this guy, and that dream might come true in November.

I'd have a decent album with my own band. I'd have a decent singer because my voice generally goes out of tune the minute I pick up a guitar >.>

As for genre, I dunno... the stuff I write seems to vary so much. Probably early radiohead-esque. The album would all tie in together like some of Dream theatre's, too.

Right now however I'd settle for a gig wherever will take me >.>

I'm actually going to be recording my band's debut album sometime this month. It's grunge/punk/rock.

And I'd love to have a giant concert, with me headlining with bands like Green Day and Pearl Jam opening (not going to happen lol)

I'd make a soundtrack to Halo, except not like the actual soundtrack. I'd use songs on the playlist I use when playing Halo.
It'd be something like this:

1-Symphony X-Inferno
2-Breaking Benjamin-Dance with the Devil
3-Breaking Benjamin-Had Enough
4-Breaking Benjamin-So Cold
5-Metallica-Enter the Sandman
6-Metallica-Sanitarium
7-Megadeth-Tornado of Souls
8-Symphony X-Seven
9-And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead-The Rest Will Follow
10-Symphony X-Walls of Babylon
11-Dragonforce-Through Fire and Flames
12-Nickelback-Flat on the Floor
13-All That Remains-Six
14-Symphony X-Of Sins and Shadows
15-Symphony X-Domination
16-Symphony X-The Damnation Game
17-Symphony X-Relic

Maybe a few more, but I can't think of 'em right now.

I'm gonna have to agree with your Symphony X.

Wow, I'm positively surprised. So many people seem to share my taste in music to some extent. Symphony X for the win. Dream Theater is great too, but I prefer Liquid Tension Experiment 'cause I don't really like the vocals.

I met this guy at school today. We somehow talked about metal and Symphony X was one of his favorites. o_0

HA!!! Last year, every metal fan I met had never heard of Symphony X.
I couldn't believe it. Now, thanks to me, they're one of the most popular bands in the area. As for Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment: I listen to 'em but haven't put them on my playlist yet, since I can't find their CDs anywhere around where I live.

Although it is my kind of music, I'm not that big a fan of Symphony X. There are many better prog/power metal bands in my opinion.
